10 yr old at restaurants - if they want a kid's meal?

What is generally done if a 10 year old wants to eat a kid's meal at a sit-down restaurant (non-buffet)? Can he order a kid's meal and be charged extra or ???

We are happy to let him order off the adult menu but he is a fan of chicken nuggets. I"m not trying to pay less for his meal, etc.

My 10 year old ordered off kids menu a couple times. No problem.

At some places he just didn't like the adult menu. Jiko for example. He ordered from the kids menu and instead of using 2 table service credits we just paid cash (or we could have used 2 TS credits for his meal) They didn't charge us extra for this, just whatever the cost of the kids meal.

Good to know! He's my oldest so this is the first time to WDW with him since he turned 10 in November.

DD was quite disapointed when we ate at LTT last March because she wanted the mac and cheese from teh kids menu but here she was 10 years old. We just asked the waiter and he said it was no problem for her to just order off of there. No extra charge. I think with their cutoff being 10 they must get this a lot. She is an adventurous eater to say the least (but she also loves mac and cheese) but the adult portions are just insane for her!

My 10 y/o had no problem ordering off of the kids menu at Raglan Road.

I am way, way, way over 10 years old and I order from the kids meal quite a bit. If you started a thread about adults eating off the kids menu, you'd be surprised at the good number of people that do that. AND it's all ok with Disney!!

My late wife would often order the 4oz filet meal on the Children's Menu at Concourse Steak House and never had any problem.
