Maybe I'll try the toning...I do have to tone more anyways so maybe that will help...

Another thing that may help is to break your workouts in two. So instead of a 60 minute workout, do two 30 minute sessions, or 2 X 15 instead of one 30-minute session. That is supposed to boost the metabolism a bit.

OR, you could throw some higher intensity intervals into your workout. Do 1 or 2 minutes fast (run, walk, bike, eliptical) followed by a minute easy. This is supposed to boost the calorie burn and keep the metabolism revved afterward as well. Plus it makes the workout go by much faster.

You can also do the toning/strengthening exercises in a circuit-fashion so you're moving from one to the next without a lot of rest in between -- also supposed to keep the heart rate (and calorie burn) up.

No matter what, we'll  the fact that you're joining us -- who cares about the other stuff!!!

Hi gang,
Today is a wonderful morning in my house although we are both tired, in fact I am exhausted with only a couple hours sleep.
Last night was the worst night I have had in years!!!
Greg is training Pixie to walk on a leash. last night was only her 2nd night. He took Minnie too because she is a good example of a well trained dog.

Part way around the loop, Pixie stopped and backed up somehow and got out of her harness, which was adjusted tight. She was scared and confused and just bolted down a side street that leads to the back of our subdivision where they are building homes. Behind this is a swampy area with tons of thick brush and woods. That is where she ran into.

Greg and Minnie ran hard for about 3/4 of a mile trying to catch her but she was gone, so they came back.

Greg and i went right back out, he got on our quad to comb the huge area which goes for many miles, I walked the opposite way. we both got thorns and stickers in our bare legs. after a couple hours of walking through dangerous areas we couldnt find her. This area is full of poisonious snakes, spiders and scorpions and probably a few gators near the water. Not a good place to be!!

Greg continued to look and I went back to put on long pants , then I took the truck and drove though the surrounding areas asking people if they have seen her. I then drove the road that borders the back of this area but it was dark by then.
I then met Greg at home and told him I wanted to take a flashlight and go back to where she ran in and call her some more holding up the light hoping she will see it. at home we play follow the light all the time, plus it was late and quiet so she could hear our voices easier.
So I drove back and Greg walked back so to keep looking for her along the way in case she wondered back.

There are mounds of sand out there from the people building houses, so I climbed up a small one since it was dark and I couldnt see what I was doing.
I started holding the flashlight up high and calling her name, Greg did the same. After 20 minutes we called off the search.

Greg started to walk back to keep looking and i got in the truck, turned it on and sat for just a minute and off in the distance I saw what looked like the eyes of an animal. I jumped out of the truck and yes it was Pixie way off in t he ditsance running towards us. I went to meet her and she fell to the ground before I could get to her. i was so scared she was hurt but she was just exhausted and scared. She was shaking so hard and her heart was pounding. But her tail was wagging and her tongue wa slicking me a million miles an hour!!

she must of run for miles. Greg saw what was happening and came back, as soon as he was in the headlights where she could see him, she got up and trotted over to greet him too. He carried her back to the truck and then into the house where she drank so much water over the next hour it was incredible.

she was so scared she didnt even want to get off the patio into the dark yard to go to the bathroom. Greg even went out with her.

Then after we all quite shaking a bit we had to get ticks off of her and thorns off her skin, check all her little cuts and abrasions from running through that horrible terrain.
Then we had to check Minnie to make sure she didnt pick up any on her run through the area earlier with Greg.
then we had to check ourselves. by the time we went to bed it was very late!!! Pixie went to sleep ASAP for about an hour and then woke up and was restless all night, not sleeping at all.

I was too wound up to sleep too. So I dozed on and off for a couple of hours before getting up this morning. Pixie and Minnie are napping but I am wide awake, hope to nap this afternoon.
I need to call the vet this morning to make sure if there is anything else I need to do after removing the ticks, we dont want her to get any diseases.

