11/05/05 Western - Who's with Us?

Scouter, sorry to hear the Dave and Ivan tour is full. It must have happened quickly, as we just found out we are going last week. I think the Carnival Glory, which has the same basic itinerary we have, has also just switched to Costa Maya. I was hoping some of our fellow DISers would be going with us.

As far as booking excursions on our own, we are in Costa Maya until 10:15 PM. It would be highly unlikely to be on excursion that doesn't get you back to the ship on time.

Well guys...the time has come! It's been great following your thread and feeling your excitement! It makes me all the more anxious for my cruise on 12/03.

Keep us posted on Costa Maya since that's probably where we're headed too!

I just got an email from DU (who we booked through), letting us know about online Costa Maya registration. Suzanne, you must have booked directly through Disney, which is why they contacted you directly.

Only one more day of laundry, a day to finish packing, and then we're off.

I booked excursions with this company for GC last year and everything was fine. Booked horseback riding with them this year. For the past 5 years I have booked my own shore excursions and saved money and had greater flexibility than going thru cruise lines.

I am almost ready. I bought a pirate costume for DS 9 at K-mart the day after Halloween half-price! I am turning in my hold mail request today, and trying to tie up all my loose ends. We will be leaving in the morning for Florida! Hope to see you all soon on the ship! Claire

Our first cruise and I'm sure I am packing way too much!!! I am also sure I am forgetting something!!! I don't think I will ba able to talk my family into doing the pirate thing, but I was successful in talking them into those cute matching Disney tropical sundresses with a matching shirt for DD. Gotta take what you can get DD 11 is getting hormonal
I am packing now and hopefully will have all but the last few items done by tonight!

I agree, I am soooooo ready to go but I am not ready, We are almost packed, and we are bringing way to much stuff, but, what do you leave behind? Its not like we can run to the store and pick up what we forget....... I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!! We leave here Friday morning at 8am So we need to get it done....See everyone soon

Hi everyone! I can't believe how close it is. I also can't believe in the last 24 hours each person in my family has come down with a cold (it's going through the school). I hope we're all better by Friday when we fly. Anyone from NJ flying our of Philly on Friday?

Beth--we're doing the matching tropical Mickeywear too. I could never get anyone to wear the pirate outfits. DS's idea of a Halloween costume was tying a cape over his clothes . I also will settle for what I can get.

What I'm wondering about our meet though is this:
If we're meeting at 3pm. And somewhere I saw the fire drill is
at 3:15......And you're supposed to be back at your rooms for this
to get out your preservers. We aren't really going to have more than
a few minutes!
Am I wrong about the fire drill time?

Or shall we plan to meet up again after the drill? deck party?

Oh, good! I hope so! I just read the 3:15 thing on a disney fan website
that showed a previous navigator schedule.....the daily activites.......
It may have been quite a bit old and they've since changed that drill
time.
I am counting on you to be correct Sean!

My son's name is Sean also, and he always thinks he's right.....
but of course, he's 15, and so how else would he be?

We get on the plane tomorrow morning. Everything is packed except the formal wear which will be packed tonight.

For a while this week we thought there was a chance we'd have to cancel - our kitty was just diagnosed diabetic and has been in the hospital. But, good news, he is doing better and gets to go home tonight!! My mom is going to take care of him while we're gone so he'll be very well loved and cared for.

We are definitely going to be ready for lots of of the day after this week!!

I just do not know what to do at Costa Maya!! I have a DS5 (almost 6), so I thought the ruins tour would be too boring for him. So I don't know what to do! Anyone come up with a plan or tour in Costa Maya with children around that age that you could share? Is there a place in the fishing village that is good? Anyone going on the Catamaran excursion? - I was thinking about that.
