I actually don't know as we haven't gone there yet. I'm counting on Robin or Judy to help us out with a full description here.

Hey, nanas, just got home...school dance. Last night was Sarah's ballgame, so I have A LOT of catching up to do. Magen's is one of the caribbean's top ten beaches, especially if you go early before the crowds. This is a great area for kids because it's in a cove and you won't have waves...which makes for safer play and nicer snorkling...go to the left (looking at the sea) as far as you can for the best area. Not a lot of water sports...they have sunfish, kayaks, floats, and snorkeling.

I ADORE THE BEACH BAR (starts serving at 9 AM), and always belly up with a few Bushwackers that taste like milkshakes but have about nine liquors in them. Locals love Painkillers... you will, too. Both drinks are served with fresh nutmeg, but I prefer them without.

Breakfast is good, but I LOVE the grilled cheese sandwiches and fries. Pizza and burgers are good, too. Take a cheap taxi or open air taxi for a few great hours at a gorgeous beach lined with palms. Locals love this beach...you always see them cooking out under one of the picnic shelters. We've also seen a few weddings. My friend Joy hooked me on this beach. Bikini clad girls and handome college boys serve you drinks in the sand or in the sea.

Coconut Joy is this old Rasta Man who climbs coconut trees and sells the coconuts. I also like the gift shop where you can rent anything you need. Super cute tees, especially for kids, and upscale resort wear, too.

Havensight is where we usually dock and the shops there are reputable...you can buy anything you would see in town and avoid the crowds. If you do go into Charlotte Amalie, get your picture taken on the back of Oprah the donkey. If you go on the ferry in Red Hook, stop into Duffy's Love Shack for burgers and drinks. Kenny Chesney always wears a Duffy's tie dye shirt if you've seen his videos. Marina Market is a reputable grocery store. Be sure to say, "Good Morning" or "Good Afternoon" before addressing locals. They will NOT wait on you nicely if they see you as a rude landlubber. If you get to KMart, I'm not kidding, they have super liquor prices, but everywhere booze is cheap.

Oh, and BTW.......just in case there are any Turkey Day lurkers about.....these posts aren't about nothing-they're about the love:love:

I'm going to need serious DIS rehab when this cruise is over:sad2:

I don't know what you're talking about.

Cruise over?:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Robin-
If some of us want to meet up at Magen's Bay will it be hard to find each other?

Nope! It's actually very small and intimate...one end has the more active water sports, the bar/shop are in the middle, on down is the restroom area, and further down is the quieter beach. But the bar is a safe bet, every time!

I told youall she was the Megan's Bay expert!
Kim- we ARE on the Nautica.... !!! I love to snorkle and the kids haven't ever done it.
We usually get to the portr around 10:00. Last year I got seperated from the group when they handed out numbers for boarding and so I went up and asked what to do... they collected all of our numbers and gave us passes with the VIP's. Talk about your pixie dust, we were one of the first on the ship!!!!

Okay. It's really quiet here because DH & Alex are gone and Jackson is in bed. So I'm going to "pull a Brantley" and post the question of the day for tomorrow now.

Here it is:

On my ipod I have a tropical playlist with songs that remind me of our cruise. What songs get you in the mood for our Disney Cruise? I will start the list with a few of mine, then everyone copy and paste and add theirs to the bottom of the list. When we are done we will have our own Nanahead Playlist.

1. Under the Sea, Samuel E. Wright (The little mermaid)
2. Shake Senora (Jump in the Line), The CalypsoNuts
3. Red Red Wine, UB40
4. A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, Kimberly Locke

Judy, if you like to snorkel, you should try the Doubloon. It's a fantastic scooner, with, dare I say, a scurvy crew. :goodvibes

Who is doing which snorkle trip?????? I am currently booked with the girls on the nautica in St. Thomas.... who is going where?????

Night all! Will check in tomorrow.... sleep well:love:

Do I need coins or bills for the laundry? Our laundry here only takes coins but we don't have $1 bills here...just loonies and twoonies...

Coins...it'll take dryers a few rounds...I take a roll of quarters just in case...you can not find change onboard.

Has anyone realized that today is FRIDAY!?!?!?!
I get to go to a corn maze tomorrow with my friends!!! YAY!:yay:

Songs for the cruise:

"Remember the Magic" from the 25th anniversary WDW Parade.
"I'm Comin' Up" (so you better get this party started) by Pink...a staple at former Sailaways
"Christmas in the Islands," Jimmy Buffet...best heard at Magen's Bay Bar
"No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems" Kenny Chesney
Any Marley tune...
"When You Wish upon a Star"
"Starlight, Starbright" from the Wishes Fireworks show
"Build Me Up, Buttercup" by the Foundations...just because it's a party
Call me crazy, but any old school Morris Day and the Time...preferably, "The Bird"
Shell, I can't remember the name of the song I emailed you...but it was PERFECT for our theme song.
