Yes. my name would help! I am Monica. This will be our first Disney Cruise. We are DVC members and usually take 3 trips a year to the resorts, always one for our anniversary around this time (it is the day before we sail). We have a 3 year old daughter who will be along for the cruise. She is in love with all things Disney, especially the characters.

My husband is a diver, so he may do some dive excursions while me and the kid hang out on the ship or beaches. She is happy to sit in a pool all day long!

I have some basic questions to start. How do I get these door magnets I see every where? What exactly does semi-formal and cruise casual mean to DCL? And most important...how do I let them know about our Anniversary?

Ordered our annual passes last night. Geez the prices went UP but it's still worth it with the DVC discount. We will be in parks for a minimum of 17 days this year and at the DVC price, it comes out to about $23 per day in the park which I think is pretty good.

I got the virus last night also

Did you have the same symptoms?

I'm asking because I don't have all the pop ups BUT I do hear the scraping on my hard drive and my computer has gotten real slow

Welcome Monica! I'm Jeff and traveling with my wife, and two daughters (aged 10 and 4). Our youngest and your daughter will be in teh same group if your daughter is going to spend any time in the Oceaneer's Club.

Some answers: Tell your Travel Agent or DCL if you booked directly about your anniversary then tell your servers in the dining room on your first night and tell them when you want to celebrate.

I will let the ladies handle the questions about dress.

Door magnets - some folks make their own. Some steal designs from others (thanks Christine!) and some go to threads on the main board where talented people offer to help you out by sharing their designs with you.

Jump right in and ask away. Many of us have cruised DCL before. You will love it.

Hi Monica,

You can make your own door magnets or go to some of the threads to ask someone to personalize a door sign for you. Go onto the main cruise forum and there are a couple threads that show examples of door decorations.

Note -- while it SEEMS like everyone will have decorated doors, the reality is that many doors are plain. You can do as much or as little as you want!

Disney is pretty informal. I think the only "suggestions" are no shorts, tank tops, swimming suits in dining rooms. You'll find people dressed at all ends of the spectrum. Some people get quite dressed up, others not so much.

Get your info to Shell (woogal) and she'll get you set up with a cruise mates list. It also tells about some of the activities planned. You can do as much or as little with the group as you want -- however, the meet on the first day is a "DON'T-MISS-IT" occasion IMO. That's we all meet for the first time!

Oh, and as Joanna mentioned earlier -- don't be intimidated by the fact that some of us have cruised together before. Just jump in and have fun!:thumbsup2

I've never met Joanna, but she's already a BFF!!!!

Jeff - What have you decided to do in Cozumel? I am so torn...Trying to decide what to do in Cozumel has been my "moment"

Christine, why don't you go with my DD swimming with the dolphins in Chankanaab...If I ever book it LOL

Just keep reminding myself what Jeff said or was it Greg :crazy2: You only get one chance to spoil your kids and life is too short, you just never know.

I'm going to be gone till this evening. My dad's having surgery so figured I should go up and sit with Mom. Please, for the love of all things Woo, please don't make me catch up on like 20 pages by 6pm!

OK, on to some more questions for you all.

What excursions would you recommend with a 3 year old? While I'm sure she will be fine once in a while in the Oceaneer's club, we really like to spend time with her since when we can we both work full time.

Also, are you all a pretty diverse group age-wise? Because we are pretty diverse within our family! And I hope no one is scared off by my dh's tattoos!

Thank you for the nice reminder! It's really getting close now. Is the kids thread starting to pick up some? Mary has been really bad about posting. I think Algebra is giving her a tough time this year. She's much rather be listening to the Jonas Brothers! ;)

Hi Nanas! I see you tried to ditch me by sneaking off to a new thread....:tilt: :) You all have been doing some serious posting lately!

I guess it's time to get the new count running..
