I downloaded the sample for my kindle last night and thought it was interesting, but I think I will wait and see if it comes down in price, IRC, it was $16 or $17!!!!!!
Love it.. I've been reading it via my Nook with the one hour reading for free per day.
I'm on page 775.. so not much left.
It reminds me so much of my favorite King book, The Dead Zone. I also liked the other book nods-- the Sunliner, Derry, the area in Florida from Duma Key..
It isn't a scary thriller, more like a psychological thriller. It's a time travel story with many historical facts thrown in. There is some violence (shooting/knife fight) and some cursing but not crap your pants stay up until 3 am staring out the window scary.
Just so you know, the book does not start in Dallas, with Kennedy and the motorcade driving by.. the book leads up to that, but that isn't the beginning.
I will say that the ereader sample is generous at 105 pages. I usually get the sample, and if I like it I go in store and read it for free. I can read at least 100-150 epages in an hour, so that is why I am almost done.
I loved it! It is just like what I imagine being back in the late 50s/early 60s would be like. It really made me think, "What would *I* do if given the chance to go back in time?" (I think I would go back and spy on my parents as early teens...what was their life like?!?)
It's long, but like all King books, reads VERY fast....
