We're in an 11A steerage room. I'm really looking forward to the porthole and the visitors.

All my gang got their docs either yesterday or today!

Several of the folks offering out cabins for the stateroom tour cancelled the cruise. :sad1: Gefric....is your cabin oriented sideways BUT still has the door at one end? I didn't think there were any true 'sideways' cabins on the Dream? That's what there are all those little funny hallways.

My understanding, at least when I booked, was that all of the inside cabins are sideways.

Yes, but not 'sideways' like the classic ships, with the door in the middle.

Man, I was about to sign off, but now I have to go look at a ship plan.

I have no idea.. from the map that was posted it looked sideways to me but maybe there is a hallway to enter it regular like....:confused3 no idea..

anyway, i am still game to show what an 11B looks like..

Yep, they all still have the doors at one end, though it's hard to tell how when enters cabin 8083/8583.

OK, heading home, it's movie night!

They really make you work to get at those luggage tags don't they.

I'm not surecwhat happened with the cabin tour. Anyways, we're in steerage.

LOL. I am ROTFLOL..... We are usually down on deck 2, but this trip we booked while on our last cruise and it was so little difference at the time of booking, we decided to splurge. It is going to be weird being up on deck 8.

You all are killing me with these comments. Thanks for the entertainment!! On my 2012 cruise we are back down on deck 2. It will be interesting to see how I feel once I have been up on the nose bleed decks. LOL. I think I might actually miss the porthole on this cruise. We will see.

Thanks for the good laugh before I head off to bed. Hoping tomorrow's mail brings my luggage tags!

We're on deck 8 too. I think we book in March right after they opened up for reservations on the Dream. We were always going to do an inside cabin but the driving factor was the B2B and making sure we got the same cabin for both the 4-night and the 3-night so we wouldn't have to pack up and change rooms. We were lucky and did.

Too funny Ian - I always think of "steerage" as down on the bottom decks. Back in the day when there really was a steerage class it was always on the lower decks. So, when I think of steerage I think of all my cruises down on deck 2. I looked at upgrading for our 2012 cruise and to move up to another deck it is like $1000 or more higher. I can't afford that kind of price tag. Then I have to factor that there are at least 10 rooms for our group on that cruise, we try to all get rooms next to each other, hence why we all end up down on 2 - where we can get the cheap seats all right on the same hall.

Guess what came today????

Oh, and geffric must have gotten most of my glue. Mine was not so bad.

Successfully hid the envelope in my travel purse before the kids got home from school! :thumbsup2

Ok, almost all set now. Just have to wait on the FEs and pillow cases to arrive and then try to pack it all in a reasonable amount of baggage! LOL.

I am still up for a cabin tour if we do it early enough.

I know we've still got a while before the cruise, but I wanted to give you all a tip regarding shopping on the ship. If you see something you like, get it then and there. Don't wait.

I had two shopping experiences where there was something i wanted and thought I'd come back another day, only to find it gone.

The first was a keychain that has the same fish on it as the FE fishes. Very cute. I saw it my first evening on a cruise, came back the next night and they were gone.

The other that's happened several times were shirts I liked. I came back and the rack was full but only in size XXXL. For the style I liked everything else was gone.

Just my little shopping tip for the day.

We were just on the Dream last week. Our friend had cabin # 8083.

Rooms 8083 and 8583 share a private hallway. The doors faced a solid wall -- the backside of the elevators.

It was nice - I liked the setup. We were across the hall in 8084.

(just happened upon this thread, as I have a friend sailing on it ... sorry to be barging in on the middle of a conversation)

Hope you have a fabulous time!!!
