Hi Maryann,

Wednesdays are the best days for me to get a chance to stop in and say hi. Of course that is the one day you don't work! I'm still
hoping to make it in before we leave for the first leg of our trip on Nov. 1. (3 weeks!!!)

Still waiting for those docs! So much to do, so little time.

Karen :D

Yes, That is usually my day off! The last few week I have had saturday off because I had to clear up some vacation days. Well if you are in the area, try to pop in! If not have a great pre-cruise vacation too!!! Are you going to WDW?

Hi Karen.....
We're leaving the same day---are you driving or flying ? We're doing the 17 hour drive. I was wondering if you were stopping and doing WDW first also. We'll be at OKW on Nov 2.

Hello Fellow Cruisers!

4 weeks from today I will be sipping a Bon Voyage drink and meeting you at Scoops!:wave2:

I still haven't received my DOC's yet. I am bummed about Grand Cayman. Oh well it beats a cold rainy Michigan day. I agree with Lori in that I wish DCL would let us know ASAP so that we can plan excursions. I am leaning toward the Chaccoben(sp?) Ruins. We should probably do something educational for the kids! Of course it would also be a great day to stay on the ship and enjoy the uncrowded pools.

I've got a bunch of lime green Mickey heads if anyone wants one!

Jackie

lUVTOGO - Yes we are going to WDW first for 4 nights. I figured, hey what's 3 more days off of school. Luckily, all of the teachers were okay with it. As a matter of fact, we were encouraged to go and spend quality family time together. ::yes::

MiaSRN62- We are also driving and it will take us about 17 hours too. We are checking into the Poly on Nov 2. We have driven every year since my DS(11) was born and both kids are very used to the drive. We only got a VHS player for the car 2 years ago, but boy, what a difference that makes.

See you all soon!!

Karen !
Too funny....we'll be navigating I-95 south at the same time ! I'm assuming you stop overnight ? How far do u usually try and get ? We aim for at least southern SC. There's a town called Waltersboro where we stayed a few times. And I agree.....we have a VHS player and it does make a world of difference ::yes::
I thought the same thing about the missed school days as you did.....our teachers were also very supportive.

Mickeyswife - HOORAY!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Maria - Yes, we will be stopping overnight. We also try to make it to SC, a town called Santee. Then in the a.m. we only have about 6 hours to go. We have driven straight through, but that is only doable if we leave at 4am (not adviseable on a Monday morn.)

Yep.....we've stopped in Santee before. We did that straight through drive once (back in '99) and swore, NEVER AGAIN.....we were exhausted. But then again, we drove from noon till 6 am. Those hours probably had something to do with it. No matter how much coffee we poured down our throats we couldn't help but see multiple lines on the highways !

:bounce: I just got our documents! It is now official - WE'RE GOING ON A MAGICAL CRUISE!

Leaving Wednesday, Nov. 3rd - 23 more days.

Already started packing!

TA said that Disney hasn't said that Grand Cayman is canceled yet. Keeping my fingers crossed that we can go there!

Just wondering if anyone knows if this cruise is full.

You can go to www.disneycruise.com and pretend like you're making a reservation... it shows you which categories are available. Looks like only two categories (4 and 11), and not many category 4s. So I suspect we'll be pretty full!

Well I was looking forward to the submarine ride if grand cayman was an option, but they emailed me to let me know the sub will not be functional until Feb 2005, that much damage. My DS6 is so very disappointed, going to look into the one in mexico. I am so jealous, I have not recieved our docs yet.

Whoo-hoo to all of us who got our docs ! Hang in there CinRN....I'm sure you'll get yours this week. It seems they're all rolling in now. I saw someone on the Nov 13 cruise got theirs already ? It's so random how they send them out.
It's a shame about the sub excursion CinRN. I do find it odd though that DCL just didn't email you to say there are no Grand Caymen excursions period ???? Is there still a chance for us to go to GC do ya think ?

I'd have to agree that it does appear that DCL is trying to get us into Grand Cayman for our cruise. When I called DCL about excursions for Costa Maya, I did ask the CM about our cruise. She indicated that we are still scheduled for Grand Cayman, and as of right now are going. The fact that an excursion has been cancelled, means DCL is contacting their vendors to see about the availability of them. The one thing I do know is that Red Sail Sports, which is the vendor DCL uses for it's scuba excursions is also closed until December 1st, so if we do stop in GC, those will be cancelled as well. If we do stop, we're with Captain Marvins, and they are ready to sail as soon as visitors starting coming to Grand Cayman again. This will be an interesting couple of weeks.....

Happy Tuesday!! Paula was kind enough to pick up our cruise docs yesterday, so we are all set! I've got to stop in to make the reservations for REAS (nope, still haven't done that, hope it's not too late!), and keep packing now... I've essentially put all the clothes I think I'll need in piles- it's a lot bigger now than when I started. Time to start really thinking about what I'll need... then I can move on to my son's clothes!

Counting the cold days...

No DOC's yet!! Maybe they are holding mine back because they are giving me a free upgrade to a category 3!!!;) ;) Ha Ha. I am going to email Nativeway today and see what type of response I receive regarding excursion. Our church was taking special donations this weekend for a parish on Grand Cayman. The church bulletin said the church and school was devastated by Hurricane Ivan.

I have started to pull things together for the cruise. Nothing is in a suitcase yet. DS10 is going to camp next week with school. I have to pack for him this weekend so after that I think I will get the big suitcases up from the basement and start filling them! It is too cold for shorts here now so I think it's safe to pack them. Of course when I do that it will be 80 degrees!

TTFN,

Jackie

This is the message I just found on the Nativeway website.

Important Hurricane Notice...

Due to the damage caused by hurricane Ivan, cruise ships will not be visiting Grand Cayman for an indefinite period of time. We believe that ships will start visiting again during the end of October or beginning of November. As soon as the cruise ships resume service, Native Way will be ready and waiting for you!

For questions about tours, or to make a reservation, please call us at: (345) 946-8656. We will reimburse you for the call by deducting a total of $10 off the total tour cost for your family (or group). Or, you can e-mail us at: nativway@candw.ky Please note that due to a limited amount of internet access and electricity on the island now, it may take up to 3 days to get a response to your e-mail messages.

We sincerely thank you for your continued support.

Sharon & Eldon Ebanks

I think I will give them a call.

Now, if that message on Nativeway is true, that's EXCELLENT NEWS!! I just e-mailed Captain Marvin's to see what their status is. That's who we've booked our Stingray City sail through. If they're not, I'll contact Nativeway!!
