my daughter will be 10 when we go to disney again next year...so now i guess in disney she is consdiered a adult in the dining plan looking at the menus i dont see much she will be interested in...can she get a adult portion of a kids meal and be charge for her table service credit or does she have to order from the adult menu...

Anything at Disney is possible. I also have a picky eater that RARELY likes what the adult menu offers. He almost always orders from the children's menu and never leaves hungry. Don't fret... plenty of great choices on all kids menus and if you don't see what you are looking for... just ask because lots of times they have extra things that are not listed :)

I will find out in a few months because I have a 10 year old. This should be interesting...she'd much rather have a hot dog than a sirloin. :lmao:
I've been told they will be accomodating. Here's to hoping.

Depending on the restaurant you can ask if:

-she can order from the children's menu and have it made into an adult portion and use her adult credit. This way she'll be able to order from the adult dessert menu as well. :)

-she can order from the children's menu, but not increase the portion and just pay OOP. You can use her credits for 2 credit meals or additional meals elsewhere.

-she can order something from the adult menu that she finds interesting, but if she doesn't care for sauces or sides have it made plain or substitute other sides.

Here are our ideas: My son swapped lots of stuff, American cheese for swiss, for example. There are cheeseburger/sandwich options all over the place. Buffets were great too. He loved the adult chicken strips quality much better than the kids. Here are some kid friendly places: The Plaza, Rainforest, Kona breakfast, Planet Hollywood, Crystal Palace buffet, Tusker buffet, Captains grill lunch, ESPN club, Resort QS esp. the Coronado, Sunshine Seasons, Boma breakfast, Earl of Sandwich. My son is super picky, but we did well making simple swaps. In fact, he didn't want anything to do with the kids menu. Be informed and check out all menus, have plan in mind for QS.

DD did this a few times when we were on the regular dining plan. I remember she got pizza once (just a small child size one) they offered her a 2nd pizza to make it into a bigger meal (aka adult sized). The pizza was nothing to write home about if you know what I mean but at least she had enough to eat.

I recommend buffets and places like Garden Grill where the food is served family style. You could ask for the kids meal (mac & cheese etc) for her - it's kid food but family style so they'll bring you more of whatever you want.

OP, thanks for this thread! On our next trip I've invited a friend and her soon to be 10 son. He's autistic and very particular about his food textures. The kid's menu has more that appeals to him so it's good to know that he can order from that.
