You know, I am trying to figure out why Shell had such a hard time last week. My flight left 5 minutes early, and arrived in Dallas about 10 minutes early.

Could it be they detected something in her attitude....:lmao:

Jaime, Deck 2 is great. We found it convenient and also if we have rough seas the lower decks don't feel the motion as much! And the lower decks are closer to the tendering areas so getting on and off the ship is easy.

But Kathy is right... it might not hurt to call and ask anyway?

Thanks for the info...not sure if I am going to call...always afraid that if I complain about what I already have I'll end up with something much worst:rotfl: I'd prefer the extra room of a cat 10 over a cat 11 and I like the idea of deck 2 just in case the girls have motion sickness.

Has anyone stayed in or around room 2045 or 2047?

Maybe there is some sort of fan or something you could bring to mask any noise...

My dad was over and Kierra was telling him about the kids clubs and our room...Dad ask Kierra if she was going to get sea-sick and she looked at him with her hands on her hips and said "Grandpa your silly....we'll be inside then... you only get sick when your outside."

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Alex keeps telling people he's going on the "Minnie Mouse Boat"...

That's my boy! Minnie's in charge!

OK, so I am very excited about going to Disneyland next week but I am also upset because I will miss our celebration of one month to go. Also, I always like to be almost done packing a month out and I really haven't started. I guess I will have to get some thing together this week.

What's your plans for when you first get on the ship (before the room is ready)?

After we get announced :cloud9: the first thing I plan on doing is getting a Navigator from the guest services desk, then I am heading up to Topsiders to have some lunch hopfully at an outside table. I don't plan on walking around too much because we will have carry on luggage. If our rooms still aren't ready when we are done with lunch I will go back to guest services to book our Martini Tasting and then find a nice spot on Deck 4 and just chill until our room is ready.

Okay I was just going through my list and I have alot questions:goodvibes ...some have probably have been asked before...so sorry in advance:goodvibes

1. We plan on leaving Orlando at 9:30am...what time should we get to the port?
2. What time do we start boarding?
3. I need PALO reservations!!! Where do I go again? And is this the first thing we should do? Is it normally a long line?
4. The outside tables by Topsiders are they by the pools?
5. When is our ladies meet planned for?
6. Who is doing the Wine or Martini tastings?
7. Everyone talks about carrying liquor onboard...is it okay to bring it in checked luggage...I'll have it already in my checked luggage from our flight...should I take it out and carry it on?
8. How much is the laundry? Does it take coin or bills? What deck is the laundry on?
9. Has anyone done the glass bottom boat tour in Castaway Cay?
10. What do you bring in your carry-on? Will we have our luggage before our meet?
11. What time does our rooms open?
12. What time do we usually get of the ship on the last day?:sad1:
13. If we ship anything before hand...what address do we use?

Melanie...Michelle was wondering who your ordered the boys tuxes off again?

I can answer some
1 & 2. We plan on heading there around 11, but we'll be at the mercy of the Radisson shuttle. Boarding time? 1 p.m.?? Kathy?. It will take less than an hour to travel from Orlando to the port. If you leave Orlando at 9:30 you should be there by 10:30.
3. You can make Palo reservations online now.
5. Shell put this at the end of the cruisemates list it's 1 p.m. Sunday at the Cove Cafe.
6. I'd love to do the either. Will have to trade off with DH so one can watch Jackson and one can go to the tasting probably.
10. There's no guarantee that we'll have our luggage before our meet. Possibly not. Sometimes it takes a while.
11. We've always gotten into our rooms shortly after we eat lunch. Usually by 2 p.m.
12. We were surprised how quickly we got off the ship with Disney. We were off by 9 a.m. And we had late breakfast seating.

That's all I know for sure... or think I know.

Thanks Melanie...there are no Palo ressies left online:sad1:

Darn!!! Well I think you might go right to Palo to make the ressie, but I know someone else here will know!

I'm worried about our brunch now that Jackson is being a stinker and I'm afraid he won't stay at Flounders so we can enjoy it:sad2:

Hopefully Jackson will let you have a little break! We are really hoping to get brunch & dinner ressies... not sure how Alicia is going to act in the clubs....hoping for the best!!

