We have gotten into our typical winter weather pattern around here; it's warm, then it rains, THEN it gets moderately cold, followed by continually warmer days until the next rain. It rained yesterday, so tonight it will get into the mid 30s. They predict a high of 75 on Christmas Day, with a put the blanket away low of 55.

I miss only the associated headaches a snowstorm can bring. Except for maybe a Caribbean beach on a warm sunny day, few things in nature are as beautiful as freshly fallen snow. Please enjoy it for me.

Well, we were in Lowe's last night when I shot this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zS5iiDV7z0

I figure it's just indicative of Christmas in Florida.

Oh, and the fact that it's sideways is indicative of the fact that I don't know how to use my phone properly yet for all it's features. KC's been kind enough to get me a cool 3G phone before they were even popular. Does most of what the iPhone does but it was LOTS cheaper. But I guess I just need to learn how to use it, huh? LOL

It was that kind of snow when your wipers can't keep up - and then they freeze and don't clean. I drive less than 10 miles to work and I stopped 3 times to clean them off. And, it has only just started.

Ick! That's the part of it that I'm glad I've never experienced.

Upon closer examination, I realize that it is dried hot chocolate in a Mickey Mouse head design.

Hidden Mickey's on your counter... now you know you're living right!

DH even cancelled scouts - and that never happens (no kidding, he has been a scout master for 15+ years and this is the first time I can think that he has called one off).

Didn't know you were into Scouts. I've been a leader for years, ever since DS15 was a Bear Cub. But I've kind of let that fade now... just too busy to keep up. But I did the Woodbadge thing (Bobwhites rawk!!!) and even ran a camp for Webelos for the past 5 years. Just cool that we have that in common, IMO.

I can't decide if I'm jealous of your white Christmas or greatful for the 65 degrees they're predicting for Christmas here in Dallas! :rotfl:

Jealous. I'm definitely jealous. See, it's supposed to snow 2 feet on Christmas Eve so everyone can play in the white stuff but then be gone so we don't have to deal with all the headaches.

Hey... it's a Disney group... I can wish for a bit of magic if I'd like! :rotfl2:

Here's for my gals!

I did Cubs but DH has been Boy Scouts for as long as I can remember. Oldest and youngest DS plus DH are Eagle scouts but middle DS went to Croatia as a Rotary exchange student and didn't get his project done. David has not done BS woodbadge but I did cub - Eagle, which fits in nicely with the others I think.

Happy and safe holidays to all

Mini says thanks for all the nanas. She also really liked the snow pics and Walter the dog-she is currently "woofing" next to me.

It is in the upper 40's here-also rained yesterday. Supposed to be high 60's for Christmas.

I had a white Christmas in Canada one year. Was beautiful.

Gail - that looks like our snow. I'll post some pictures when I get a chance...

We spent last Christmas break in Florida and yes, I must admit that I did miss a white Christmas. We were at Animal Kingdom on Christmas Day - it was a very freaky thing. There really wasn't anyone else there until after lunch which was when we were getting ready to head out.

All the shopping is done, we're making (more) cookies for Santa tomorrow and I've only heard one complaint of "I'm bored".... only 2 more sleeps until Christmas.

Cheers,
Lisa

Gifts are wrapped, cookies are baked, dinner is noonish tomorrow and then the unwrapping begins. Tomorrow at this time it will be over. Sad but true.
Everyone have a great holiday!

Hi everyone!

Love those snow pics!!!!! But I think it's going to be relatively warm here tomorrow. Probably the 60s or higher.

Yeah, by this time tomorrow it will be over. But I'll definitely have the video from our little evil plan. I'd love to post here what we're going to do but there's a slight, ever so slight, chance that one of the Eating Machines might decide to take a gander at this board and I just can't take a chance on spoiling it. I can't wait to tell you tomorrow what we did to those children though. Let's just say we're definitely going to give them something to tell their therapist about in later years!!! :rotfl2:

Merry Christmas to everyone!!!! And if you're not Christian, I hope you'll take that in the spirit it was intended as good wishes. In case you haven't guessed yet, I'm just not into the whole politically correct thing and I refuse to go around saying "Happy Holidays". In fact, I'm such a pain in the butt that I make it a point to wish people a Merry Christmas especially after they've wished me Happy Holidays! LOL The way I figure it, the folks that understand it's good wishes no matter what words are used are people I might like to get to know better. Those that get offended at the words need a life and it ain't around me! :rotfl2: So Merry Christmas everyone (because I know everyone on this board is cool!)!!!!

Hypa Can't wait to hear what the surprise was....

SO happy to be chatting with all of you. Can't wait to get to the real stuff-excursions,Palo ressies, spa etc.

  - that's too funny - we've been tracking Santa on that website all afternoon!!

Yes, warmest wishes to everyone! Be sure to eat & drink too much, enjoy your families and friends and make lots of great holiday memories!!

Cheers,
Lisa

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
We are one more month closer to the Big Day :woohoo:

Hope everyone had a fantabulous Christmas!!!!

Okay, and it sounds like I did the right thing by waiting to tell y'all about the Christmas surprise because Eating Machine #1 said something yesterday that made it sound like he'd been on here. So now, you wanna know what we did? Remember, we are NOT nice people. I keep telling people that all the time but nobody believes me. Don't know why. Anyway......

Christmas morning comes around and the boys only have 3 presents under the tree. An individual one for each of them and then one joint one. So they open the individual ones and it was..... but I'm getting ahead of myself.

About 6 weeks ago, Eating Machine #2 was chatting with Dad and said "you know what would be a really funny joke, Dad? If you gave someone old holey socks for Christmas." You know, you'd think after 13 years that boy would know better. <Hypermommy hangs her head and shakes it in disbelief> But I guess not. So, of course, that's what was in their individual presents. Old holey dirty socks that I pulled out of the laundry and wrapped up. Then they opened the big joint one.

King Charming had gone to the liquor store and gotten a Bacardi case. And inside the case was sticks and rocks -- something we've been jokingly giving them for birthdays and Christmas for years. Well, this year it was true. Sticks and rocks and old holey socks. Merry Christmas boys!

I let them sit and think about that for a moment but then I couldn't continue and I went in the bedroom and got present #1 for each of them. It's a little multi-tool thing with knives and compass and magnifying glass and all kinds of stuff that a Boy Scout and a Young Marine could find useful. Merry Christmas boys!

Now to their credit, they did not complain. They even tried to smile. I said something about how they looked disappointed and they both denied it. I reminded them that we're saving for the cruise and they both said they understood.

Ol' Marshmellow Mom here couldn't take it so I went back in the bedroom for present #2. A DVD game of Deal or No Deal and a set of movies, including Dodgeball which I know they like. Merry Christmas boys!

Well, this was a bit better. At least there were something akin to grins on their faces. Not smiles, mind you, but at least Christmas no longer includes just rocks and sticks.

Here goes mom in the bedroom again. One of them mentioned that they're liking this because there's an infinite supply of presents in there. No, not infinite, I said... But I came out with something else for each of them. MP3 players! Now that they liked. Christmas has definitely gotten significantly better than rocks and sticks.

So then it's time for the best present for each of them. I told them I'd do EM#2's first. I brought out a couple of relatively small packages and he started to open them. DS LITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just what he'd been asking for (hinting is waaaaaaay too subtle)!!!!! So he's quite happy now!!!!!!!!!!!

Then I go and bring out EM#1's present. He opens the big box first and it's an amplifier! And then he opens the other and it's his very own electric guitar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So he's quite happy now too!!!!!

See.... told you..... we're not nice people! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Mean would have been the sticks, rocks and holey socks - and nothing more. I would say they made out very well indeed. It is so fun to play with their minds - without causing permanent damage that is:rotfl:

I hope that everyone had a great holiday - and to our Canadian cruisers - I hope your day today is special as well.

(BTW - this is really Michelle, not Vicki, but I updated her siggie and thought this would be a great place to test it!)

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas!!!

Ours was really special. Mom got to relax all morning (I spent it with my Dad), then we headed over to my brother's for the evening. Christmas evening with three girls under 5 who were unbelievably spoiled this year! (Which is what should happen at Christmas.)

To add to that, they found out we're all going to Disney World for a short trip the end of January together. Hence the new ticker! Our trip was upgraded from 7 nights with my aunt to 4 nights with my brother and his family PLUS the 7 nights with my aunt!

Hypermommy, I'm afraid you've given my Mom some ideas with the boxes of socks, sticks and stones...

Hyper - that's quite a story. Me on the other hand is a total push over. My DD counted only one present under the tree 2 days before Christmas and was sulking about it. So what do I do? I went into the spare room (aka present storage room) and feverishly wrapped five more to put under the tree.

Updated my ticker. Grandma decided not to come. I am disappointed but really not surprised. So it is back to the CBR for 2 nights and no Chef Mickey's. Oh well. We will still do the BBB, CRT and MVMCP.
