Scrapbookers, did you know there is a Scrapbook board on the DIS? I don't remember seeing many of your names from over there! It's in the Creative community link.

Ahhh, yes... I lurk there quite often. It's responsible for my current obsession with the "Life's a Beach" Cricut cartridge (that I have yet to purchase)...

Unfortunately, I'm working a lot of late hours -- actually at work right now! :sad1:. So, I might not be on that often -- xxcel is keeping me in the loop.

Thanks for the warm welcome :flower3: and all the great info. I love all the cool postings.

I will read up and do my best to catch up to all of you...Pros :) I should have named myself "The Newbie"...I can get lost in all these postings..how the heck do you all keep up?

3 months til the cruise...can't believe it and need it!

Really...really...really looking forward to all the fun...this will be the best cruise yet!!! :cool1:

Oh, I can just tell you and I are gonna get along great! At least I hope we are.... I'm so glad you came to be part of the fun.

I think soo too!!!

There's a link in my signature that goes to a page where it was explained. Maybe that would help?

Thank you so much for the info -- I'll check that out.

Yeah, you and I are gonna get along great!!! Like I don't love to talk? And PC help is something I CANNOT do. I'm a programmer... put me in a room with a fresh supply of Mt. Dew and popcorn and I can code all day long and make a computer sing. But to deal with folks at a help desk? I would be out of work within a day or so. I just don't have the patience. Sooner or later I'd tell someone "please take your computer back to the store because you just don't have an idea of how to use it. I'm sure you're a very nice person and all but ... um... no."

See... I do much better as a programmer. :woohoo:

I work with programmers all the time...love 'em -- they know how to have fun....they love me cause I keep the end users out of their hair ;-)

I work for a software company and do implementations and support for our products. One of the very first calls I took was from someone that was going to use our software and he asked me if he needed a PC! :rotfl:That was 10 years ago and after a day like today, it still makes me laugh until I cry.

I worked as a tax software tester/analyst/programmer many years ago. My nickname was the Bug Queen because I was so good at breaking the program. When asked how I did it, I would reply, "Simple, I just put on my Stupid User hat". :rotfl2:

Tech support at the company had an inside joke that they played on people who would call to report that they had forgotten their password. We would have them input the override password BYDI, which would allow them access to the program to change their password. What they didn't know was that the acronym was Boy, You Dumb Idiot. :lmao:

Well...Back in April, I got back to work after a week in Hawaii and tried to logon at work. Kept getting -sorry, don't recognize that password--. I thought "Oh no, I'm one of those people forgetting the password!" - like your BYDI. Came to find out that my supervisor needed to access my files when I was gone and had IT reset my password!!

In patient profiles we had the acronym PITA along the top...Pain in the a--.
You get the picture:lmao: :rotfl2:

Oh yes, Yes, YES!!!!! Absolutely!!!

That's definitely an "eye dee ten tee" error (say it and then write the letters/numbers).

I loved folks like you that worked internally because y'all found stuff before the client did. I have given up on being perfect -- I've figured out that I'm NEVER gonna catch every bug. So I love internal folks that can.

And I'm gonna have to remember that backdoor password. Very nice!

I'd never heard that until a few months ago but I love PITA!!! (or is it I love being a PITA?????)

My favorite error is what they call a PEBCAK error.... Problem Exists Between Chair and Keyboard.

Oh, and about the spreadsheet.... y'all please either go out there and indicate how many adults and how many kids in your room are participating in the FE or PM me with the info so I can get it in. I wasn't thinking in advance the other day and I put 1s in column AJ which is the one about putting a 1 if someone in the room is participating in the FE and 0 if no one is. That's how I was counting up FE cabins. But then I went and put in the columns about # of adults participating and # of kids participating. Well, now there's some confusion because there's a 1 in the "room is participating" but nothing in the others.

I THINK what's happened is folks just haven't had a chance to put in the adult/child numbers if their room is participating. But just to cut down on the confusion please either go fill it in or PM me the info. Thanks!

/me back to the project

Only 100 days until your cruise sets sail!

:woohoo: Tomorrow officially starts the Dance Season! Double-digit Dance, that is!!:dance3:

You gals are making me laugh so much! As an engineering tech, I used to be able to trouble shoot my own computers - but then they got so DARN complex. I SO needed tech support but hope I was not a PITA - PEBCAK? Oh yeah, I resembled that, lol

OMG. Speaking of being an idiot.....

