Ok I Cant Take All The Posts About The Ap Rate Situation. They Are Not...repeat.....are Not Getting Rid Of Ap Call In Rates!

They Are Only Delaying Releasing Them To Promote The Best Rate Program.

I Have Several Family Members Who Are Travel Agents With Accredited Agencies. All Of They Were Told, By Disney, Ap Rates Are Not Gone, Just Delayed On Purpose.

No Offence But Mom And Pop Agencies (like The Ones Promoted On These Boards) Do Not Speak To The Same Reps That Large Corporate Agencies Speak To. They Are Speaking To The Same Uninformed Cro-s Who Tell Us Different Things Every Time.

I Just Can’t Take The Constant Misinformation. So Yes At Some Point Before October 4th, New Call In Ap Rates Will Be Unveiled.
And No My Family Members Werent Given A Date, They Said They Are Told The Day Of, Or Sometimes The Day Before. So We All Should Just Keep Calling In The Am-s.

I have quietly read all these posts...and the bottom line is Disney is Disney! They make a decision and then either they stick with it...or they play with it...and give it a new name!

Whether they bring back "traditional" APs or not, the current Disney decision is online booking....so choices are:

Hate It, Love It, or Boycott It!

Or...contact one of the OPs Real Estate Agent relatives and buy a condo lol!

Everything at Disney is always subject to change. Everyone knows that. As to the comments made recently on forums by TA's, I am sure that is what they are being told. But the key word in all those statements, this is "currently" the policy.

As to whether only Best Rates will be offered, only time will tell. I am sure not even the Marketing Dept, knows for sure.

Supply and demand will make the decision.

Personally I see no reason to get upset. AP discounts were never a given, not now, not a year ago, not 5 years ago. They have always been released to book rooms when occupancy was down.

If the Best Rate program fills the number of rooms that Disney feels is necessary, then nothing else will be offered. At this point there is no way for them to know that.

If it is not successful, I am sure we will see other options.

That is an interesting post.....but here's the reactive message I received today.

"The only offer available to passholders is the Best Rate Program that is bookable online only. The Best Rate Program is the ONLY offer we will have and REPLACES all other Passholder offers that we have executed in the past."

I sure hope Disney releases AP rates for October soon. With each passing day I become more upset. I*excepted my fate until last week when the 60 day deadline came out. Shut out of the 120 day rate because it was a last minute trip, but hoping for an AP rate, now shut out again.

I'll keep my rack rate ressie for a while, but am thinking of maybe staying DTD. For what I'm paying I could have a one bedroom, with free breakfast, rent a car and still have extra money.

Not all are Mom and Pop agencies as you suggest. A friend of mine works for an agency that does big business with Disney and she tells me the owner of the agency gets a call from the District Sales Manager for her area about 3 times a week and visits the office often. If the agency wasn't as busy as it is, I doubt that they would get the rep to call and visit as often as she does

Speaking of accredited agencies, I highly doubt that Disney district sales managers are going to give incorrect info to their Earmarked Travel Agencies about BRP replacing AP call in rates.

Typically I'd agree with this sentiment, however, in the case of the original poster and the rather snotty tone in which he wrote it, I'm a bit surprised someone hasn't come on to tear him a new one.
