Oh Holly!! Say it isn't so!
I'm so bummed!!! I was looking forward to meeting you too!!

I understand completely though as this is the 3rd Date I have reserved for a cruise this year!!! I know how life can interfere with the best made plans!

I hope you stay in touch! I'm jealous you'll be on that 15 Day Panama Canal cruise. That just sounds heavenly.

People ... I picked our first 3 zucchinis this weekend. With ONE I made 9 loaves of zucchini bread (2 cups shredded zucchini per loaf)! I feel like I need to take suggestions from Bubba in "Forrest Gump" ... You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sautee it. There's uh, zucchini-kabobs, zucchini creole, zucchini gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple zucchini, lemon zucchini, coconut zucchini, pepper zucchini, zucchini soup, zucchini stew, zucchini salad, zucchini and potatoes, zucchini burger, zucchini sandwich. That- that's about it.

Personally I love pan fried zucchini. My DH makes it great. If I made it I'd probably burn it or something.

You can't be serious! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

If you really mean this, then you need to know that you are now OBLIGATED to go on the '08! NO EXCUSES! Start posting, sister! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1311313
Awwww.....I'm feeling the love! I'll sure try. The only thing holding me back will be whether Jan's going on that cruise or not. I'm not sure if we can take the same week off. I'm convinced we can though and work can just get a temp that week. You all need to convince her of that because she and I have mentioned how fun it would be to cruise together! ;)

Thanks Kathy! I think I'll make that final decision after I'm fully paid for my 5/10/08 Panama Canal cruise. :thumbsup2 I'd love to join you guys!

Sorry! Well, I'm still keeping that week off work and plan on going on a vacation without my son. :rotfl2: Bad mom, I know! But I never told him about this cruise anyway, so I don't have to worry about disappointing him. Sure, he's asking all the time when we're going on another Disney cruise, but it's not like he's deprived. He's been on 3 so far, plus plenty of Florida vacations. It's time for me to have a couple real vacations.

St. Thomas is my all-time favorite cruise stop, so I decided to spend a whole week there! Check out this link:
http://www.paradisepointtramway.com/cottage.html

Dirt cheap compared to the price of the cruise, so I'll still be able to afford a getaway, even if I can't afford a cruise right now.

Well, I booked about a month ago now. I have wanted to post but wanted to catch up from the beginning. I'm up to page 28 :woohoo: Then I started to read about the plans being made for shirts and meeting times and I thought "OH NO", I might get left out :scared: Can't let that happen....So, right quick here's my deal:
Live in Va Beach VA
Been to WDW more times than I can count
Crusing with:
DH (39)
Me (35)
DS (10) We'll bein WDW on his 10th B-Day on the 23rd
DM (70) Getting ready for a surprise 70th B-Day trip to Lancaster, PA
DF (68)

My church just had their VBS for which I was the director  Now, that it's over maybe I can finally catch up. I'm taking notes on who has kids my son's age, etc. I feel a bit like a stalker :rolleyes1

Can't wait to talk to you guys again,

Kim

Holly I truly will miss not getting to know you better on this trip but Panama sounds awesome too.

Woogal, we LOVE zucchini bread. Haven't seen any to buy yet (other than the stores. I can taste it already. Do you freeze your extra? If I can get enough I freeze it in 2 cup freezer bags so I can just pull it out of the freezer in the middle of winter...what a treat!

Thanks Dawn! I've been hemming & hawing for quite some time on whether I should just cancel, partly because of how miserable my Florida trip was with my son misbehaving so much, then I was considering finances. I was trying to hang onto this cruise until the payment deadline arrived. Then over the weekend I stumbled across the St. Thomas deal. I decided that was my answer! :thumbsup2 HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can meet up with some of you the day you're in St. Thomas since I'll be staying there that whole week!!!!!!!!!

:welcome: KIM AND FAMILY!!!

Welcome to our humble little family of Banana Heads! I'll send you a PM shortly about the Cruisemate List.

Sorry for the short post ... I bicycled about 14 miles over the weekend and my back and knee are killing me, so I'm headed home!

By the way Shell, I'm still gonna meet you and Mutt when you guys come to Michigan to see Jan & Dave. :yay:

Welcome Kim:dance3: glad we didn't scare you away!!

Holly, so sorry you won't be going with us but it looks like you have found an amazing alternative:cloud9:

Woogal, I just made my husband baked Zucchini and he ate the whole thing. You make it like lasagna, layer Zucchini, breadcrumb and parm cheese, when you get to the top finish it off with Mozzarella Cheese. I used four zucchini's and only filled up and 8x8 pan half way.

Thanks! Yup, I found a bit of heaven for a week! Of course, nothing compares to a Disney cruise, but since my budget won't allow 2 cruises so close together, this will keep me happy! :thumbsup2

Welcome Kim & Family! I'm new too. So we can be newbies together.

Holly- I checked out the link and I will be anxious to hear how it works out for you! How are airfare costs to St. Thomas?

:welcome: KIM AND FAMILY:welcome:

I am so happy you decided to post. We are a bit crazy here but harmelss for the most part, so dont let us scare you away. Just jump right in and start posting.

I am the origianal OP of this thread and it is really grown a lot since it started.
My name is Kathy and DH is Greg.
it will just be the two if us this time.
But many others will have kids.
It iwll be out 16th cruise and 15th on Disney.

If you have any questions about ports or excursions please feel free to ask . Several of us went on this same cruise last year too, so between all of us we can probably get your questions answered.

Holly ,
you have to meet the Magic while we are in port so we can at least say hello. It will be hard since we will all have excusions but please keep in touch and maybe we can work out a place and time to meet.
If we dock instead of tendering the tram is only a 5 minute walk from the port,
so we wont be far away form where you will be staying.

I often make Zuchini breads and cookies but now all the kids are gone so not enough people here to eat it. So I dont do as much as i use to and i have to freeze it or give it away to the neighbors.

Today I made a Fire Engine red cake. I made it sugar free and lightened up the calories some. It looks like it came out good. Tonight when they cut into it will tell the tale.

Right now everyone has gone out to a Mexican restaurant for dinner , so no cooking for me and they went to the candy discount store this afternoon and came back with a huge stash of sweets!!!

So, you expect me to believe that you were able to get 18 cups of shredded zucchini out of one tuber? You have GOT to be kidding me!:sad2:

:wizard: Welcome Kim and family. There is myself Dawn and my two grandsons that will be cruising this November. They will both be 11 at the time of the cruise, Skylar and Christian. We also LOVE WDW and been there lots of times. We'll leave in a month and be at POP for 17 days!

OK Kathy, you made a sugarfree cake and they brought home lots of candy! ;) I guess it's a good thing that it was sugarfree!

You're right ... I said that wrong (hang on to this post Bob. You'll never see that again :upsidedow ). 2 cups per recipe, which makes 3 loaves. So 6 cups total from 1 zucchini!

Dawn ... I make the zucchini bread now and freeze it for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It always comes out perfect.

Christine ... Thanks for the tip. We were talking about that yesterday. We've had eggplant parm, and I figured, why wouldn't Zucchini parm work? So you've confirmed it for us!

I just found American Airlines, Detroit to St. Thomas, $441 (taxes included). Spirit has a flight for $487. So even if I pay up to $500, I'll still be happy because that plus the $500/week stay is still saving me $3,000.00! :woohoo: :yay:

Kathy, I'll definitely do that. I remember how short the walk is. :goodvibes Very convenient! I'll just take the tram down and can walk over. It will be kind of neat staying in a place where I'll have to take the tram up and down all the time! :cool2:
