Is anyone NOT going to have/get a passport for this cruise? We were planning on getting them this summer, but now I'm starting to rethink that idea. Technically we don't need them and they cost a big chunk of $$$ that I'd rather not spend right now. I'm still on the fence though. :confused3

We got our passports last fall. I was also of the understanding that everyone would need them. Thankfully, that's one expense I don't have to think about now.

We've been looking at excursions for GC and I've run into a question that I'm sure someone here can answer. Do the excursion vendors adjust their departure times to match when the ships dock? I have an old (2005) Birnbaum's DCL guide and one of the excursions we are considering has departure times listed as 7:45 am and 1:40 pm. If we are only supposed to be at GC from 11:00 - 4:30 neither of these departure times would work. I checked the DCL website, but they don't list departure times that I could find.

I'm glad the Traveling Turkey's website has the schedules listed because I haven't seen times for any of the ports any where. Maybe I just don't know where to look. :confused3

Joan--Here is what the DCL site lists (what I used for the website) (http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/dcl/en_US/cruises/detail?name=7NightWesternCaribbeanCruiseLandingPage)
Cruise Itinerary:
10/25/08, 11/22/08 and 12/20/08 Only Day Port Ashore Onboard
Saturday Port Canaveral — 4:00 p.m.
Sunday Castaway Cay 8:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
Monday At Sea — —
Wednesday Cozumel 8:00 a.m. 4:45 p.m.
Tuesday Grand Cayman 11:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m.
Thursday At Sea — —
Friday Castaway Cay 9:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
Saturday Port Canaveral 7:35 a.m. —

You'll notice that they have the days out of order. When I called DCL they told me that Cozumel was on Tuesday and Grand Cayman was on Wednesday. When Susan, DisneyPoor, called, DCL told her the opposite (GC on Tuesday, Coz on Wed). I put a message in with my TA to call but haven't heard anything back. I too wish there was a way to know what times the excursions leave before 90 day mark. I want to know exactly what we're booking before it's time to actually book.

Sandy-I forgot to say I LOVE the sign.

The letter DCL sent me says Cozumel on Tuesday and Grand Cayman on Wednesday. Thanks for the link with the itinerary; I obviously didn't dig far enough into the website. I went to "my reservation" which only listed where on what day.

I wonder if the times for excursions are available once bookings open. I agree that it would be difficult to book without knowing departure/return times. That would make me nervous. :worried:

We were under the impression we had to have them so we got them a few months ago. I guess it's a good idea but they really are an additional expense. I'd rather have the money to put toward an excursion or to shop!:dancer:

Is anyone going to the Disney Fan Meets in PA next week?
I registered but I guess I didn't pay or something in time and it was sold out.
I'll know better next year! :sad1:

Hi all, I know this is a little off track but has anyone vacationed in Myrtle Beach, SC? We're meeting my brother there this weekend for a week's vacation together and wanted to know if there are any sights, museums, etc. not to be missed. Although we all know Disney is our first choice, I'm hoping a few of you have had to settle for less in order to save for that next cruise! :lmao: Thanks and hope you all have a great weekend.

Lorie,

We went to MB in 2004. There is a huge bass pro shop that we liked walking thru. Also a resturaunt called the Giant Crab--can't miss it = has a huge crab on the roof. I've heard mixed revues, but we liked it.

If everyone could, I need a little pick me up. I paid off our cruise on Monday. I woke up with a maigraine on Tuesday, and had to miss work. I woke up Wednesday and went to work, but by 8:15 and only seeing one patient, my migraine was back and I was staggering around. My charge nurse called the MERT team--Medical emergency response team--of which one of the members was DH Bob. I got sent to the ER and admitted.

I just got home and of course had to check the DIS.

Lora,

I'm so sorry you have not been well! I've suffered from migraines my entire life, and they are no fun!:sad2: I do think it's hilarious that you've checked the DIS first thing. That sounds like something I would do!:rotfl: Hope you're better!

Susan

Lora--Here's a pic of Castaway Cay to cheer you up. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Thanks so much for the info, the giant crab sounds almost Disney inspired. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I hope you are feeling better. Migranes are the worst. Lay back, close your eyes and smell the salt air. Imagine the shades of blue of the ocean. Do you feel the warm breeze and the sunshine on your face? Oh, the breeze just picked up and some sand gently blew across your feet and your legs. Look - here comes Ricardo your cabana boy bringing you a Konk Kooler. Now doesn't that taste good? The sun is getting hot isn't it? Perhaps you should walk to the ocean and cool off. Don't forget to take your float. Now you're floating on the gently rocking sea. Enjoy your stay at Castaway Cay! :beach:

My DS just informed me that he emailed your DS. I'll let him know he'll be home this week! :surfweb:

We got both the kids home from camp yesterday and went out for supper to celebrate our exciting news.

There is a new super coming in March of 2009!!!! Yes, we're still able to go on this cruise, I only had to learn that lesson once.

Stacie,

That is so exciting! I was talking to Brian about it last night (cause I figured that had to be what the news was) and trying to calculate how far along you'd be for the cruise. I'm so glad that it all worked out that you can still go!:thumbsup2 What was the kids' reactions? I bet they are excited! Andy is going to have a playmate---that's so exciting! I can't wait to talk to you!:goodvibes

I just checked on www.portime.com and it appears that the Wonder and Magic will both be in CC on our second stop (11/28). Can anybody verify this?
