Here's a link to a very general story about the 100 year clebration. It is interesting because it makes mention of an as yet unannounced celebration at Disneyland, and it has some interesting speculation about the continued growth of the company.

From the article:
Its larger space makes Disney World a key marketing tool for the firm, Skislock said, as are the extensive licensing deals. The Hallmark assortment has an interesting story to it - though primarily a moneymaker for both parties, there's an interesting personal twist to it.
I was wondering if anything else interesting was said after this paragraph. I stopped reading as it was turning my stomach!!

Does this make Walt's B-day a Hallmark Holiday?

</bad pun mode>

You know Hallmark is starting up a new Cable network which I assume is for Hallmark Hall of fame movies. Maybe AV can let us know if there is an association there as I haven't been paying attention.

you would have learned that Walt secretly didn't care about sponsorship because he did it himself
...I think you're giving short shrift to the difference in, say, getting RCA to spring for Space Mountain, and in getting Hallmark to foot the bill for advertising the in-park pin and snow globe sales.

From the article:
A massive gold sculpture of the famous mouse will be hit the auction block on eBay, commissioned by the company in honor of the event,
Direct-to-eBay-collectibles seem to honor the almighty dollar more than the birthday of a creative entertainer.
``It's not easy to make a company this large grow,'' Skislock said. ``They have some very well conceived efforts to make it larger, so they're looking for ways to generate excitement and more traffic.''
Hmmm, nothing at all about creating good entertainment. No big surprise, I guess.

The article was the first time I ever heard that Walt Disney© was a “personal friend” of Mr. Hallmark. Considering that Walt (® by The Walt Disney Company) was pretty much a nobody and a failure in St. Louis, I can’t imagine the “friendship” (isn’t it time you sent your special friend a special message – a friendly reminder from Hallmark) was much of major business alliance. I do know that there was a card store on Main Street® (Main Street USA, home of the Carination Gardens Restaurant brought to you by Carnation) when Disneyland©®™ first opened.

Spacing provided by McDonald’s – don’t you deserve a break today?

And now, Microsoft proudly presents paragraph two. Where do YOU want to go today?
I’ve heard rumors that Hallmark (a proud sponsor of Walt’s 100th Birthday Celebration™ at the Walt Disney World Resort® in Lake Buena Vista, Florida – part of the Magic of The Walt Disney Company©®™.) will have a large sign under the big hat at the Disney/MGM Studios©®™ (‘MGM’® and is used under license from the MGM Grand/Mirage Company). Beyond that there are some other merchandise deals and a rumor that the extent of Disneyland’s©®™ (Visit Disney’s California Adventure, a brand new park right next door to Disneyland©®™! PLEASE visit DCA, we have to feed our children! Please, dear god, please!!) celebration will be the size and scope of Hallmark’s wallet. I guess that all the concern about Hallmark is rather pointless. I mean, that kind of advertising is never intrusive. Nestle.

The Coca-Cola Company would like to thank you for reading this post. Please gather all of your personal belongs and exit through The Posting Store where you’ll find many unique mementos of your visit to the post and a wide variety of Coke merchandise available for purchase. And once again, on behalf of The Coca-Cola Company, Walt Disney World and all of here, please enjoy the rest of your stay.
