Hi Brantley. We would be there around the same time. Elizabeth is in performance dance this year and her dance team has been invited to dance at Disney June 20-24 (I think those are the right dates). So we will be with the dance team at Port Orleans-Riverside the first part of the trip and then Animal Kingdom Villas the last part.

We have never stayed at SSR and honestly we are only doing it this time because we are using the developers points we received when we added on at AKV. We really like being at BCV or BWV so we are close to a park and then we just bought AKV not so much because we desperately wanted to own there but we did need more points and the offers on our summer cruise were great.

Jaime - Use Kayak.com to track fares from hundreds of airline sites and travel websites. I think they do the best job around. There's also sidestep.com and a couple others but I like Kayak best.

Thanks Jeff...we only have two airlines that fly from here so I never needed to look elsewhere for rates before.

That's really neat that Elizabeth is in performance dance and they are gong to WDW. Does she enjoy it? My girls are both in Jazz/Hip Hop this year and love it. They are so cute to watch!

I bet Pixie & Minnie were glad to have you home! We are going to look at a place this weekend to keep Koda while where gone. Glen makes fun of me becasue I am very picky...

Morning all,
COLD today, no surprize here.
Going to be in the teens and 20's over the weekend. I was suppose to Christmas shop this weekend, the snow may delay that.

Jeff a 3 day is like a nice 3 day weekend. Nassau has lots to offer although you hear lots of negative things at times. Its just the port area is old and run down, but there is a lot to do there.
We loved the Dig at Atlantis, the 2 hour historical tour, The Pirate Museum, 3 great beaches close by, the Harbour tour was ok, Do NOT do their glass bottom boat excursion, Atlantis has an awesome swim area, but you must book a day room at the hotel next door or an excursion to get tickets to use it.
The straw market is a great place to barter for prices, but carefully inspect anything you buy there, clothing can be missing buttons or holes in seams. Very crowded but a unique experience if you like to barter for things.

Of course a day at CC, you cant miss on that!!
The ship's decor is different than the Magic.Very pretty.

Kathy:banana:

Thanks Kathy. We are going to do it. I've been to Nassau/Paradise Island before but Mina and the kids have not. Does DCL actually have an excursion that is for the pools/slides at Atlantis?

Yes..believe it or not even though she is only 10 this is her 7th year of dance! This year she is taking jazz, ballet and baton and has a private lesson because she will be doing a solo at her recital in May. Then she takes performance which is a little more serious but she is really loving it. And the fact they are dancing at Disney has put her (and the other girls) over the moon. They will actually dance at Downtown Disney as the MK is renovating/changing the stage area where dance squads used to perform. Then they are also scheduled to dance at SeaWorld while there. It should be a fun trip. But then aren't they all?

Last year they had one, I dont know if they still have it. I remember it was very expensive so most people booked the room at the hotel next door, cant remember the name.
That was cheaper and you have pool and slide access with the room.
Of course the room isnt ready in the morning but you can check in, pay for it and get your bracelets to use the water area. Then if you want ot use the room later to clean up you can get into it after 3 p.m.

If you go to the main boards someone can tell you the hotel name if you want, then you can check the price.

A taxi ride there wasnt much, its right next to Atlantis hotel. also there is a nice public beach within walking distance of Atlantis too.

Kathy

I think it's the comfort suites. One of Elizabeth's best friends' families did a 4 nighter in early November and I know they went to Atlantis but I'm not sure how they booked it. I will talk to them at the next school event I see them at and see how it worked out...

BTW, I just booked the cruise. :cool1:  . It's funny but when we were on the bus on the way back to the airport we were talking about trying to figure out a way to do a 3 or 4 night one in February when the kids have a day off school but in the end it would have meant taking Lizzie out for at leat 2 days anyway and we really don't want to do that again since we just did for four days.

With this date, even though it's a couple hundred dollars more than a date in, say February, we are already going to be in Orlando and are just giving up 3 days at the parks but we still are getting three days in. I think it's a perfect combination. Now to get a cheap rental car rate. Codes anyone?

Both of my girls started dance when they were three. They both really enjoy it. In previous years they done ballet but this year switched to Jazz & Hip Hop which they really enjoy. I bet she's over the moon...that's a big thing to do!

No Jaime I haven't yet but Stephanie told me Nick and Starr won. I'm glad.

Me too but the frat brothers were in it to the end...and the show when Dallas and his mother went home was really good.

Anyone else looking at the Kids Sail Free opportunity?

We have a trip planned to WDW over Spring Break in April and a 3 night cruise falls right in the middle of our week. The price is great for a 3 nighter and we can book a cat 12 GTY at a great price. So if we can adjust our stay at SSR (we were using our developer's points) from a studio to a 1-bedroom for the nights we are going to be there, I think we're going to book it. We've never been on the Wonder and it just seems like an almost too good to pass up price.

Jeff... I'm giving this some thought too. I really want to plan a trip for Chris' 40th b-day. But we're not sure if we can afford it or not. But with the kids FREE!! I said I'd never do a 3 day again though.... that's my only hesitation. I really loved the luxury of the 7 day and now I'm spoiled.

Good Morning Nana's!

Anyone have plans for the weekend? We have a few Christmas party to attend which should be fun.

Hi Melanie.

here is what we are doing. Saratoga Springs for one night pre cruise in a studio. Then the 3 night cruise then back to SS for 2 nights in a 2-bedroom. We had to use our developer's points so we are splurging. Hope it doesn't spoil us for life since we never get at 2 br at the beach club.

Gotta tell you the price is great. For spring break, we are paying only 1290 for the three nights. I have seen other people post that they are getting rates as low as 850 on the 3 day using the promotion in Feb.

We haven't told the kids yet but just confirmed our DVC change so we'll tell em tonight!

We have never done the 3 day (or even a 4 day) but I think that if we approach it right. That it is less relaxing and more of a run run run cruise we'll enjoy it. And since we were going to be at the parks anyway, we'll just take that mentality to the cruise and spend as little time in the room as possible (thus we booked a cat 12).

Lizzie has been bugging us to go to the Atlantis for a vacation since seeing a really bad Mary Kate and Ashley movie when she was 4 or 5 so even if we pay a lot to see the resort and use the pools it will be less than flying there for a week sometime.

What dates are you guys looking at for the cruise? And is the deal kids under 12 cruise free or kids 12 and under cruise free? Savannah is 12 so is she included?
