I saw that the website is open to alumni and I was both a brownie and a girl scout. My daughter is 4 years old and will be a brownie next year. I wanted to get the tickets for this but I wasn't sure if I am eligible. It does say alumni but if anyone has more info, I would appreciate it. Also, does anyone know if there are 7 day tickets available? Thank you.

Actually your daughter will be a Daisy when she is in Kindergarten. Brownies start at 2nd grade.

I havent seen the website for the one at Epcot but we are going to a big one at Libery State Park in NJ. That one is open to anyone.. just have to pay an extra $12 for non registered scouts.

Do you have the site for the Epcot one?

I can't help you with answers about eligibility but there is a number in the fine print on the event information .pdf to call. I called a while back to confirm that individual Scouts could register without being part of a participating troop, because I'm hoping to take my DD10 to the event but our school year up here doesn't end in time for her troop to do either the WDW or DC events. :(

I was a bit surprised that I haven't been able to find any events local to us. I'm still waffling between whether I want to take DD to the Epcot event or to the one on the Mall in DC but right now I'm leaning towards Disney only because DS wants to go to DC too and wouldn't be able to miss school (finals) the for week of the GS event.

Thanks its interesting to see what other places are doing. I thought about DC also but its dance recital weekend. I do have a troop in my service unit going.

Here is the one we are going to:

Actually there are several thing in michigan going on to celebrate. On March 10th there is a big thing at the capital. here is our local council's website so you can check things out there. www.gshom.org

Thanks! We're GSSEM council now, still in the process of working out the kinks of combining because we used to be Waterways, and the only thing they have going is a "birthday party" type camp event in March. It looks like the DC trip your council is offering is much better too - ours is going through a student-oriented travel agency and running $750 girl/$895 adult for a 3 night package.

The longest ticket available is a 5-day plus 5 waterpark/Disney quest.

You do not have to go as a troop and they only ask very basic troop info - I think it was only the troop # & maybe the council. I am going with only my daughter (and my husband) and not taking my entire troop but I don't recall anything that would have been an issue if I didn't just happen to be the troop leader.

For alumni, I'd register as troop: xxx (alumni) and then when you specify the # attending total/# participating in the bridging ceremony - the bridging # would be zero.

I checked the ceremony 'attendance capacity' just a couple of days ago and Saturday was only at 15% and Sunday at 12%. I don't know what the total numbers are but they've got plenty of availability and we're only 90 days out.

I want to attend the WDW GS event as an alumni...when My parents divorced I lost all of my Brownie/GS info in the shuffle. Anyone remember the troop number for the John Redd Elementary School in Collinsville, VA from 1970 to 1975? Thanks for any help.

I guess I need to look over the information more clearly, but I have a few questions about the Epcot event:

*do girls need to purchase a separate ticket for the special YES class they are offering that weekend? If so, (which I'm pretty sure they do), does an adult have to be with them? And if they do, do adults have to purchase a separate ticket as well?

*is the "bridging ceremony" a bridging to the next century or an actual bridging ceremony for the next level? As in, if our girls are not bridging to another level of GS, would they bother with the bridging ceremony at all?

I saw that the minimum ticket package is a 3 day package...ugh, I really wish it would give an option for less day for out of state troops too. Not everyone wants 3 days of parks.:wizard:

Thanks for any info! :flower3:

The YES program is an additional $26 per participant. You also need to have the special event theme park ticket for entry this day.
Per their description:

This add-on opportunity is available to participants that purchase
event multi-day ticket packages as Theme Park Admission to Epcot® is required on the day of the program. Due to
advanced educational content and activities, this program is open to Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and
Ambassador level Girl Scouts. All participating Girl Scouts and their participating chaperones must purchase the
add-on program in advance to attend the workshop.

I'm guessing that they expect troops to have the number of adults required by Safety Wise. We are not doing the program so I don't have any specifics.

it's for all current girl scouts to bridge 'to the next century' - not a level bridging.

Yes, the only choice are 3, 4, or 5 day tickets - regular, park hopper or premium. One admission must be used for entry to Epcot on the day of the ceremony - no other admission media will be accepted. There is also a wristband required.

Thanks for any info! :flower3:

Hope that helps!

Hope that helps!

Thanks! I think I was confused on the bridging because I thought I read a post somewhere about Daisies bridging up to Brownies, maybe their troop is using this opportunity to use it as a level bridging.

Thanks! I still have to figure out if adults need tix. to the YES program.

I appreciate your help~