1. We plan on leaving Orlando at 9:30am...what time should we get to the port?
10:30 unless you hit traffic, if you are taking your own car. We are leaving about the same time. They will not let you check in any earlier than 10:30 but there will be people waiting
2. What time do we start boarding?
If they clear customs on time we should start boarding about Noon, when you walk into the terminal you will first go through security and then up an escalator at the top of the escalator you will get a boarding number. So even though the ship starts boarding at noon you can't get on until your number is called.
3. I need PALO reservations!!! Where do I go again? And is this the first thing we should do? Is it normally a long line?
Palo Reservation are made at Rockin D Bar. Yes, go there first, it looks like they are taking reservation starting at noon. If you want specific days and time you need to be there as early as possible. Last time I was there they didn't start taking them until 1pm. We got in line as soon as we boarded and by 1pm the line was very long.
4. The outside tables by Topsiders are they by the pools?
No, they are to the sides and back of topsides, however there are tables all around the pool area. If you want a table by the pool I would suggest one person wait in line to get the Palo reservation while the second person goes up to the deck and get a table by the pool. Then you can just get food from Topsiders and bring it out to your table.
5. When is our ladies meet planned for?
6. Who is doing the Wine or Martini tastings?
I am planning on doing the Martini Tasting on Sunday (looks like there is a second one on Thursday too)
7. Everyone talks about carrying liquor onboard...is it okay to bring it in checked luggage...I'll have it already in my checked luggage from our flight...should I take it out and carry it on?
Sorry, I can't answer this, I won't be bringing on any liquor
8. How much is the laundry? Does it take coin or bills? What deck is the laundry on?
Sorry can't answer this, no way will I do laundry on vacation, that's why I got more luggage this weekend :thumbsup2
9. Has anyone done the glass bottom boat tour in Castaway Cay?
10. What do you bring in your carry-on? Will we have our luggage before our meet?
I bring what I plan on wearing to dinner that night, a bathing suit for each of us and a couple pairs of underwear this way if our luggage gets delayed I am prepared. The last time we got all of our luggage before the drill but I know that's not always the case
11. What time does our rooms open?
1:30pm the ropes drop
12. What time do we usually get of the ship on the last day?:sad1:
We were off by 7:30am but sometimes the ship doesn't clear customs right away so this is not guaranteed
13. If we ship anything before hand...what address do we use
:confused3 sorry don't know but check the main board I have seen lots of threads with this info

I hope this helps, also keep in mind I went two years ago so not all of this might be the same.

So how do the tips work on DCL? On other cruiselines, they usually charge us automatically at the end of our trip ($10/pp per day) and take care of making sure everyone gets the tips...does DCL do it differently? Do we need to personally hand out our tips? Are there envelopes provided for this purpose or should we plan ahead? Do we need to bring cash for the tips or can we charge them to our shipboard account?

BTW, I always tear up when the Disneyworld commercial comes on TV, and always when boarding & disembarking any cruise ship...happy to board, sad to leave. I've never been to WDW, so I'm sure I'll get all teary when I get that first glimpse. AND all the photos of the ship everyone's been posting have been making me tear up too...what a crybaby I am!

I bring cash for the tips, i was told by a CM that when paid on account it takes them a little to recieve it, actually the last 3 sailings I give the room stewart 50.00 the day we board...(we have 2 rooms) and I tell them, here this is for that room (and point to the girls) and ours....just a little in advance......thanks......and the first night I shake the server and asst. servers hand after our first dining with and extra 30 for server and 20 for asst and say "take care of us and I will take care of you"...escargot EVERT night!! LOL

What is the deal with cell phones on board? I read somewhere that the Disney ships now had it arranged for some cell phone usage on board through certian carriers. Do you guys know how it works. We have AT&T (use to be Cingular). I went to make sure we had the international roaming activated and the person said we should not use them on board. She said that it goes through the tower on board and it would be $10.00 per min. I was going to activate them so if any of our family needed to get in touch with us they could just call our cell. What are you guys doing?

On our 03 Eastern we stepped into our room and my phone was ringing, I picked it up and I had service, I called home and wished everyone happy Thanksgiving, we were off the Puerto Rican coast, must have got service from there.....other than that about 10 miles out....it's gone! But, they say now that certain carriers are on the ship I KNOW one is Sprint

I was just reading on http://www.stthomasskyride.com/ and on the day we are in St. Thomas there is a * by the Magic...I noticed that the ships that have the * usually go to Charlotte Amalie harbor...is this the dock or the tender? Just wondering if we will still be within walking distance of the shops and tram for there?

In 03 we walked to the skyride and then took a "taxi" to the shopping area.

When we were on in July the cell phone worked in the room, not up on deck. Not that we ever answered ours. The night before you go to St Marteen, your phone will work on deck at about midnight (look to the port side and see the lights of St Thomas). We used our cell phone in St Thomas with little to no roaming charges. (like $1.15 total). I hope this answers the questions.
