According to my trusty PassPorter, port hole rooms on deck one have the 2 small portholes. Deck 2 and up port holes have the large picture window style.

You can also see pics at the CastawayClub web site under Staterooms > Deck 1 Dual Portholes. I would insert the link for you but each time I do it doesn't work...so type in www then castawayclub.

Hey Y'all.

Mu hubby and son are wearing suites for Formal Night with matching Mickey Ties. I am wearing floor length dress with the wampin (is that a word?) high heels.

We are also staying at the Radisson the night before. When and where is that DIS meet? We booked the 10:30 shuttle.

Hey adisneymama, I have one of those neat sheets and I love it. In fact, I'm planning on bringing it on the cruise for the trips to the beach! I think it costs about $6-ish and I just realized you can wash it in the washing machine (But Can't Dry It). It has little round weights sewn into 2 of the corners to help weight it down to help with the wind.

As for the formal nite, we are going to rent DH a tux, but I haven't decided what to do for my DS-10. Any suggestions would be nice! He doesn't have a suit, because he grows too fast!! I would love to rent him a tux, but I'm not sure you can do so on the boat. And I'm afraid it would be rather expensive.

This will be my first time on DCL and my first time having a verandah, but I thought that there was plexiglass on the balcony. I don't think there would be any safety issue for Aubrey. I don't think Disney would have something unsafe that ANYONE could fall overboard. So if you REALLY want a verandah, just call and ask about it. Price wise, though, I understand as a reason not to get it. I'm just VERY THANKFUL for my "wish come true"
upgrade!!!

As for pirate nite, we have the same matching tropical outfits as half the cruisers have! I guess we'll have to find something to make it more attire!

Tina - Thanks for the info on the neat sheet! I got a coupon online for $1.50 off, so I think I will make a go of it!

Also, I have read that a child could climb on the furniture and go over the rail? is that not true? Aubrey is an excellent climber and is very fast! She is also good at unlocking things so we were very worried about that. Anyone have any additional info?

I'm not sure the cost of renting a tux for DS but I do think it is possible from what I have read. What about buying him a pair of dress slacks and a vest and tie to match dads? Didn't someone else say that their son and dh were doing the matching ties?

adisney mama the locks are way up high kids can't unlocked it or open it.


no one had fallen over board on the verandah but a teen was on a dare jumped over in to the water he was wet no kttwc on him
he was be near his parents. at all times and the capt was upset.

Don't know how you feel about Ebay but I was on yesterday looking at suits/tuxes and they had some fantastic prices. Might want to try there.

The locks are at the top of the verandah door and the doors are very heavy. I don't think a little one could slide it open.

The window on a cat 8 and the cat 9's on deck 2, are big, huge round portholes. Very nice! But, a word or warning, don't stand naked in front of one, thinking nobody can see you anyway, because just as you do, the guy cleaning the outside of the ship will swing by. (Been there )

To explain Sarah's post a little more.... nobody, that I know of, has ever fallen off their verandah, but a young man, (on a dare) did jump off deck 4 while the Magic was in port (don't know which one). He was ok, but I think he was confined to his cabin, unless he was accompainied by his parents. That little escapade would break my #1 rule for my kids----NEVER EMBARASS YOUR MAMA! (Mainly because, if you read the paragraph above, mom can do it to herself, thank you very much)

Is there anyone else in an inside stateroom? We are going to try for an upgrade, to at least a room with a view at the port but there may be no availability by that time. I don't think our chances of connecting rooms are too good either. I would love a veranda but it would be too costly for our big family.
Are there any Dis vets out there that can tell me where to purchase the internet package for the week? Do we do it when we check in or somewhere else on the ship?
Although I'm sure we won't ever be bored on the ship, my DH's life is computers so I'd like to get it for him

Oh, no, did I skip a planning step?!?!!? We, too, are staying at the Raddisson the night before. Do I need to book the shuttle ahead of time?? Guess I better call and find out.

Happy Saturday everyone!!!

We all know where we will be 7 weeks from now!! Woo-Hoo!! I can't believe that it is so close!!!

Today, I am taking my best friend to the Red Sox/Yankees game in Fenway!! I got free tix from work and the hotel was free from some of my reward points for all the traveling I have been doing for work. All that traveling has been worth it!!

I am a Red Sox fan and Xsydid is a Yankees fan, so you can see why I am not taking him!!! Just Kidding, Xsydid is working a 24 hour shift today, so he is unable to go....It is going to be a great girls night out!!!
