Need ideas! DD is going to a sleepover birthday party for one of her best friends Friday and I am at a loss as to what kind of present to buy. I know I have my own 10 yo daughter but I asked her last night what she wanted to get her friend and got the old 'I don't know'. This girl has just about everything. Last year I got her a Hello Kitty towel and washcloth set (figured if she already had one she could always use another) and a Hello Kitty photo album.

What are some neat/different ideas for a 10 yo girl?

Oh, at that age they love any kind of smelly lotion and soap! Also, lip gloss (you know, like Lip Smackers...the clear but flavored kinds.) I always used to buy somekind of a makeup case and fill it with that kind of stuff. Always a big hit!

My duaghter received Polly Pockets, Bratz, Gameboyconnectooor lip gloss, a singing stuffed dog, a nerf type gun, Kid's Bop CD, a gift card, the black ballyou ask questions to, a scrap booking kit.

Fun makeup of anykind they love. How about a cute photo albume and a disposable camera, that is always a hit.

You could do a movie basket, buy a cute basket and put in a DVD or VHS tape, some microwave popcorn and boxes of candy. Kids love it!

Or you can always be safe with a gift certificate to a mall.

Have fun!

These are great-- keep them coming.

I am going to print them out and show them to DD after school and let her decide!

Thanks!!!!

Our daughter turned 10 yesterday. The common theme was crafts. She got SO many crafty-things. Paint-your-own stained glass, make your own ornaments, stitchery kits, wood cut-outs to paint and a birdhouse to paint and decorate. Not the typical "girl" gift fare, but she can't wait to get started. She (and my 8yo dd for her birthday 2 weeks ago) also wanted an Aquapet -- an electronic interactive toy. They are advertised on Nickelodeon constantly, about 6 different varieties, fairly inexpensive @ ToysRUs.

My DD, 10 1/2 would enjoy receiving "Clickits" by Lego, craft kits, scrapbook stuff, gift certificates to Blockbuster, Target, or Best Buy. She also loves books and friends who know her well give her her very favorite thing - bookstore gift certificates!

Mine too!

My DD10 also likes Ello stuff...find it at Target...
Crafts are always a winner for my DD!

For that age girl I like to buy a diary or journal. I find that many young ladies like to write down their secret thoughts.

Does your mall have a Club Libby Lu in it?Its the place where girls can get a "makeover" and can make their own lipgloss, perfume etc.
My daughter is 9 and she loves that place. I know she would love anything that comes from that store!

anything from limited-2. My DD loves that store and we can usually find something for any price range there.

When I don't know the child to well and not sure what to get, I give a gift card to barnes and noble. My dd10 just came from a little boys birthday party, and being I have all girls, I'm kinda clueless when it comes to boys gifts. So I gave a B&N gift card. He loved it. I usually will give the girls she's really friends with an outfit, pants/shirt. But you can't go wrong with a gift card.

DS went to a classmate's 11 year old party a couple months ago. I ended up getting one of those rubber purses that's out now. BIG HIT with her and the girls there, too! LOL!
