I am planning a trip for October to celebrate 10 years of being married to my sweetheart. :lovestruc Last year we went for our first trip with the kids and had so much fun we decided to go again, just the two of us. :woohoo:

I have booked HOJO's w/ ent rate for Oct 12th-16th. My DH birthday is Monday Oct 12th so I want to be in the park for his B-day. I also want to see Fantasmic and the Fireworks on Friday.

When we took the family last year we were there 5 days and really enjoyed it. Since we had our young children with us we took it slow and took lots of breaks. Is 5 days too long for two adults? I can't imagine getting "tired" of DL and I am trying to make this as great a vacation as last year. I also have to keep it in the budget so no trips to Sea World or Universal, but I may try to beg a Wicked show one evening.

When are the "specials" for Fall announced? There are a bunch of discounts for Summer but I can't find any for October yet.

Also, as a couple what should we *not* miss? We are going to BB for a meal and at DH request Carnation Cafe again. At my request we will go to In-N-Out one day, other than that we are open to suggestions.

:disrocks:A big thank you to everyone on this board for help making our last trip so enjoyable we are going again!

Hello and congratulations on your 10 year anniversary. Mine is just around the corner, but sadly we will probably be in Hawaii:banana:

I would think you may want to be sure to take time to explore some of the things you missed when you had the kids. Ride the Mark Twain, really explore New Orleans Square and sit and have a liesurely snack and beverage at the New Orleans Cafe while people watching. Sit down in the Golden Saloon and watch the Billy show. Wander through Fantasyland and enjoy all the detailing and go on some of the rides together at night when the kiddies are all in bed. Bring a deck of cards, gather up snacks and sit and save a great spot for yourselves for the fireworks. That is magical and not too hard to do without kidlets. Wander through the DLR hotels and grounds. Spend some time in the Grand California lobby and/or lounge listening to the piano player. If you get a warm day, sit at the Lost Bar in DLH and watch the Jungle Cruise Boats, or better yet, drive them because you probably can't when you have kids with you. Be sure to explore the animation studio at DCA and of course don't miss Aladdin.

Personally, I don't think 5 days would be too much, but I really love DL and could easily fill 5 days there alone. Have a wonderful trip.

DH and I are going in mid-September to celebrate our 11th anniversary a few weeks early. We are only going for 2 1/2 days, but that's all we can do because of my parents watching our girls.

I am going to surprise DH with the segway tour at DCA. It's $100 per person, but if you have an AP or the Disney Visa you get 20% off. :goodvibes

We just returned from a 20th anniversary trip which also included DH's bday. We were there from a Wed to Wed. This ended up being 5 full days, a blockout day for APs on Sat to rest, and an evening on the first Wed and a morning on the last Wed.

We didn't think it was too much but we ready to leave because we were so exhausted. We really should have gone back to the hotel some afternoons but we didn't. As a result we ended up leaving the parks by 9pm because we were so tired. We got up at 5am every morning.

We made PSs for Steakhouse 55 and Cafe Orleans. Everything else was counter service. SH55 is expensive but is a wonderful place to have an anniversary. This is one of those places where you really can taste the difference between that and a cheaper place. The french bread, the salads, the meals were all very fresh and yummy! They even brought us a free dessert to share.