I went to look up our meet thread today and couldn't find it!!! There were no subscription check marks by any of the threads on any pages. :scared1: I was in a momentary panic. Had the thread been deleted? Was I hallucinating (most likely scenario)? Then I realized that I was on the computer at the vacation house, so for security purposes I made sure that I had to sign in each time I visited the boards. And guess what I hadn't done? Yep, signed in!! Once I did that, the subscription check mark was right in front of my face. Most definitely PLBCAK! :rotfl2:

Woo hoo! I have November park hours and Tour Guide Mike has already written up his Least Crowded Park Days chart. So I've got our itinerary all set for WDW. Now I'm working on our Touring Plans. DSIL and DNe will be visiting us at WDW for a few days too. My DD's haven't seen their new cousin yet, so they're very excited. I even bought a few SM gifts this week while browsing in the shops on our vacation. :yay:

Well, we're off to the county fair. Carnival rides, Pig-n-Ford races, funnel cakes, elephant ears, horse races, and entertainment galore! What's not to like?

You are really organzied...I love it! How many days are you in WDW? I am trying to convince DH to tag on a few more days after the cruise since its free dining...but I am nervous about the crowds...

County Fair sounds divine!

I have a question: Does DU travel agent send me an email to let me know when I can book Palo etc...?

Susie - is it possible to add your days before the cruise? Thanksgiving week can be very busy. The year DH had his surgery and he and I missed the reunion cruise on the Wonder for Thanksgiving, our boys all went to the parks before the cruise (like Saturday - Tuesday) and they all said it was the most crowded they had ever seen. Now mind you - we always went in October or early November. But, they did have a good time none the less. .

I don't think that Dreams will call you (they never did me) but I always call DCL to verify that our castaway number is on the cruise. I just count backwards 90 days on the calendar. I have also noticed that I can fill out the credit card document at the 90 day mark as well and that date is listed on our reservation online at DCL and matches my calendar count. I get to either stay up or get up at midnight this coming Sunday morning for our first cruise and then next Sunday for this one.

Becky - have a funnel cake for me!

Unfortunately, we can't add our days at WDW to the beginning of our vacation but we're only there for 3 days so hopefully it won't be too bad. We'll take advantage of Tour Guide Mike too - I just wish he would release the Nov. 16- 30 least crowded parks info so I can organize my 2 days!!

Cheers,
Lisa

We're going to be in WDW for 10 days prior to the cruise (6 @ WDW, 3 @ Universal/IOA/Wet-n-Wild). This is the girl's first visit, so we wanted to be able to take our time and enjoy everything.

I second this. The week before the cruise is a low-crowd week, while Thanksgiving week is a mess. You're nice and relaxed coming off the cruise and.....BAM!!! Wall to wall people at WDW. What a buzz kill.

Gail, I had a corn dog, elephant ear, marionberry waffle cone, and roasted sweet cashews for you. A couple of carnies had to forklift me back to my car.

He started on it right after he published the Nov 1-15 charts yesterday. I'd guess that it should be up by the weekend.

What, no vinegar fries?!? That was always my favorite thing to have at the fair when I was growing up in SC. I really should try to make some at home. But before I try that I have to find the time to try making that divine cheddar soup they have at Epcot-Canada.

For everyone checking Tour Guide Mike, I've heard great things about him. Somewhere else you might want to look at is touringplans.com. They have some fantastic information too.

Oh and guess what...... I put in for a job in Orlando yesterday. I'm not getting my hopes up or anything. The recruiter sent my resume on to the company so we'll see what happens. Wouldn't that be just AWFUL to live near Orlando? But it might help to heal this little *thing* that seems to have developed between KC and Ole' Sticky Hands. So see... I'd just be doing my Christian duty and trying to be a peacemaker if I take the job (if it's offered). Yeah... that's the ticket.

BTW, KC... I thought I saw him peeking around the corner of the house yesterday. I thought he was looking at the woodstacks but it sounded like he was muttering some numbers. I dunno... maybe I misheard.

I wish we could go to WDW before or post cruise. We live so close, you think I would go more often. I avoid it during the summer because of the crowds and the weather. when we lived in Miami, further than we are now, we went alot more, and usually October or November. Economically, it's harder with 3 kids now. We do usually go over their spring break every year. Traveling is also easier now since my yougest is 5, and I don't have to worry about diapers and such. Now the kids are into alot of extracurricular activities during the school year. I may say if we can splurge and maybe stay a couple nights post cruise since the kids are already out of school the next week. My DH has to go back to work on Monday. Maybe I'll send him back with a rental car. :) Need to go see how much tixs are since they just raised prices.

i haven't had carnival food in a long time. I want some now.
Orlando would be nice-good luck. I got excited once when a recruiter called DH about a job at WDW. He didn't know how the recruiter got his name. I guess just out in the industry. My DH said not too get excited, that the chances of him getting the job was very slim. I said so, at least get your feet into the door, and well that was about it. I was glad he had the opportunity though

Pig-n-Ford races? Is that like a greasy pig catch?

Here at the State Fair of Texas, they make a competition of the fried fair foods. My favorite is the Fried Coke! It's like a cake donut, except they use coke in the batter. YUMMY!

Does anyone have a recommendation on where to buy FE? I am hopelessly bad with the sewing machine, so making my own is not an option. I checked Ebay - there's only one seller and I didn't like any of her designs. Help anyone?
