I don't know if this is the right forum in which to post this question/message, but I am thinking about purchasing my first 100 point contract and I wanted to know what you do with your 100 point contract? :confused3 For example, what time of the year do you visit Disney? What days of the week do you vacation? Where do you stay??? :thumbsup2 If you're an owner and you only have 100 points to play with during your "use year", I'd love to know your opinions, suggestions, etc., etc., etc. You can either post here or send me a direct message!

I REALLY appreciate your help!!!

We have 100 points - 2 x 50 pts.

This year we stayed:
3 nights value studio akv in September
4 nights value studio + 3 nights studio bcv in December

We're going in June and staying:
4 nights okw studio + 3 nights bcv studio

We have bought a point or two from Disney, but I feel it can be worth it to get an extra night for 30 or 45 bucks.

We haven't travelled and do not plan on traveling during the most expensive point season

I will say I have the urge to add on...but only paying $500 per year in annual dues is wonderful.
We looove our 100 points...I feel like we've already gotten the value and we've only owned our contracts for a year...bought resale pre-restrictions...I think I would still buy resale again tho if we were to add.

If we had to stay in a 1 bedroom - wed only be able to do one week every other year...I don't think that'd be enough!!

:) DH and I have 210 points at AKV but I can tell you how we made the most of them this year.

I used 138 points to book 2 value studios (69x2)at Jambo 10/26-11/02. Us in one and MIL in the other.

That left me with 72 points, so I bought 23 or 24 one time use points for a total of 95. This gave DH and I a week in May in a standard view studio at Kidani.

Max use of points for us.

We bought a 100 point resale contract last summer. So far we are very happy but I will probably add on a 25-30 point contract at some point.

Last year we did 6 nights island view studio at Aulani in September. We had to buy 14 one time points for this.

This year we have stayed 1 night in a studio at SSR and 1 night in a studio at BCV. Both of these were in January. We have a 4 night studio reservation in May at SSR. We may try to switch this to the BWV and will have to buy a few one time points.

100 points can stretch pretty far with some planning.

We have 150 points and 5 kids, so we always stay in a 2 bedroom (or treehouse). We bank/borrow our points so that we can go down for 1 week every other year in November. It works very well for us.

We own 100 points and Beach Club and this year we banked, borrowed and used our September points for a total of 300 points to go between Christmas and New Year with our family! Cannot wait! Booked a nice big 2br unit that will sleep 8 so we'll have a mini reunion.

Most important is for you to figure out when you are wanting to vacation and then get your use year based on that. For example, we never vacation in the Summer (too hot) so our UY is September. It works out great since we like to plan vacations in January either for Spring or Fall. We either get new points in Sept for the Fall or we save our points for the Spring. We never get caught in the "just cancelled, about to lose points" situation this way!

Yeah, I usually check in on the last Sunday of April, and check out that Thursday or Friday. :woohoo: Those two days usually fall on the first couple of days in May. I looked at 2012 points, I can get a studio with a Savanna view at Animal Kingdom Lodge for 89 points. :yay: But, I can get a standard view studio at either Boardwalk or Old Key West during that same time for four nights and only use around 56 points, and have 44 to use during the first week of December if I choose to go.

We have 105 and though this isn't completely final here's what the next 2 years look like for us with a little creativity.

July/August this year:

3 nights 1B Vero, 2 nights 1B AKV Savanna (+ 2 weekend nights Vero at the DVC discounted cash rate). I couldn't justify the weekend points rate for Vero so did cash for those 2 nights. We have a DCL cruise in between the 2 DVC stays.

July 2012 (tentative):

8 nights SSR Studio. This may turn into a split stay of 3 nights 1B and 5 nights studio or a different studio than SSR for the 8 nights. We could manage any studio in this scenario except for BLT MK View and those are too small for 4 anyway so that doesn't matter to me. It's more a matter of whether we want a split stay or not but all things being equal, if we can get BW Standard for both, that's probably the route we'll go. Some of the scenarios involve buying a few one time use points but for me, right now, that made more sense than a larger contract and MF.

Obviously both of these trips are at rather peak times which is not my preference but for these 2 trips we are kind of held to it. Still, I think those are pretty nice trips with only 100 points at peak times all things considered! We hope to move that July trip to April but the points are the same so it doesn't really matter all that much.

I think you're going about it backwards. Decide how many points you'll likely need to cover your trips based on history and appropriate assumptions going forward. Once you have that, you can decide what compromises, if any, are appropriate. For example, say you really need 200 points for your anticipated trips instead of just 100. You'll then know what your choices are. They might include buying smaller for now or they might include skipping a year and saving for a larger contract. It might be that buying more points at SSR might be a better choice than say BLT for less points. Lots of choices, hopefully we can give you some things to think about.

WOW!!! That REALLY is creative...BRAVO!!!
I figured with 100 points, I could get a studio at Old Key West for 3 nights in late April, then checkout after the 3rd night, and head over to Vero Beach for 2 nights in an Inn Oceanview room. And later in the year during the first week of December, go to Hilton Head and stay there for 3 nights. And, I think I would have around 12 points leftover!

We have 130 points. We have done everything with them. Weekends in the summer (VWL). Weekdays in December (BWV), a cruise on the Dream, Spring break at HHI. You name it we have been there. It usually involves borrowing. We have not run out yet. It just takes a lot of planning and thinking through what you want to do,

We have 160 but with 100 we would just always stay in studios. We also take advantage of "Disney Sales", as well as using points. We also transfer in points from DISmembers mostly every yr.

100 points I would arrive fri night-sat AM and stay 1 day in a value on cash, then Sun- Sat-ish in a studio I would start with Value AK, Standard BWV, and OKW, but no limits there. Do those trips 1st. I love late aug/sept for points but your sced will assist with time.. this would be as low as 60points, so you could add a few days. About 1/2 the resorts would have options for 7 nights under 100 points.

Personally a perfect trip on about 100 points for us would be in lare Aug to early Sept. coming in Frid last flight checking in at a value for Frid + Sat night. (Prolly doig a deleuxe DDP). Checking into SSR (75 points) for Sun - frid morning in a studio. Going to a non-Disney beach resort, we like Wyndom, for Fri+ sat night I think we pay about 99$ per night, for a 1 bedroom ocean view. Then checking into a BC for Sunday -Tues. (32 points), meaning buying 7 - 1 time use points.

You could do it under 100 at BWV standard, AK value or standard, or OKW. I love SSR, and BC.

We are planning on purchasing a 100 pt contract. Our plans are to stay in Studios (3 of us) and visit WDW every 18 months - 2 years.

Hi Mel here

99 Point Creativity
We visit March each year.
Studio Stay-6 nights, seven days = 89 points OKW
bank over the extra 10 points.

I love OKW and now that we've been a number of times we appreciate that we can just hang out at the resort and enjoy ourselves. Having DTD close by is also great.

We also have a small AKV contract which we just bank over and use for extra nights if needed,
or use them for a full 6 night, seven day stay every 2 or 3 years.

Have Fun Planning

Hugs Mel
