Help! I am going bleeping nuts. WHERE ARE MY DOCS? I guess I am just so looking forward to this cruise that I have been planning for a year, and I hear all these stories of people who receive docs 6 weeks out. I want my fun to begin, and for me, that is the day my docs arrive, making the whole thing official.

What is the latest you have ever received your documents for the Magic?

Thanks!

I know this is not what you want to hear, but on one of our six cruises, documents arrived three days before cruise date! It was a 7 day western and when we booked we were a Cat6 Gty. As we got close to the panic stage with constant calls thru out TA to DCL, we found that up to the last week we still hadn't been assigned a room! So while many people think a Gty is the way to an upgrade, it can also be the way to a panic attack. BTW we were not upgraded.
Everything turned out fine! However, at one point our TA said it is possible we may not get docs before cruise date, and then we would go to the port and get everything there. Did not happen, and I have never heard of it happening! DCL did overnight out docs when they were finally issued. Changed TAs, although they were not the problem. Just felt they could have been more helpful. Now use DU with great success!
For our other cruises, got Docs 2-4 weeks ahead. Going 11/29 and waiting (im)patiently!!

We will be on the cruise right after yours. I too am waiting patiently for our docs. :scared:

Have a great trip!

Although not DCL we had this happen on Norwegian and it is very stressful. We ended up not getting our docs OR our plane tickets (this was pre 9-11 thankfully) but we had to just show our written itinerary from the travel agency to get our flight tickets and then at the port we just showed our ID and they took care of the rest! It is so stressful though! On our last Carnival cruise our of LA not too long ago we got the docs as we were packing up the car to leave for the airport..talk about cutting it close! I dont know why it differs but sometimes it does! Maybe you should call your TA and start asking questions..they might make you feel better.

Have a fun trip regardless though!

I found that on the two DCL cruises that I booked on my own, I received the documents about 4 to 6 weeks ahead of our cruise date. When we went on our last DCL cruise that I transfered over to AAA, I got the documents about 2 1/2 weeks prior to our cruise. I was told that this was because they first had to go to the group desk at AAA in Tampa and be sorted out and then sent to the individual AAA offices to be picked up by the clients. Considering how anal I am about planning and being in control, I hated it! For our January cruise, I booked once again directly with DCL so I'm back in control!

I agree with the control issue. I booked though a travel agent and what a pain it is. I can't call Disney directly to do anything as they tell me it is through an agent and I should call them. My agent takes more trips that she isin the office so it has proven to be a real pain. Next time I will book directly through Disney.

Thanks for all the stories. Glad to know that most of you did eventually receive them in time. I am just such a compulsive planner (it is the teacher in me!) that I can't wait to cross every t and dot every i on those forms. Really it is the fact that once the docs come, the real countdown can start. (Almost like sending out wedding invitations!)

We used DU and hope that won't delay them too long. Donna from DU called for me about a week ago and they still hadn't even been printed. It drives me crazy that I can't call DCL myself to get any info.

Thanks again. I guess I will go back to my perch on the edge of the couch and keep looking out the window, jumping at every truck that rumbles by. A watched pot does eventually boil!

Peg - there are a bunch of us on the 11/15 cruise thread that have been keeping track of when our docs are arriving! Mine just arrived yesterday by courier and we had booked through DU. Still a couple of folks who haven't received them yet as well. Keep the faith! I was actually disappointed when I got them as there's not much to them other than lots of legall stuff and some blanks to fill in!

We are on the 11/22 Magic and we got our docs last week, sorry I know that is not what you want to hear. Most of those cruisers got theirs 2 weeks ago. I do know that if you booked Disney Air, you normally don't get your docs until right at 2 weeks before. If you don't book Disney Air, you normally get them 4 weeks before. If you have a TA, then sometimes the docs will get held up in the Ta's office, normally not the very good ones! Hope this helps.

We are not using Disney Air, we booked direclty with the airlines, so that can't be what is holding them up. I know when I used DU to book a cruise on Carnival (yuck, but that is a separate story, ) the docs arrived directly from DU. However, the agent at DU says that DCL sends them direclty to me. Oh well. Hope they come soon! Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Peg, I'm also on the 11/15 cruise and I haven't received my docs yet!!! My TA is quite sick of me asking... :D He told me that his corporate office gets them first (he's a CruiseOne consultant) and then they'll mail them to him. I was hoping to get a phone call by the end of this week, but it hasn't happened yet.

BTW, please join us on our thread. We'd love to get to know you!! We're a great big bunch of silly people!
