Good morning Nanas! I'm off to another day of watching storm tracks, checking pump stations, and running through equipment inventories to be sure everything is repaired. Pretty weird job, huh?!
Thanks for the pixie dust from all of Virginia Beach. We usually do okay in these storms because we tend to be shielded by the Outer Banks of North Carolina. But there's always a few houses that flood and trees that come down and crush people's cars and homes. People get really crazy when that happens. I had one citizen threaten bodily harm to me when my crews couldn't replace her drainage pipe with a larger one in the height of a storm. I guess I can't blame her because she had 3 feet of water throughout her house. It was a little scary, though.
Well, off to the day...we're on Magic-watch for you guys up here. She should be pulling into the shipyard in the next few days for her makeover. We'll keep you posted.
