100th day of School

DD made a goldfish out of 100 goldfish crackers (glued them on a poster board in the shape of a goldfish). Friend's DS built a log cabin out of 100 toilet paper roll tubes which was amazing.

DD wants to punch out 100 Mickey heads with my Paper Shaper and glue them on in the shape of a Mickey head.
That's what we did last year, but we put them in the shape of the number 100.

This year, DD used character Band-Aids. (Normally not a good Budget Board idea, but DBro used to work for Johnson & Johnson and a few boxes happened to come home with him from time to time...:rolleyes1 ) It was great that we didn't need to glue or tape anything this year -- just unwrap, peel, and stick (100 times).

At Open House, we saw some others on display. The most impressive by far was the house of 100 cards. Candy and pennies were quite popular. Another of DD's classmates also raided the family bathroom and used 100 Q-tips. The possibilities are endless!

DD6 just decided to use pencils. Actually this is the fourth time she has chosen something to use, who knows what we'll end up with. Anyway, we have so many pencils from fairs, parades, and all sorts of events that she only had to fill in with about 20 of the regular yellow #2's. We plan to hot glue them to the poster board or cardboard to make it look like the sun's rays. She can write 100 in the center. Also has them organized by colors too.

I loved the 100 piece puzzle idea, just couldn't get her to agree with that one.

last year dd took a 100 piece puzzle of the US and glued it together on poster board. It was from the dollar store.

another one was 100 christmas lights made into a butterfly onto a board. you can plug it in and keep it in their room after. that came out nice..

dd has to bring in 100 goldfish crackers on monday- not very unique but thats what the teacher wants..

I teach kindergarten. At my school we have the kids bring in a collection of 100 things and then weigh them on a balance scale. Ex how many gram cubes do 100 cheerios weigh? We don't do the poster board projects although I think it is a cute idea. We do have the kids make a shirt and then we parade around the school singing It's the one hundreth day of school to the tune of It's A Small World.

The most unique shirt that I have seen was for a little boy who loved to go fishing with his dad. It had 100 of the red and white fishing bobs. The ones that go under the water when a fish bites. It was so cute and so suited his personality. It was very heavy though and he had to change right after the parade.

My DS7 came home from school yesterday with his assignment, due 2/1. He needs to bring in a collection of 100 items. We'd like to try something new this year....

I like the one poster's idea of taking a photo of her child looking up at the night sky, and then sticking 100 stars on the poster board. I'll have to run that one past my DS!

Last year we made a teddy bear out of cardboard and made a grid in the stomach and put 100 teddy grahams in each spot. came out very cute. I also saw a cute idea to amke a large tree and put 100 cherry lifesavers in it. I thought that was cute too.Good Luck!
