100 reasons to stay onsite vs us 192..

The absolute #1 Reason is that Days Inns are the most disgusting places in the world. They are (generally) filthy, pest/bug infested, and often dangerous. I wouldn't care if it were free, I wouldn't stay in one.

Even if they decide not to stay on property, tell them NOT to stay at a Days Inn.

Anne

I have to agree with Anne. I've heard really bad things about Days Inns-it really does have to be a last resort (no pun intended) to stay in one of those. My Dad went into one in Little Rock and promptly said that we were NOT staying there!

Have to say the Food court at the AS is a great moneysaver and very good.

Easy midday breaks at a nearby resort.

In reality is often the hotel that interests the kids more than the parks. They tend not to want to stay in the parks all day so it is important to be able to return to the hotel. They will be thrilled with the All Stars and mom and dad will not be crying the blues when they loudly protest that they do not want to return to the parks, but rather stay in the pool!

Do they still have the Character Caravan? I thought it was over when they brought Early Entry back.

Oh...did anyone mention Early Entry? Only now it's called Extra Magic Hour. Still the best way to get through Fantasyland.

they wont have to say "if only we would have listened to their advice" one thing is if the kids are small its great to go back to the hotel "ON-SITE" and rest....

She is wondering if the All-Stars are better than the Days Suites on 192 ? One of our few off-site stays was at the Hilton in Downtown Disney, and I would still prefer the A/S over that !

There is that Disney "Magic" about staying on-site.

I do have to admit, however, that we have two Disney trips coming up where we are staying off-site. Why ? Two reasons : we scored a reall good rate for a 2 bedroom at Summerfield Suites, and we will only be going to the water parks - not the theme parks. We do have a trip planned after new years to start hitting the theme parks again, and for that trip we have reservations in hand for Old Key West.

Lets see, some other reasons:

* Disney busses are right outside the parks, not out in the middle of a HOT parking lot waiting till it's full to leave.

* Disneys pools are heated ( in most cases ) !

* Disney tends to stay CLEAN !!

* Disney Cast Members - they are just trained to be nicer. You WILL notice that .

* As others have mentioned, Mickey Mouse wake-up calls on the phone and a"Zip-a-Dee-Do-Da-Day !" on the tv ;-) .

* Free refills on the mugs.

* Instead of 407-WDW-DINE for priority seating, just *55.

* Surprise Mornings & E-ticket nights.

* The afternoon break - harder to do if staying off-site.

* With disney transportation, the group can split up and go separate ways. You don't have to do what everyone else is doing because you are not dependent on the rental car or offsite bus for your transportation.

And many, many more ;) .

Wow, I had forgotten about this thread, as it was begun last September. Has the family gone on their trip yet... and if so, did they end up staying at Days Inn or All Stars?

I know we would all love to hear how things turned out after the 100+ reasons to stay onsite, and the at least 25 reasons not to stay at Days Inn.

Don't keep us in suspense, please!:p

The answer is .......YES !!! They stayed onsite and the absolutely LOVED IT!!! Our trip was last november and we had the best time. Guess what?? 20 minutes after checking in they started to thank me for convincing them to stay onsite and they haven't stopped!! She says they will never stay offsite again. So, yes we have converted another offsite family;)
When I first started the post,I never thought I would get that many responses.I would call them everyday and read them the reasons listed.I think we had them convinced by reason 67.I was just on the phone with her and guess what we were planning?? Our february 2004 onsite vacation of course!!
