10 year DVC pin???

Has anyone received the 10 year DVC membr pin? I just saw one for sale on Ebay and wondered about it. Did they only issue it to members who have been members for 10 years or is it being issued to all DVC members to commemorate their 10 year anniversary? Thanks for any info.

I saw that last weekend on ebay. It was given to members who went on the 10th anniversary cruise.

The pins were also given out at member updates. We went to 2 updates two weeks ago and got one each time.

I tried to buy one of these at VWL, asking for any members only pins, but they said there were none! We didn't want to schlepp all the way over to BWV for an update and can't cruise during the year due that job thing I have . Guess I lose.

Actually there are two pins which look the same. One was given on the DVC cruise in the Spring. The other was given to Cast Members. The only difference is the written out "ten years" on the CM pin is different colors whereas it's one color on the other pin.

It never hurts to ask. How else would you ever find out?

The Member Update meetings are held twice weekly, Tuesdays at OKW and Thursdays at BWV.

The meetings last about an hour. Most of it is usually a pitch about all the ways you can use your points outside of DVC. (kind of a subliminal pitch to get you to buy more points?)

Other items discussed may include status updates on things that are happening such as the Institute construction, Refurbishments, etc.

They ususally have a few door prizes, and also small 'gifts' to hand out to various members based on questions/answers, or whatever the CM feels like doing.

If you've never been to one, it'd be worth doing at least once so you know what goes on. They do serve coffee, juice, and danish so at least you get a bite to eat.

We always get a telephone message the day before reminding us of the meeting.

We have been members for over 10 years, I thought that we might get a card or something for the anniversary, but alas nothing! I remember the first year we got a Xmas card, but that has also died somewhere along the way. I guess I shouldn't complain since this is probably part of keeping the dues reasonable.

At the member updates you can win one of the elusive DVC ballcaps.(at least this summers meetings at OKW) After 5 tries, it took DD one time to win one for thy receding hairline.

On our last cruise at the DVC member reception, they gave each of us a 10-year pin, a ball cap and luggage tags.

At the DVC member's reception this past January, we got an el cheapo plastic watch with a DVC logo. No hats this time. No luggage tags. And the CM's running the reception knew less about DVC than the members. Quite a change from the crew that they had on the inaugural 7-day cruise.

I ended up buying my DVC 10 year pin on eBay.

DVCajun: Were they the dark blue with embroidered logo member caps?We sure didn't see any in any of the DVC giftshops this summer.We did see the 10yr.ann stuff.They were elusive to us anyway.