That was my night, which was aweful but it is a wonderful morning today because we are all back together again!!

well I am tired so will check back later,

Kathy

Cheri is my hero:love:

You can only book the rainforest on board and you can buy a pass for the week or a daily pass. Yes, you can add it to a spa service and I usually can talk them into giving it to me free after a massage. I do advise you to try it once before you pay for unlimited weeklong pass. Since I have teens, my demands as a mother are more like "leave me alone" rather than "come and get me."
The beepers from the clubs, however, do work inside the rainforest room. I am sure it is just when you lay back on the warm, tiled lounge chairs:laughing:
Have a good day, all.... back to the cold, lonely, unfriendly noDis zone..........
Ashley

Thanks for the info Ash!

Kathy...glad to hear it all worked out....Dogs....Mutts...they just scare the crep outta ya, dont they?

Mornin' Nanas!

Hope everyone is feeling well today! We had some rain last night, but not the storms they had forecast.

The sun is finally peeking out so perhaps I'll go out for a run before I find a way to talk myself out of it!!

Then I have a SNOW-load of work to do. Ack!!!

TTFN!:grouphug:

:lmao: The only problem is it would be next year before she got back and we want her to cruise with us....

All joking aside...anyone have any weight loss tips they are willing to share...I am eating right & exercising...what else can I do...to loose my last few pounds...I was thinking about drinking 5 cups of green tea and 8 cups water with lemon a day...has anyone ever try that?

Good Night All!

I have lost 56 pounds over the last 16 weeks through Weight Watchers and DW has lost 25. Now, without doing the program, here is what I learned:

* Drink lots of water (at least 64 ounces a day)
* Write down EVERYTHING you eat, and find out the calorie, fat and carb content of each item. This includes those little nibbles here and there. I know one person who was constantly grabbing little bites here and there that took all of their calories. To maintain your current weight, the average person requires 12 calories per pound. Multiply your weight by 12, and you will know that your caloric intake needs to be below that level. I think for women though, it should not drop below 1200 calories a day.
* Get rid of the processed foods. Use fresh as much as possible.
* Go for the leanest cuts of meat. They may be a little more expensive, but the offset is worth it. Also, remember that beef is almost twice as many calories per ounce as chicken, and chicken is almost twice as much as some fish and shrimp.
* Go with whole grain breads, pastas and flours. Stay away from foods that have "enriched bleached flour" in them. Use brown rice or wild rice instead of white rice.

Thanks Cheri:goodvibes

Kathy I am glad everything worked out!!!!

Bob wow that's alot of weight in 16 weeks!!!!! Thanks for the info!

AWESOME JOB!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Those are great tips!!!

A couple other things:

Watch out for high-fructose corn syrup (it's everywhere!) and the trans-fats. (Goes back to eliminating processed foods.)

Now if it wasn't so d**n expensive to eat healthy.

Oh my gosh, Kathy and Greg! Scary! We sure do love our furry daughters (and sons)! I'm so glad she's ok. Alexis actually gets a shot for Lyme Disease annually in case she gets bit by a bad tick.

Not much going on today. Just the usual :laundy:. Does it ever stop!

The boys were both in AWFUL moods last night :sad2:. I said to them did you have a bad day at school, and I got "NO I DIDN'T HAVE A BAD DAY!" Ok, I'm glad you're home too!

Tonight is conferences for both of them and no school tomorrow.

Shell, we haven't heard from you yet. Hope your trip home was uneventful.

Good day all. I am home will be checking in for activity. Dawn
:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Kathy: Glad to hear the doggie is okay. Now get some rest ! We don't need a sick mama Nana on this cruise.

Bob - Wow. That's impressive! After working out 4-5 times a week for the past six months, I have done very little in getting rid of the gut. Time to step up the cardio. I'm committed to an hour a day now which I absolutely hate - boring! I actually currently belong to 3 different gyms - you'd think I'd be in better shape! :rotfl2:

and there I am at the top of the page again. Have a great day everyone!

How about a pic of the day?
