Day 4 - Saturday July 9th

After our full day and late night at MK, we decided to sleep in on Saturday. I was up first around 9 so I showered and headed over to the food court for some coffee and juice. When I returned, the rest of the crew was stirring. After some breakfast and a couple of cartoons, we headed for AK.

We arrived at AK shortly before noon to overcast skies. We thought that we would get wet today but the sun was shinning within a few minutes of our arrival. We checked the big board to see what the waits were like and decided to head to Kilimanjaro Safaris.

There was no real wait at the ride and we were quickly off on our 2 week safari. It was somewhat different than last year. Last year we went very early and the animals were very active and there were lots out and about. It was definietly better than going at midday. We did see many of the animals, including quite a few elephants. Still well worth the ride.

Next we headed towards Asia and Kali River Rapids. Before leaving Africa, we ran into Timon. He was signing autographs in the Marketplace next to a group of dancers. DS and I were in line behind a lady who was trying to get a picture of her grandkids with Timon. She had a difficult time because other people would keep cutting in front of her. Man these people were rude. All you need to do is pay attention to your surroundings!!

When we got to Kali we opted for fast passes and headed into Maharajah Jungle Trek This was an intesting attraction. The scenery was amazing and the wildlife was very cool, watch out for those bats. My only disappointment was that the tigers were not visible. You could see them up on the hill sleeping and one did get up but it was only to use the little boys room. Our fast pass window was open by the end of our walk so off we went to get wet. DS and I remained fairly dry but dw was soaked. This was a fun ride but I was surprised on how short it was. It did become another of ds's favourites.

As we made our way to Dinoland we passed by Everest. This looks like it will be wicked and the turn you can see at the bottom looks like it will be a doozy.

In Dinoland, dw and ds went to play some game while I went to get fps for Dinasour. I think we just missed Lucky on the way in. When I got back, ds had won a couple of plush toys and he was very proud. We jumped on TriceraTop Spin as there was no wait. Good ride but very very similar to Dumbo and Aladdin.

We then realized that if we used our fast passes we would miss Festival of the Lion King. As this is our favourite show we opted for FOTLK. We decide to go to the left side of the line at the theatre to try and get in a different section this time. While waiitng in line we started talking with a nice family from New York. I was wearing a University of New Brunswick t-shirt and they remembered the name from a visit to NB on a pevious vacation. When the doors opened we headed in and were seated in the elephant section instead of the lion section. We also got to sit in the second row. This just made the show that more amazing.

Upon exiting the show we decided to head back to the resort for some rest just befor the afternoon parade. That evening ds and I went for a swim ad wandered arounf the resort a bit.

Next up: MK again.
