We're planning a trip in November and since our last trip my eldest daughter has turned 10. She eats like a bird however, so ....

I was wondering what the latest rules are about a 10 year old ordering off of the children's menu? Has anyone recently returned who has some info on this.

Thanks in advance for your help.

We always do the DDP and it has never been a problem. As a matter of fact my 16 yr old ordered off it before. But that was with paying a adult price for the plan. Not sure what the outcome would be without the plan.

The only time there is an issue is if you're on the DDP. The official word is that adult TS credits can't be used for kids meals. The solution we came to was for DS when we did the DDP was to pay OOP for him.

If your not on the DDP, anybody can order from the kids menu. My picky BIL did the whole time he was at the World :goodvibes

We'll be on the DDP during free dining this Aug. Ds (10) enjoys a good steak, some of our ADR's won't be serving steak however. If we pay OOP and order from the kids menu, what would the pricing be? I don't expect chicken nuggets to be $15, but i don't expect to pay child's rate as well.

Check out the menus here on the dis or at allears. Most of the TS kids meals are $7.50.

My DS was 10 when we did the DDP, he ate all "adult" CS and mostly just buffets for "adult" TS. It wasn't until the end of our trip that he decided he loved filet mignon :rotfl:

Does this mean, they'll just charge him the kid's price?

If you decide to pay OOP (not use his DDP credits) you'll pay for whatever he orders, so if he gets just a kids meal, that's all you'll be charged for. If he orders an appetizer & salad ( not gonna happen with my son) you would pay for that. If he needs more food than the kid meal provides but doesn't have "adult" tastes, you can check with the server to see about ordering a double order and how much that would cost.

Thank you for the clarification.

if ur not on the DDP technically anyone can order from kids menu... ur server wont say no!

on DDP u can use an adult credit to purchase a kids meal, just not the other way round. so say u had a 10 year old who wanted a kids pizza entree, they could have adult app, kids entree, and adult desert.

or u could save the adult credit and pay OOP if you were going to have the opportuinity to use it at another time

my sister (in her 30's) ordered several times from the kids menu. No one cared that she did that. :thumbsup2 have a great time!
