10-yr Anniversary

My wife and I will be celebrating our 10-year anniversary on December 27th and when we got married, our honeymoon was as an outstanding 9-day trip to Walt Disney World in January.

We will be making another trip in January, this time with our two children (4 and 7).

Is there anything special that Disney does for a 10-year anniversary? We'll also be celebrating (hoping!!) our son's battle with an unknown condition where he was vomiting daily for almost a year. He's gone about 6 weeks now without vomiting so we're hoping as he's being weened off the medicines will be done by the time we go (Jan 19-25). My wife also had skin cancer and overcame that.

2013 hasn't been kind for us and I didn't even mention that I had sinus surgery last January (2013) after battling a severe case for 4 months.

I'd love to be picked for the family of the day at Magic Kingdom, I think for my son, it would be awesome as he's really gone through a lot.

You can certainly arrange (and pay for) special celebrations like a custom cake, dessert party, etc. and note your celebrations on your reservations. By noting your celebrations, you might get some pixie dust like free desserts at restaurants but nothing is guaranteed unless you arrange it yourself.

As far as family of the day goes, I would recommend getting to MK as early as you can to see if you are chosen. I don't think that's picked on advance.

You can see if they have the Anniversary buttons at guest services. DH and I wore those for our 5th anniversary and got a little pixie dust (special photo with Donald; phone call from Mickey and Minnie; lots and lots of well wishes).

As the PP said, nothing is guaranteed. If you note your anniversary on your reservations, wear the buttons, and get the ear of the right CM you might get something special, but the only way to make sure is to arrange it yourself in advance.

Glad your son is doing better. I've had GI problems my whole life and recently got a definitive diagnosis. It's a relief just to have a name to put to it! I hope he continues to feel well!
