$100 per day for food and souvies

does that sound like enough? It will just be DD9 and I. We have atleast 1 ADR per day, 1 breakfast, 2 dinners and the rest lunches. I want to make sure i have enough money instead of too little.

That should be plenty for just the two of you if you limit yourself to one "nice" meal per day.

If you do a character breakfast, that sucks a fairly large portion away right there. Say $40. So then you can have lunch at a counter service restaurant for $5 child and $10 you, you have $45 left. You can spend $30 at a sitdown restaurant for dinner (that gives you about $22 to eat, kids meals aren't that expensive) and $15 for souvenirs.

If, however, you eat breakfast at the hotel, you can get by for under $15. So that makes lunch and dinner MUCH more flexible.

i'll have extra money and plastic as back-up just in case i go over. i'm sure some days we'll go over and maybe some we will stay under $100/pd. that seems like a reasonable amount to me. we shall see

We budgeted $140/day for our last trip for me, DH, DS3 and DS15months and we were fine. There were a couple days we went a bit over, but most days we were under, so it worked out. We did one sit-down meal (usually a character meal) each day, two days we had two sit-downs (those were the days we went over), but we don't buy a lot of souvies.

You should be ok. I budget $100 day food money for DS(16yo) & I for our quickie trips. I'm sure your DD eats less than he does! We just don't do alot of our more fancy meals on that budget. He's been known to eat that budget alone in one trip to CG......
I figure roughly $15 for CS breakfast, $25 for CS lunch, leaving us $60 for a sit-down dinner. I don't include souvies in the $100 per day budget.....

$100/day for 2 people sounds fine. DH and I just got back from WDW and that was what we had budgeted, for food and souvenirs, and BOY did we fall under that! Were not shoppers though, don't get much of a thrill by purusing store selections, and not big sit down meal fans either. I will say though, that since it was our honeymoon, that we did do a few sit down meals at Ohanas, Jiko, the Coral Reef, the Rainforest Cafe, and the Liberty Tree Tavern, and the most we spent on food and souvenirs for a day was $120, and that was just 2 days. Other days we spent $40 for the whole day and were not limiting ourselves in eating in any way. It shoudl balance out quite nicely.

That's what my boyfriend and I do as well and it always seems to work just fine. We figure in $125 for the first day to cover the $25 for mugs. Days that we have TS or character meals we just eat light during the day (or spend more if we have to)

We spent just over that for EVERYTHING (food, milk for the baby, snacks, souveniers and gifts for people at home) for a family of 3 - two adults, one 4 year old (not including the baby) for 8 days.

I am budgeting $50 per day for myself and 2 sons for our September trip. We'll have a quick breakfast in the room each morning and counter service for most lunches and dinners. If we do a sit-down for lunch, then we'll probably eat late and then just have sandwiches back in the room that evening. I'm hoping it'll work out, but if not, that's fine too if we go over.... This doesn't include souvies - my kids don't really need anymore light-up toys or shooting guns....

Budget? What budget. I always seem to go OVER while at Disney. Must be that good ole' Disney magic and the giddy feeling I always get when I drive under the WDW gates!

You should have lots depending on how many character meals you do. Our family of 5 (3 boys) spent just over $800 for seven days on food and souvenirs. We had breakfast included with our hotel and generally ate counter service for lunch and dinner. The boys don't want to sit long to eat they would rather be on the rides. No one was hungry. I guess it all depends on what your priorities are.

$100 should be plenty for 2. We budget $150 per day for food, souvenirs, and whatever and we are 2 adults and an 11 year old who eats like an adult. Generally we spend about $120 on food per day, sometimes under $100 if we stick to counter service, and occasionally a bit more if we have a few drinks.

We spent about $200 a day for the 4 of us. We like sit down meals when we are on vaca. That is why we are going to go with the dining package next time.

I bought the Mickey straws at the Roaring Forks Snack Bar at the WL to bring home to give out. I think they cost $0.50 each and they were easy to pack. The young kids we gave them to loved them.

Have you considered the Disney dining plan? If you are staying at one of the WDW resorts, you pay $35 per person per day. So for $70 per day you get 2 CS, 2 TS and 2 snacks.

We struggled to keep up with the plan, because it's "use it or lose it" and we found it impossible to eat two square meals a day plus a snack (have you seen Disney portion sizes)? We loved doing TS meals. We even put a few toward a Signature Dining restaurant (Coral Reef).

For us, the dining plan was the way to go.

unfortunately i can't do the dining plan. my room is booked as an overflow from SoG and i purchsed my tickets from ticket mania.

DH and myself always budget around $75 a day and come home with leftover cash, but we always go during the F&W festival so we tend to only have one or two "big" meals during our entire trip.
