Hi, everyone! Ken, Sarah, Rachel and I just went to O'Charley's! Ate way too much (LOVE THE ROLLS) and Rach made sure that they brought a gigantic piece of chocolate cake for the birthday boy. She was so funny before we picked up Ken...she hid in the floor covered up with jackets. When he got settled, she jumped up a scared him to death! I thought the girls would crack up!:lmao:

I'll see you guys in the morning! I'm off to fashion a fabulous garbage bag dress. I'm having trouble with the poofy sleeves, though. Woo? Christine?

Judy, call me when you get up tomorrow.

Sleep tight, nanas.

Oh, yes, Mutt. Even if Kathy hadn't mentioned you as our QOD nana, you were my choice. Have at it, brother!

Are you guys going to try to get there for rope drop? We have never been there that early, but since that will be such a busy day, we are going to try to make it. I am not sure what time we will get to the hotel that Thursday night, but I am guessing arount Midnight or 1:00 am.

I have looked up the bus information on the hotel's web site and it looks like their busses start running one hour before the park opens. Are you guys going to take the bus over?

I think we are going to follow Tour Guide Kathy's advice and head straight for Splash, grab a FP and then hit Big Thunder before the crowd gets crazy.

I think we are going to try for the rope drop, but we'll have to wait and see - the time change might throw us for a loop. If all goes as planned, we should land around 2pm on Thursday, so we plan on going to Downtown Disney that afternoon/evening and hopefully get to bed early. I hope you all aren't exhausted on Friday, what with the drive and the late check-in. But as the Boyce's are notoriously late for everything, I will be so excited if we make the rope drop. :-)

I'm not sure about the buses - I'm considering just driving over and parking at WDW - I heard parking is free, but I might be mistaken. It just depends on how late the buses run and how often they go to the park - I don't want to wait 30 minutes if we could have just driven ourselves over and parked in the same time. Have you stayed there before? How did the bus schedule work for you?

We usually run late too!!!! Plus, with the late arrival, I am hoping that we get there at rope drop. We have only gone in the past during slower times, so we usually get to the parks around 10:00 am. From what everyone says, you can get alot done on busy days if you get there early, so we are going to give is shot.

We have never stayed at the Royal Plaza, so I do not know how their bus service is. We have only used Disney Transportation, and it has always been great. In fact, on our past trips I have never gotten back into our car until time to leave.

I am wondering about using thier bus vs driving, but I thought you did have to pay for parking. I am not sure.

Hi Nana Nation............

So, I had so many posts to catch up on; I actually had to take notes:sad2:

Before that though; I wanted to share with you how funny my mom is........So, I had be up pretty early this am for the garage sale (made $380 between last weekend and this one-that's alot of drinks BABY!!!) and my mom knew this. She pulls up and I said, "What are you doing here so early?"

She's grinning from ear to ear and I'm like what? She said "guess what", I'm like:confused3 "IN TWO WEEKS, WE'LL BE CRUISING"...........

I just stared at her. Then I busted out laughing!!!! I mean really? Two Weeks? If we only had two weeks left:

-I'd be at my goal weight
-I'd stop ordering things on line that probably won't make it in time
-I'd be at least half way packed, not clueless about WHAT to pack
-I'd be so nervous about meeting everyone, I'd have broken out in hives
-I'd have a hair appointment made
-I'd have started my pack of Crest strips
-I'd have a tan by now

That mother of mine-I tell ya' what........what a kidder:lmao:

QOD:

I would say Mickey because I feel like a kid as soon as we drive under the Walt Disney World sign!!!!!!:cool1: :cool1:

Chip and Dale are always funny too, so they would get my second vote!!!!!

You know what they say, Mom is always right!!!!:)

Dawn-Thanks for telling me about the iron interfacing. I was wondering if my fabric would be stiff enough........You know there is money in those. I read on the threads all the time that people look on E-Bay for them. You probably could have sold at least five on this thread............DO IT!!!! That will be your position at Nana Nation Headquarters:thumbsup2

Robin-I'm so glad to hear you have an O'Charley's. You'll see why..........

Dawn-We bought Jacob "Kingdom Keepers" when we were there in September. I don't get the ending. It was cut off kind of. Do you think it's because there will be a sequel, or did I miss something? I was left feeling:confused3

Dawn-Jacob is doing well. We have an appointment with the Neurologist on Tuesday. Jacob wants the boys to know that he's a pin collector as well.

Driving under the sign and getting "Pixie Dusted" is our favorite part too.

Shell: We did talk about a Nana Meet in Vegas...............so, you don't mind spending money you don't have for Vegas, but for Va Beach??? OH NO!!!! Couldn't make it work then:mad:

Wendy-You have to come on the cruise...........you're on my door sign:sad1:

Someone mentioned the infamous "Cake Castle"............well, it was 1996. The year I was MARRIED there:sad2: After long and thoughtful consideration; I decided to put out the money to have my wedding portrait taken at the MK. So, I'm on the phone with Disney Photography and we're scheduling a date for the portraits, when she says; "Oh well, we can't do it that week; that's when they're transforming the castle into a cake.......we'll have to do it the week after." EXCUSE ME???? I did not wait my whole life for a Fairy Tale Wedding to have my portrait taken in front of a cake..........

Long story, short..........me and my two girlfriends traveled the week of the Fourth of July and they comped us four nights at the Polynesian:thumbsup2

Jaime-One strange thing I must pack: Lipsmackers Chap Stic. Doesn't matter what flavor, but it has to be Lipsmackers!!!!! Guess that could count for the childish thing too............

HEY MUTT-WHERE IN THE @%$#&* IS THAT BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURE YOU PROMISED? AND YEAH, I YELLING...................but I love you:love:

Night Night Nanas.............

I want the QOD on Monday!!!!

Geez..........I'm very demanding tonight aren't I? Must be the fact that I haven't had any alcohol, or dessert if five friggin' weeks and this week; NOT ONE LOUSY POUND!!!!!!!!

I stayed at the Royal Plaza several years ago. At this time of the year, I would drive. Here's what Robin and I do.... we drive to the Grand Floridian, valet park, and go up and take the monorail in... or self park in the free parking lot. Again, at this time of year, I'd valet park. Just tell them you are coming for breakfast! Then you have the monorail or launch to get you over there and you know where your car is at the end of the day. The LAST thing I want to do is park with the masses on such a crazy day. We have parked at the Grand Floridian for years!!!! YOu can also stop and get a drink on the way back and see the fabulous decorations!!!
