100 point contracts

I took a brief break from these boards because the my dreams of buying seemed a bit far off. I should have known better known better. I just saw the boards saying they are doing 100 pt. contracts and read through the threads. Does anyone know if this promotion is still going on?

As far as I know you can still buy in with 100 points at AKV and SSR.

The last time I checked, it was 100 points exactly (no more, no less) for the 100-point deal - and at AKV only.

Is this an offer you have to appear in person for? I've read it was available in Chicago and at the California DVC event. Can you get it at WDW? Over the phone? I was thinking maybe we could start with 100 points at AKL and fill in with BLT (Mmmmmm....bacon....droool).

Since the Doorway and DL Getaway Days events, some members have apparently bought in at WDW as well with this deal - according to the postings on this board. The thread goes like this:

You can buy in 100 points as a new member. This is only available for Animal Kingdom Villas. You can only buy at exactly 100 points (not 110 or 120, etc), or you can go with the 160+ point option. This is available at all locations (WDW, DL, Chicago), including by phone.

No developer points, $96/point ($104 less $8 discount).

I'm just chiming in to say...

I love having 100 points.

Dh and I can take our vacation time anytime we want, and usually do Disney on weekdays, and are fine with studios. With our small contract, we have been able to travel more than we did before purchasing, and have also been able to use our points for a big familly get away (2bdrm & studio in April), and use weekend points, (standard BW studio in January.) We have reserved 2 studios for 5 days in March because we are treating friends. We are also able to use our points to take mini-vacations to Hilton Head every other year. (Yes, we have also transferred in points 1 time, and have stayed 1weekend night at HH on DVC cash.)

After being nice to friends and family, I hope to finally use my 100 points to stay in a studio for 5 days, twice a year with annual passes, or splurge and spend 12 days at Disney. Sun-Thur + 1 week.

(We bought 100 pt. resale for BWV). We would have probably bought from Disney had it been available to us.

I am in the process of purchasing 100 points through Disney at AKV. (Sent papers back yesterday) I purchased by phone.

I agree that 100 points is awesome! I have been playing around with numbers and have the next 4 years planned already!!! Since we don't have kids and can travel whenever we want, we can really make the most of the 100 points.

It would have been another year at least if I had to buy 160 points and I probably would have been stuck with too many points and would have lost some every year or would have had to rent them.

The deal is for 100 pts at AKV only and as my guide phrased it "It's a new promotion for summer" ... which makes me believe it's being put out there to grab the attention of the stimulus checks being distributed. Now if they could drop the closing costs I'd be on board in a heartbeat.

I've been saving up for 160 pts (my long term plans are to own 300 pts). I can pay the cash now for 100, but the deal is sweeter for the AKV 160 pts with matching developer pts offered and no use year fees on those. ~However~ since Disney allows add-ons with no closing costs I can go for the 100 and start adding on in small chunks as the funds allow & I can reach my goal sooner with no financing.

It's a matter of personal choice, but saving on those closing costs would set the deal for me. ... if they want to toss in a few developer points it'd be nice too, but I don't see that happening anytime soon hehe.

Over the phone through DL so I could get into the VGC Founding Members program. We've been wanting to change our UY, but I didn't want any contracts over 100 points so this worked great for us. We typically travel in the Fall so this Aug UY will work great for us.

Our current contracts before this purchase are at SSR with a Feb UY (100/60/60 points). I've put the two 60 point contracts up for sale last Wed. and one has already sold.

Now we own at our two favorite resorts and we'll be adding on at the VGC as soon as they go on sale.
