Looks like categories 10-12 are sold out on our cruise. Strange - last year they had a sale on Cat 11 for the same cruise - we got back over $400 by calling our TA when we saw the sale. OR ... maybe they'll upgrade some in cat 11 this year so they have room for another sale. Sounds good to me ... I'll take the refund or the upgrade. LOL

Diane

I noticed this too, but today I was checking and now cat. 8 is gone, but cat. 11 is open again. So maybe some cat. 11's got upgrades.

BTW, for the keeper of "the list" you've got my screen name down, but here's a bit more info. for ya: It's me and DH and we're in 7120 and we'll be celebrating 11 years of wedded bliss. :D

Has anyone thought of excursions yet? I feel so lost, as last year I had everything decided upon 3 months out! And here I am, this year, 3 months out, with not a clue!!!!!!!

I think we're going to do the Anguilla Dolphin Swim through DCL, but we're going to go to Sapphire Beach on our own.

We did the Royal Swim with Dolphins on Cozumel last year. It was great and worth every penny! However, considering the cost, it is not likely something we will do again in the near future. We have 4 young children traveling with us, and I am so very lost about excursions this year.

BTW, have we decided upon having a mini DIS meet at the sail a way party? Seems as tho this group is a bit less chatty than the group I sailed with last year! I guess we are all just so busy with work and life, it is hard to make time to DIS. I know that is how it feels for me.

My DF and I want to do this, but I've been reading some mixed reviews of the excursion about water being dirty with feces, etc. Now I'm second guessing it.

dzneprincess - We would definitely be up for meeting up with everyone on the ship at the sail away party, it would be great to be able to put some faces to the people i have been talking toand its something else to look forward to.
Count us in!!

Denise,
I do not know much about the Eastern ports of call to do this. But we did this a Chaanknaab on the western and it was wonderful!!!!!!!!!!! I do believe I remember AnnMorin posting a review of the Anguilla Dolphin swim a few months back, and her review was glowing. You should do a search or PM her that is her actual screen name and she is very friendly!

I had a neat time last year meeting DIS'ers, ANd it seemed like it made things a little easier, since most times whe nyou would turn around there would be someone you met at the sail away party. Of course we had a much larger group also.

PS Bad news fellow cruisers, I may have to pull out of this cruise as well. Our school district has changed attendance policies, and what used to be 10 unexcused absences and 20 total absences, has now been lowered to 15 days max. At 5 days (what we will miss for cruise) I may be fined or jailed... I am trying to clarify that with our principal as to what will happen to us if we take our scheduled trip. It stinks....I am waiting a reply from the principal. I called student services who told me that as long as the principal approves the trip, than we should be fine. SO we shall see :-(

PSS what are you all doing concerning the missing of school days? Suggestions on how to handle this would be appreciated from anyone who may have had to have their trip "approved"

Amanda, I hope your principal gives the OK for you and your family to sail. We will be taking our children out of school for the second time. The first time was last Sept to go to WDW. I gave the teachers and the principal notice of our trip the second day of school because the trip was the second week of school. Despite the short notice all the faculty thought family time important and gave us homework to take with us. THis time I plan on giving notice several weeks before we leave.

Good luck and hope to see you soon:wave2:

Jennifer,
That is also what I did last year for our Halloween cruise. But because of the attendance policy change this year, I am not so sure it is going to be as easy. I am hoping that everything will be okay. At least I haven't tols the kids of this cruise yet, so at least they will not be disappointed if we are not "approved" to go. That really bothers me. I wish I was able to homeschool somedays, ya know?

Wow I just noticed our counters! Almost double digits! I will be sailing with my DH next month and it doesnt even seem real! LOL

dzneprincess - i hope you get the go ahead, let us all know how you get on.
We booked our cruise 18 months in advance and i went to see my daughters principal before we finalised the booking to make sure it would be ok, as my daughter will be off school for just over 3 weeks (doing 2 weeks at Disney before cruise & 1 night after) He said because she was doing well at school it would be ok & i made sure she has had no other time off.
I also spoke to her new teacher for this year and asked if there was any homework she could take to do on the 9 hour flight.
Part of me feels guilty for taking her out of school for so long but she has always done well at school & i will ensure she catches up on anything she misses after the holls, this will be our last opportunity to take her out of school as next year she goes up to secondary school (not sure if thats wht you call it over there!) and all the serious exams will beginning. In England it is very expensive to travel during school holls and we could not have been able to afford this trip in school holiday time - it would have cost nearly an extra £5000!! (about $7000) to travel then!
I think travel is educating anyway & i was lucky enough to travel alot when i was young & i learnt so much.
Surley if you booked your holiday before this new rule came into force they should honour it? Good luck
:wave2:

Thanks Jennifer. I did hear back from the prinicpal this morning, and she was also very unsure of the new policy. She, personally, seemed to have no problem with the children missing school. SHe told me that she has a meeting on Tues. in regards to the new policy, and hopefully we will both be a little clearer.

Amanda, I'll say a prayer for you and the family;) I am believing all will go well and in 100 short days we will be off sailing with the mouse:wave2:

Keep us posted!

Jennifer
