Greg, if you buy into DVC, you get discounted annual passes (100 bucks off each) that make it worth it to buy an AP if you are there for seven days. So, go ahead...buy a DVC resale and then get your passes.

Jeff, since you brought this up, where would I look to see about purchasing a DVC resale? I am giving it serious consideration.

The only thing we ever set a dollar amount on was the gift exchange at the first days' meet. That was sent at $10 so no one felt like they had to spend a bunch; but honestly, I've never been able to keep it at $10. So if you get my name, you get BONUS Ohio stuff

We used a company called A Timeshare I think. Do a search on DVC Resale and punch in the name ****...you'll find their site. I don't think I'm allowed to post it here as they aren't a "sponsor."

I believe the interest and maintenance fees are deductible?

We can deduct our maintenance fees, but I've never paid any interest so I'm not 100% on that.

Maintenance fees yes. Interest I would assume would be the same rules as anything you buy with a home equity loan....

Shell - I have to ask. I thought you were not all that enamored with WDW when you went in the spring. Why would you buy DVC? Don't buy it for the cruises - using points for the cruises isn't a great deal.
