11/17/12 It's a Magical TEXAS Thanksgiving with the Mouse!

FE info? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? We really would like info so we could decide about joining the FE group exchange, thanks! :)

Welcome.

If you go back to page 15, post #222 - Dagny is collecting the information for the FE. The list she has posted there isn't current, as several families have joined since then - but she is the one that is taking care of the FE.

If you wouldn't mind, I've been trying to keep up with new additions as well -I would appreciate it if you would PM me the stateroom #s so I can add you to my copy of the list Dagny started.

Welcome on board Lisa pixiedust:

For those doing FE, I have a question: are we putting "treats" in those rooms everyday or one time only? Wanted to make sure we got enough treats to cover. Thanks.

We never said, so I assumed (like my last fe) that it was up to each persons discretion.

I've never cruised with DCL before. My intentions (unless someone sets different guidelines) was to hit each stateroom once with goodies.

Joining in. Reservations Placed and confirmed today. Hubby will be home for a few weeks from his deployment. It is just him, me, and our son who will be turning 12 on the cruise.

I hope to be able to go back thru and read all the posts. It has been 6 years since we last cruised with Disney and are excited to be finally going again.

Welcome!! What a wonderful way to spend time with your DH upon his return.

Thanks so much! So I looked @ the list and as of that list, there are only 7 staterooms. I know you said it isn't current, but you've been keeping your own personal list current, so how many staterooms is it up to now? If you could give me that info, that'd be GREAT! We're trying to decide if we want to participate this time around or not, so once we finally decide, I'll make sure I post and then PM you the info.

Thanks again for the 411! :thumbsup2

If I missed anyone, please holler.

Okay, now it's 12 staterooms. Fatfish switched to one of those awesome 8 night ones being offered in the Spring. Yes - I will admit I'm jealous!

So, for now - unless I missed someone. . .it would be

Looks good to me.

Thanks for all of the welcomes. I am looking forward to this cruise. I have a 9 year old daughter who does not have a clue that we will be spending Thanksgiving with Mickey. :rolleyes1

We have cruised once before with DCL and have spent every summer at WDW since I brought my daughter home in 2004 except for this past summer. We went to Hawaii instead of our regular trip to WDW. Yes, we did visit Aulani. Outstanding resort!!!!! We have decided that our mission now is to visit all 50 states before my daughter graduates from high school. If you see the bottom ticker, we will be visiting Alaska in June. After we visit Alaska, we will have been to the two most difficult states to visit.....and will be able to get our Disney fix while visiting each. :cool1:

I do have a question. What pens have you used in the past for autographs on pillow cases?

Lisa

Thanks for your help.

Wow. I'd love any information about Aulani. We are booked there next summer.

We did Alaska last year & this year (not with DCL though). I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!!

My DDs know nothing about this cruise either. They turn 9 the week before we go - so we booked it as a birthday surprise for them.

It's my first time doing pillowcases (cause last time we didn't take the kids) but I read a recommendation for sharpie stained pens, we'll see!

I was at Walmart recently and they had a display that had sharpies in every color imaginable that you could buy individually. Will be going back to check on sharpies for my son's pillowcase....which I need to get ordered. Found some really cute ones on etsy. :)

Hello Everyone,

We're sailing on the Thanksgiving cruise as well. It'll be me, DH, DS (13) and DD (11). We're from The Woodlands.

Hi everyone! We're also going to be on Disney Magic for Thanksgiving week, me, DH, DDs (8 and 6). We're from Spring, TX. Anyone else from Spring? We've been on Magic before (Mediterranean 3 yrs ago) and found tons of helpful info on cruise critic.

Hi Julie---Heidi mentioned you were on this cruise. It seems like so long ago that we all sailed together on the Med. We're starting to get excited about this one!

I asked the person from etsy who is making the pillowcase for my daughter about the best pens to use for autographs. She said the sharpies tend to fade. Has anyone had this problem?

Lisa

A suggestion for fade free pens that I have received is fabrico fabric pens. They can be found on amazon. Anyone know anything about these pens?

Lisa

I didn't know that about sharpies....curious to know myself because I do want to use the right thing so the pillowcase doesn't fade. Will check out the markers you recommended and do some googling.

Here is an updated list of the F/E exchange.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AsmkQNaikh9OdHdTcHFfaEdDdmVXQmlUV2JtZkxnaVE

This is a list of everyone that has PM'd me - it looks like there may be others participating that had not PMd me.

You should be able to download the list from google docs, hopefully I set the privacy settings correctly.

We, unfortunately, had to cancel our cruise recently. We are very sad, but my parents are moving to GA to be closer to my brother and we are feeling obligated to visit them in their new house for Thanksgiving, sigh.

Hope you all have a great time!

I'm sorry to read you had to cancel. Thankfully DCL will be here for a while longer, so I hope you'll get to benefit from it's closeness later.

Thank you for taking the time to share the updated list with us!

This cruise looks pretty full.

How can you tell?

I was guessing being Thanksgiving this one would sell well. I noticed when DCL announced specials for the Galveston cruises this week was the only one specifically listed as being excluded from the specials. Not even Christmas was blacked out.

Mostly because there are less rooms available and the prices have gone up again.
