10 Year Ban

Well add me to the list of those being banned for 10 years. I'm actually not sure what I did. I know what they think I did. I recieved a warning last week for using soft keys and then started entering codes by hand. I still type pretty fast as I've been using a keyboard for 20 years and feel that they think I was still using a program. I was banned for 24 hours about 45 minutes later. Since that time I just did credit runs, purchased a few items, made a few trades and entered a few codes. This morning I logged on and found the the big blue box with my personal message of displeasure. So unless VMK reconsiders, it's been fun while it lasted. I just wish I was able to give all my stuff away on my terms before it was taken by VMK on theirs.

I sent a message to the big black hole but don't realy expect a quick response; any help on how to get my account back would be appreciated.

Wow! I cant believe you got banned for 10 years. I dont see the point why you got banned though?? I dont see what was wrong from what you were doing - credit runs, purchusing items, made trades, and entered codes. Why would you get banned for such a thing?

I think they felt I was still using an outside program to enter codes. I was entering a code about every 10-15 seconds with typing. But I guess I will wait for a response to find out.

I also use VMK Pal to log in with. Maybe that is the problem. I will ask and find out if I ever get a response.

You can always just make a new account, I know that will not get your stuff back and that is a real bummer.


I do beleive if I ever get banned for any lenght of time I will trade all my stuff to another account and not take the risk of being permanently banned and losing all I have.


So sorry this happened to you and I do hope you succeed in getting your acct returned!

That is so sad i could not live! that is way to long and i bet you got an IP ban so you cant make a new player? I am so so sorry for you!! I mean the longest i have been banned is one month and that was really hard for me! I got an IP ban so i could not make a new player i was like bored for one whole month but i did read and stuff but it wasnt the same so sad sad for you! and wish you luck so you can go back in early maybwe it might happen well sorry and you cant live right? or you not like me I could not live if that happened and if i got banned for ever oh my! I still dont get it - if you are allowed to enter codes then why are they banning you for doing such a thing? if they dont want people entering any codes then they should just take it off. I still dont get the point???

mouseman68 - I dont think he got banned for typing too fast. Now that I think of it I think he got banned for using soft keys to enter codes. But still - how would they know???? VMK people do know everything but come on - how do they know??? I'm confused by this.....

Here is how it went:

I used VMK Pal to log in with. (did this effect it, I don't know)

I entered about 20-30 codes using softkeys or whatever not realy quickly but was using program. (Recieved warning for using external product)

Stopped using program, jumped between VMK window and other internet windows entering codes by hand, one key stroke at a time. About 30-45 minutes later when I clicked back and forth between VMK and my excel spreadsheet to get next codes I had message that I was banned for 24 hours and to think about my actions.

Came on the the following days and through this weekend, doing credit runs, making trades, talking with folks and entering codes still by hand one key stroke at a time. However when I triad to log in this morning it say's I have been banned until 2016 for not following VMK Values. I can only assume it is because I entered codes too quickly.

But the strange part is that it states it began last Thursday and I was on this weekend, I even bought the pirate pin. So I'm not sure what's going on. So words to the wise, don't enter codes with software or too quickly.

The one bright spot is that if I still played this game in ten years all my items would be awfully rare by that time.

If the IP is banned, you can go to the trouble of resetting it, if I'm not mistaken.

You can also go to someone else's computer and log in as yourself, can't you, if it's banning an IP and not a specific account?

What a total bummer. I am really sorry for you - I hope that you get the situation resolved and I see RomeNome active on my friends list again!
