Stayed up much too late watching the Olympics last night and cheering on the Americans. I spent two weeks working in the Athletes Village when the Olympics were in Atlanta, so it made me love them even more. Also got to go to the Closing Ceremonies and sit with the athletes.

I think the coolest story may have been one of those "You had to be there moments", but I will try and convey. I actually worked with the country of India during the Olympics. I think they only had three or four athletes, so there wasn't a lot for me to do. One day I decided to go to the arcade and just see what was going on. I'm walking past the air hockey table and this guy, who spoke no English, pointed to see if I wanted to play. He and I ended up playing a couple of games. Turns out he was from one of the former Soviet bloc countries, still don't know which one. We had a great time playing air hockey with nothing more than smiles and pointing. It was really cool!

One other thing that caught my attention was watching the athletes come and go from the events. I did get to see quite a few medals. But, towards the end of the two weeks, you would see these athletes go from serious world competitors back to being teenagers and college students. One Aussie, who had drank too many Foster's, was riding a bike in front of the tram around the village and popping wheelies, daring the tram to try and pass him.

I could go on, but I will stop now.
