My Bill's brother is quite the Caribbean traveler and has gone to St. John's without a specific tour. He always plans the family vacations (non DCL) and knows where, when, and how to get to places. I will see what I can find out -- I'm curious about it myself. (This is the same guy who took Bill to Sapphire Beach for the first time. . .)

Thanks Cheri - We have actually been to St. John's before. We went when Elizabeth was 2 or 3 and stayed at the Westin for a week. it was a great trip. I'm mostly curious about the timing of doing St. John's on your own from STT since I don't want to miss the ship!

And Kathy - thanks for the good luck for tonight. We mostly need luck that the meet will actually take place as we are having occasional torrential rains here and may have storms later (when the meet is to take place). Just found out we have to wait until 7 before they cancel so it may be a loud and wild couple of hours hanging out at the pool waiting for them to decide on canceling. Wish me luck on THAT!

:rotfl: :rotfl:

Boy is it quiet here today.

we got rain tonight :woohoo:

That is all the news I have.
Pretty pathetic huh??

have a good evening everyone,

Kathy

Bummer. After all the warm ups and set up, the rain and lightening rolled in. the worst part was the 40 minutes trapped in the lobby of the Y with at least 250 loud people waiting to see if the meet would be canceled. My ears are still ringing. Oh and Elizabeth got whapped in the nose during warmups. Big nosebleed. Swimming pool. not a good combination.

as they say, tomorrow is another day.

Gottcha! I'm still interested to know if something independent is doable. (I remember my BIL -- not to be confused with my "BILL"!!)giving plenty of details about the ferry before last cruise; hopefully he has a good memory!!!)

How far in advance will we know if we are tendering? I think that will make a huge difference.

Jeff -- sorry the meet was canceled AFTER you got to be stuck in the lobby with the crowds! How's that cocktail tonight????:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I am so glad there is talk about St. John. We have our St. Marten day planned since it was so great last time, we plan to repeat the same day.... Shopping and lunch and beach time at the Kon Tiki beach at Orient Beach.
Keep those thoughts going for St. Johns. I am now referring to my current cruise list- will add a picture soon as I get back from the grandfather trip. Can't wait to meet the people I am getting to know by the postings!
Judy

Morning all,
Judy I will be watching for your photo in the next edition of the list.:goodvibes

Jeff, so sorry to hear about the meet.
How is Elizabeth's nose doing today? I hope it isnt real sore for her.
Sometimes those nose bleeds can be pretty scary for a child and the parent too.

Cheri,
I cant remember right now but there is a web site that shows who is tendering . I will try to find out where it is and let you know about it, if I can find it.

Off to run a few errands this morning. I will check back later,

Kathy

Cheri: Are youze guyz interested in doing the island tour with us on St. Maarten, or are you determined to make a casino wench crack a smile?

Hi all. Elizabeth is fine today which is good coz she had some nosebleed issues earlier this year but the bonk in the pool didn't seem to have any major impact.

SLow lazy day in my office today as I'm trying to catch up on some stuff. Having some landscaping done today and already have a great feel for it working out just as we had hoped. Is'nt it nice when it happens that way?

I was able to change our reservations for our August Disney trip using an AP rate and saving us some bucks this morning, so that was fun. We're staying at the Yacht Club, one of my two favs.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Shell - Thanks for the list:cool1:

Kathy - so sorry about your daughter:grouphug: . Hope she's doing OK.

Well we are really close to opening up. We are just waiting for some glass to be installed, which may take up to two weeks. Once that's installed we will open. We will have a tasting party for all of our family and friends the night before we open (of course you are all invited), just to make sure we are ready:scared:.

It's been really hot here. Over the weekend it reached 110 both days. We just stayed inside with the A/C on high. We haven't seen rain in a couple of months but this is normal for Vegas. It's just funny that tomorrow is the official start of summer since it's felt like summer since April. Usually by this time we are tired of summer and can't wait for it to be fall...which is usually in the 90's:eek:

So has anyone started a packing list? I love to pack for vacation and always start planning at least 6 months before I leave. I kind of have an idea of what I will be wearing each night. My DH is much easier to pack for because he will wear clothes twice on vacation....I however will not:confused3. I was going to get a Tux for him but decided the just bring a black suit and get him a really nice tie and shirt. That way I only have to pack one Jacket and one pair of black pants and he could get three to four nights use of them. I plan on bringing two dressy dresses and one gown (I love to get dress up). I am hopeing only bring a few pairs of shoes but I usually wind up with about 10 pairs:scared1: what, most of them are flip flops so they don't take up much space. Well that's about it for now. I try to keep up but will take full advantage of Kathy's pass :woohoo:

Evening all,

Christine, your lucky we dont all live close or we would show up for the free food!! my DH is a great pizza critic since I use to have a pizza place myself. Of course that means he has to eat a few pieces of each and every kind you have.:lmao: Take a picture of the place for us to see if you get the chance.

Jeff,
I am glad Elizabeth's nose is ok. When is the next meet?? Do they have one a week? I will be rooting for her.

well I am off to do the dishes.

Kathy

Thanks Kathy. The next meet is tomorrow (Thursday) and the weather forecast is for sunny skies...so it looks like this one is "on"

I will keep my fingers crossed for good weather!!
Let us know how the team does. hopefully no more bumps to the nose.

Thanks for all this great information! I'll have to go hook the ol' laptop to the printer and print it out for future reference. If we can get lucky enough to NOT tender, it's doable. . .

On St. Maarten, I imagine we will be working on making all the casino workers smile!!:) :rotfl: :rotfl:

However, I'd like to find a way to get over to the airport beach. . .I guess it depends on DD since I don't want to go to the other side of the island without her.. .those beeper signals only go so far

Good thing I have a couple months to figure it out!

Howdy all,

It's another HOT one in Florida today.
I have to get busy packing for a carnival cruise (sorry Mickey) in 9 days, but other than that it is pretty quiet around here today.

Anybody have any plans for the weekend??

Kathy

Good morning everyone, I am going to try to do a better job of sending a quick note more often.

Christine, thanks for letting me know I am not the only one thinking about packing and those darn shoes!! I know I will end up with far too many. The dress up wear is hard for me. Almost never get very dressed up other than the seldom business attire at work, but that won't do, so I am struggling with that one. The big problem for me is getting dress clothing for my son as he still does not know about this trip!! I am doing so well at keeping this huge secret from him:woohoo: , but the suits and shoes for him are really going to be hard.

Kathy, weekend plans....hanging at the pool and relaxing and watching my son play in the little league all star game on Saturday  Best ball player on his team this year and voted by the coaches to be on the all star team!

Thanks also for the great schedule info for a St. John excursion. I want to get there, but still have a lot of investigating to do about what will be best, but the ferry schedule is a great start. Thanks.

Well, enough about me, have a great day everyone.

   WOOHOO!!!! N'AWLINS IN 33 HOURS!!!

Why do I get the feeling by the time you return from your trip it will look like another hurricane blew through there:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Guess I will tune in the news this weekend to see what you've been up to:lmao:

have fun!! Tell Wendy Hi for me:thumbsup2
