11/13/04 Eastern Cruise only We Did It

I'm glad that there are people going with me on the excurisions too. Athene, you mentioned that your DH is on the 10:30 parasailing trip. I didn't realize that more that one person went per boat but, that's great! Maybe he'd be willing to take some pictures for me since everyone at work thinks I'm going to chicken out. That way I'd have proof. PoohJen, have you done hte catamaran before? I've heard really good things about it.

There are 2 boats used for parasailing and they each hold 10 people.

Good Morning!

Roc - I haven't been on the Golden Eagle excursion before, but I read great things about it!

re: pre-cruise lodgings: we'll be at MIL's. They live 25 minutes from PC, so I'll see you on the ship!!!:Pinkbounc

Meanwhile, I'll be at WDW this weekend, starting with Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at MK on Thursday night!pirate: Care to join me?!!! Staying at POR (Dixie Landings to us old-timers) (if we chat tonite, you'll have to hear all about my ressie nightmares)

Liz, you will LOVE AKL!!! and I love to go to WDW! If y'all haven't been there before, I recommend getting Birnbaum's Guide to WDW. and, if you have any questions, please ask away! I LOVE to talk about WDW!

ok, back to work!:wave2:

UUUGH, can't post now. Must go to work.

House of princesses (Vicki) - I had posted about meeting at Disney the night before. It would be great if we could get others interested.

lovinlife - I have used the Disney busses for both of my other cruises. It wasn't bad, large motorcoach with a bathroom and they show a video (I think it was about the cruise) while you drive. Let's see. I think we made 1 or 2 other stops each time, but still arrived while they were announcing names as you boarded. Not sure about excursions and stuff though because I've always had someone else booking for me (like last year we have 20 or so disser's for brunch in the side room off of Palos).

Okay, really really really have to go. I have literally 2 minutes before I have to be at work. I'll try to check in tonight.

I'm still debating on transpotation from AKL to PC to MCO. My TA has told me that we're to be taking the motorcoach on these 2 legs. I hired a limo from MCO to AKL so we don't have to deal with Mears. Has anyone taken the motorcoach? How was it? What time did you get to the ship? Was it in time to make ressies, etc.? Would we be stopping at other WDW resorts to pick up guests? Should I just take a limo on all 3 legs? Help!!!
Thanks, Liz

We haven't cruised yet so I don't know about the motorcoach, but my parents will be on it from the airport. :)

We're renting a car via Budget from MCO to PC and then one back. They do one-way rentals w/o the extra fee...I'm paying $36 for each of the two days I think for a full size...great deal.

Now, that reminds me, I have to figure out how to get from PC to Budget when the ship returns to port...guess I better call. :)

That is a great deal. I am paying $82 for a one day economy rental this week from Budget (MCO, drop off near WDW). AND...it was the only car I could get - I called 4 other companies before Budget, everyone was sold out! (btw, I need the car for work purposes on Thursday, that's why I'm renting it). At this point I'm just glad to have gotten a car!

Waiting for my scuba equipment to arrive today - yippee! and waiting ever-so-patiently for my turn to do the documents dance!!!::yes::

Ok, here's a little game for y'all. What number do I call to make excursion reservations? Tick Tock, Who'll beat the Clock!!

Yesterday evening I called my DH from work to ask if we had gotten anything "good" in the mail or any packages. He said "No". Then this morning when we opened the front door for my DS to catch the bus, my DH discovered a note from UPS stating I had missed a delivery!!!:crazy2: :faint: The good news is the note said they would be back between 10:30am and 2pm! Needless to say, I'm staying home today!! :teeth:

Tina,

Just don't be disappointed because it won't be your documents. Those won't get to us until next week. :( Groups documents take a little longer. Guess we get more goodies! :teeth:

Jeanna, John talked to Kim this morning and she told him that they were supposed to be shipped out of Florida today.

She told him that we will get them next week. That works out great for me. Even though the wait is killing me, I only work Tues and Wed. next week, so I'll be home to greet their arrival.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Vicki, we had a nice dismeet, last December, at the Boardwalk in front of the Big River Grille. You can park for free there and they have a nice outside seating area if the weather is good.

Jen, can't wait to hear about your ressie nightmare---start typing now.:p

Tina, I talked to dh about the "extas" list, he said "no problem, if somebody else does a spreadsheet and sends it to him". :)

Hey Jen, you never answered my ? about how DH is doing. Has he had a Bills breakdown?

Carolyn did you have the opportunity to check out the sign John sent to your dad? Hope you made it to work on time. LOL

:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc We just got our docs!! What a beautiful sight!!:earseek: Our DD, Dawn (cantsitstill) called and said.. Guess what I just got!!! She lives just 5 minutes from our house, so I was waiting by the door for the UPS truck to drive up. I heard a squealing of brakes and saw the front of the truck, I ran out the door and met him in the walkway yelling...they're here...they're here!! He said, "Is this what you've been waiting for?" My hand was shaking so hard when I had to sign my name!!I am sooo surprised that we got them already here on the West coast.... thought it would be tomorrow at the earliest. Tried to call DH, but he is out of the office, so just left a message as calmly as possible to call when he gets in...Called DD and laughed and cried together!!!:thewave: :rockband: :thewave: So, here I am doing the doc dance!:teeth: Life is soooo good!! :Pinkbounc  :bounce:  :Pinkbounc  :bounce: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: Corie

11/13/04 Eastern Cruise only 33 more days til we can eat and eat and eat and eat -= Oh JOOHHNNNNNNN

Hi Heather, did u use a special code to get that rate??? Did you book it online?
I am going to go MCO to the Port and then take Disney Transpo back as we have a day room at the Hyatt and will be able to check our luggage at the port.

from Daves website....... http://www.dcltribute.com/carhire/

"#1: Budget
Budget has an on-airport facility in Orlando and a Cape Canaveral facility three miles from the cruise terminal. Budget provides complimentary shuttle service from their Cape Canaveral location to the cruise terminal. Their Cape Canaveral location is only a couple blocks beyond the Radisson.

Budget is the surprise winner of this survey. In the not-too-distant past I had stopped mentioning Budget altogether because the sample quotes I'd gotten in past surveys were much higher than those of Avis, Hertz, or National. In fact, they were ranked #4 in my last survey because their rate came in so high. This time, Budget's sample rate blew everyone else away. Budget catapults to a #1 ranking through a combination of a great sample rate quote and a convenient facility at Cape Canaveral.

Note: I had steered people away from Budget in the past due to anecdotal reports that this facility can be understaffed on cruise days. More recent anecdotal reports have indicated that the service here is perfectly adequate. "

Okay, didn't get my docs yet but did get my snorkel gear today!!! (not scuba, as I mistakenly wrote earlier)

Congrats doc dancers!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Hey everyone! Just posting quickly before I put the rug rat down! LOL!

Just let me know who to post our information to about excursions and I will.

Grayful check your pm. I am going to send you one.

Have a great night everyone!

I feel left out of the "got my docs" discussion, so I'll just share that I got my 1yo a blue blazer today. He is going to look so adorable on the formal night! Now I need to track one down for my older son, who is turning 7 on the 13th. I think we are all going to get a little more dressed up for his birthday, hich means I have a reason to buy another dress.
