100th anniversary celebration at WDW

Does anyone know of any specific plans for October 16th at Walt Disney World? I have reservations but haven't heard of anything specific to that day so I was considering cancelling.

I doubt there's anything really that special about the day if the 50th anniversary is anything to go off of. Especially since the 100th anniversary is about the company and not specifically about Disney World.

Epcot is the designated park for celebrating the 100th. Maybe they’ll say something at the D23 Destination D event next weekend (September 8-10), since D23 is the fan club for the Disney company as a whole.

Nailed it! There will be some free gift like a cupcake...somewhere. It will take an hour out of your park experience to find the location but.... ;-P I'm thinking back to Moonlight Magic at Epcot last year -- the promised free ice cream bars were in a couple of outlets hidden in the dark!

They will probably hand out posters as people leave the park!

WHAT!!?? It won't even be free?? Urgh, I guess I'm spoiled as a DVC member, we at least get the occassional trinket if we scour the parks looking for them!
