11/06/11 Dream 4 Day

Thanks for the reminder for the FE, I sent our info to Tammy today.

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to everyone new :) Glad to be cruisin with ya! BTW, dthogue5 - that is a fantastic idea - I always plan to "save" a monthly amount toward the cruise and then don't - so I am going to copy off of you! Hope you don't mind :)

Thanks for adding me to the lists! BTW, my age is 37. And what do all the abbreviations mean? Thanks again, Christa aka HopeSparkles :wizard:

Just got off the Magic yesterday and have booked this cruise and the 11/10 as a back-2-back....

Thanks for adding me to the lists! BTW, my age is 37. And what do all the abbreviations mean? Thanks again, Christa aka HopeSparkles :wizard:

Let's see: DH, DW would be Dear (Darling, Disney) Husband and Wife. Same for Son, Daughter, Neice of Nephew. BIL would be brother in law. These particular abreviations are common to most all message boards.

B2B means back-to-back cruises...that is, two in a row.

I've also indicated the state people live in.

There is actually a 'stickey' post on the main forum that outlines many of the abreviations used in relation to all things Disney. From the parks, resorts, restaurants and cruise stuff. Pretty darn confusing for a 'newbie'. Don't ever be afraid to ask for clairification!

.

If you put those gift cards on your Disney Visa, you also get the points! Do the eateries also accept the gift cards? Just wondering... I'm sure I would have no problem spending any and all in DTD. We are going down the day before the cruise sets sail and staying til the Sunday following. Staying at SSR in the THV!

I somehow missed out on all of the DIS PC Cruise items and was hoping you could help me get some items to supplement my souvenirs. Thanks, Christa:wizard:

P.S. I tried to PM you but since I haven't posted 10xs on the DIS yet I'm not allowed to PM yet??!

Here's a couple of pics of the Dream from our Panama cruise as we were leaving PC.

Hi Jackie, thx for the abbreviations mini tutorial. Fortunately I was on the 1993 Spring/Summer Epcot WDWCP then TDS CM/Lead. I'm also a stock holder, DVC owner both Bay Lake Tower and Saratoga Springs, and this 11-6-11 cruise will put me into Gold as it is my 5th cruiser. And while I'm a texter and FBer, I'm new to message boards and to the DIS. How with all my Disney background do you ask? I'm a cancer survivor and also the survivor of a couple things like falling in a pothole at work in '07 which led me to 9 surgeries over the past 3 years. So when I met DIS members on the '09 cruise who said I had to be on the Panama Canal cruise for my 10th anniversary and to sign up for the DIS, boy do I wish I was able to prior to PCC. But alas I was not able to until now which is most important. So I can answer tons of WDW, DVC, DL, WDWCP, TDS, DCL, etc questions, but I may have a lot of DIS questions, lol!

Thanks again, Christa

Yes, all of Disney (parks, resorts, DCL, Disney Stores, disneystore.com, etc. All take the gift cards. And yes, I buy my gift cards with my Disney visa first so that I get the points too. In fact I pay ALL my bills, groceries, bottle of water, everything that can be purchased with a card goes on my Disney visa so that I get the rewards. The trick is to pay it off every mon so you don't have interest. I just had a $800 Disney Rewards card to use on the Panama Canal Cruise, woo hoo! I'm already up to $150 toward this 11-6-11 cruise and we have 9 more months to go...

Jackie THANK you for the cool welcome!!! :-) Christa aka HopeSparkles

All it takes to be a Champagne Girl, is the desire to become one! And it helps if you have something PINK to wear! :lmao:

The official CG mascot, Sassy Bubbles, (aka Cheri, notsolittlemermaid) was at the CG gathering on the current Panama Canal crossing just a few days ago and thanked all the DISboard ladies for continuing the tradition. I know of at least five cruises that have had a CG gathering since the first one on the '08 WBPC and I wouldn't be surprised if there were more that I'm not even aware of. I so look forward to a gathering in DCL's champagne bar, PINK! :thumbsup2

.
I'm not sure if you read that I wanted to be a Champagne girl on the DW PC 15 cruis last month but I didn't sign up on the DIS in time. So let me just say I was the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event manager in my hometown prior o falling in a pot hole at work, but I digress... I won the most sassy pink girl contest at the National MSABC conference in '08 with a pink boa and tiara and all. So is that desire or what? Lol!

We have quite a few birthday celebrations in this crowd...though I think we need to take special note of Sukie's, 'cause he's so OLD! (I can say that, as I AM older!)

We need an "I just came on this cruise for all the Birthday cake" logo! :lmao:

Anybody out there got an ideas for a DISers logo for this cruise????
.we do need something to put in our signatures, after all!

.
Mickey in bed "dreaming" of the Dream with us on it!

Glad to have you here - looking forward to seeing all of you soon! So excited! If you all haven't read Timon's trip report on the Trip Report forum - I highly recommend it - it is outstanding! :cutie:

BTW, we got changed from GTY to 6188 a 6B - I forgot that was on the roster at the front of the thread~! :lovestruc

Well I just made the jump and upgraded from a 11C to 5C - for both cruises. We are now cruising with a verandah - I didn't tell DH or DD - I'm gonna let it be a surprise when we get to our room. DH won't figure it out, but my DD scours the boards for info on the Dream - I'll have to keep all paperwork hidden from her. Think I can hold out that long :confused3 Our new cabin number is 7540.

Added bonus was an additional $50.00 in stateroom credit on each cruise - so it made the cost of upgrading a little less painful!!

Tammy

I just made my first bi-weekly payment this weekend too - so exciting to see that balance going down. I am also purchasing $25.00 Disney gift cards each week when I buy my groceries - hope to have enough by cruise time to cover all our DCL expenses!!!

Tammy

Breaking my cruise down to weekly payments (because DH and I get paid opposite weeks) helps so much... I don't feel over whelmed by that large total and while I know I could be saving it and getting a tiny bit of interest...I like doing it this way better...I look forward to Friday to make my payment on fun!!

:dance3: And Welcome aboard :dance3: Christa age 37 aka HopeSparkles...From Christa age 37 aka jajomo0118  :thumbsup2
