11/26/2011 EARLY Bananahead reunions cruise

yes Greg and dont you forget it........actually its pretty much been luck....I really have not been sitting around waiting.....now I should play the lottery and see how I do on that......maybe I can retire and then really do some serious cruisin!!!

So I was just on the cruise line site and this cruise is a western.......I was hoping for a eastern...but I could handle going back to cozumel and since I didnt get to see grand caymen.....
I also was checking out price's for alaska......I think they are a little steep.....

I didn't know DCL had the Nov. 2011 itineraries up yet? I just looked and not only is it a Western cruise its on the Magic not the new ship!

Well that officially puts us out of this sailing. I don't really want to spend another $7000 to see the same places again.

I looked at the DCL prices for Alaska also and I agree they are more then a little steep!

Well, I'm open for suggestion on what to do for our Nana reunion cruise? Doing a back to back 3-4 day cruise is out for us though. Nassau doesn't appeal to me.

I'm thinking Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas sailing that same time would be a good alternative?

We wont do back to back 3 and 4 day either. I have done many of those. They were fine for a 3 day weekend when we lived there just to get away.

Not enough people posting here to get an idea of what the majority want to do. Many may do this one and one the next year too.

We were going to book it until they blew it with the ship.

Now we are talking 14 day Hal cruise for 2011 sometime
We havnt 100% ruled this one out but it is not looking good for it.

Hal has 2 14 day that go to lots of ports in the Caribbean that we have never been to. I cant think of names right now, Libidee (sp), aruba,just cant remember names off the top of my head. But they have several that are 10 to 19 days that look great but the 14 day are what caught our eyes.
One had 11 ports, so if youcount 1 day is boarding day, 1 day is you last morning that leaves 12 days and 11 ports. So we would be off the ship almost everyday to see a new place. Thats whats so appealing, plus the price.

No Alaska for us. Someday but really not interested in going to a cool place. I know it can be up to 70 in the summer but it also can be windy and cold and rainy. I want to watch glaciers and see wild life but not just yet.

I think no matter when the nanaheads do a reunion it will probably be half will go for one time and half the other time. Everyone has kids on school or work scheduling or preferences in ports etc.. It is impossible to get everyone what they want in one cruise.


Cold here today and raining all night and most of the day too. Our highs later this week is mid 60's. Time to get out the sweatshirts I think.

Gotts go, need to call some business calls today.

Well that stinks!

I just found out that I can get round trip airfare from SLC into Barcelona next summer for $289 per person!

We were thinking about doing an NCL 12 day Mediterranean cruise next summer until we decided that we'd wait another couple of years until Holly is a little older.....but now?

Yes it does! Now I'm debating whether or not to do our 10 day Panama cruise in March and then do the 12 day Mediterranean cruise in July?....guess I'd better go out on the backyard and fertilize my money tree!

Ok....I really wanted to do the new ship also.....that's why I was going to push my vacation out until 2011....I wouldnt mind doing back 2 back's but I would really like to see some islands....
plus with me trying to sell this house....I would be up to pushing the cruise to 2012 waiting to see where the ships are going and then go from there....Plus Izzy would be a little older and sailing would be easier with her. So we can take a poll and see how many nana's would be interested in going in 2012 on the new ship.

I at this time would not even mind which direction they would go in...eastern or western but it would be nice to sail on their new ship.....who knows maybe they would do a southern caribbean.

We should send out a email to get some feedback from the rest of the nana's. I know its early but we may strike up some interest in some people.

Oh man, I really was hoping for a 7-night on the new ship but oh well, I would do a back 2 back with two stops at Castaway Cay plus I think it would be cool to stay on the ship in between cruises. I just hope it's not too much more money.

However, I just looked up the 6 night repositioning cruise in 2011 from LA to Vancover and I might book that now. It's much cheaper than I thought it would be and would be the perfect birthday gift for me, it just might be a little cold in April.

I'm here and I'm stumped on 2011. I like the idea of a back-to-back, but in all honesty, I can't say that I'd plan on anything until I see what the new ship is doing. We're all assuming it's doing on Nassau (which we do like and our rum cake supply has been depleted dramatically since we were there last ) and CC, but who knows?

I'd even consider doing the Magic again in 2011 if it's doing a Western since we got jipped out of a) Grand Cayman; and b) decent weather. That and I was so sick that I didn't even get to enjoy the trip to the fullest.

So for me, I have to say that until the new ship itineraries come out, I'm not committing to anything.

I'm not committing to anything either......there sure is a lot of time to plan this...plus some of my decisions will be based on what's going on with my daughter & military life. She has a possible deployment in the very near future so that will or will not make the difference. Right now, I know that I will not be doing anything until 2011 the earliest or hold off till 2012. But my goal was for the new ship.....so I'm going to wait and see. But we can still keep this thread going......I just love chatting with you guys.....

Good morning everyone, the new ships itenaries will be annouced 11/30 in NY, not sure of the time?

Greg you can quit sending us rain anytime now. I have had quite enough It poured all night and is still raining. I need a little more sun before winter sets in.

Going to be a quiet day today. Will work on FE gifts some and dry off wet dogs

Still waiting a week now for moms Dr to look at her test results and deicde what to do. I am gettign really mad now. They faxed him twice and a phone call too and still no word from him. I have been calling everyday to where mom lives. Today I may have to start bugging her Dr. office. My brother has the legal right to access her medical records and talk directly with her Dr about medical issues that are confidential to all of us, so maybe he should call her Dr.

So that is my soap opera day today

That maybe effective against the dog fleas, but the camel fleas are immune to your 21st century ways!
