I recently found out that I am 10 weeks pregnant. I was wondering if anyone new the rides or other things that I will be able to do??? My husband and I love the fact that Im finally pregnant, but a little upset that I cant ride the rides with him. So I was wondering all the little things that I can do!! Please help!!!

I went to Europe at 10 wks and walked ALL DAY LONG for days. Walked up and down lots of stairs..lots of climbing at those old "landmarks". I know it's not the same as roller coasters. I'm a physical therapy assistant and work with stroke pts (lots of lifting) and my doc said it was fine to do most of the lifting..don't do a max lift by myself of course. My friend did aerobics almost everyday of her pregnancy and was a cyclist til the end. My co-worker is 20 weeks and still teaching her Karate classes.

The human body is amazing. It is designed to protect the precious cargo you are carrying. A ride on the tea cups or Rock-n-Roller Coaster is not going to cause a MC. The "tests" have not been done to prove otherwise but women have been doing amazing things while pregnant since the beginning of time. But like I said...ask your doc!

Have fun...there's really only minimal intense rides so there will plenty to do.

There are tons of shows & rides you can do! I went at 13 weeks, and here is a sample of what I went on: Small World, Dumbo, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Spaceship Earth, Great Movie Ride. The things I avoided like the plague are: Tower of Terror, Star Tours, Rockin' Roller Coaster, Dinosaur, Test Track, Spece Mountain. Anything that was a thrill ride, I stayed away from, which I normally do anyway, so I didn't miss it. Our DD will go for her first trip (outside the womb) in a couple of months. Have a great time, drink a lot, rest often, make sure you have your Dr.'s ok.

Make sure you drink all you are supposed to! I went when I was preggo with both kids in the first trimester, had a great time...It was nice to have so many different choices of food to help with morning sickness. I did not drink enough with the second and wound up with a painful UTI that lasted the rest of my pregnancy. So ask your dr. how much to drink and bring a filtered water bottle...the drinking water there is not good and I did not like the bottled water either. I went on all the rides with both kids. They are perfect now...4 and 1. Have a great time and congrats.

I went when I was 3 months pregnant and my doctor said that the baby is very well protected in the womb. I went on everything that I wanted to. I went on Splash Mountain and that was probably the extent of my thrill rides. So talk to your Doctor. It might also depend on what Tri-mester you are in.

I went to disney when I was pregnant with my second at 4months and did just about everything... the only three things I didn't do were Rock N Roller Coaster, Space Mountain, and TOT. Otherwise I did everything else. I did ask the doctor before I went and he said I could do RNR and TOT.. but I didn't take the chance on those. Enjoy your trip.

I went at 5 months and would not go on any thrill rides. I know there are differing opinions on this, but I could never forgive myself if something went wrong. I have read that Splash Mountain is not recommended because of the position you are sitting in (slightly reclining). This can cause undue pressure on your abdomen, or something like that. I'm not sure of the particulars, but I remember someone posting about this on the boards. I just couldn't convince myself that a few rides were worth taking a chance. Freaky things happen every day. Remember the water and takes many breaks to put your feet up. Have fun!!! Sometimes a slower-paced trip can provide as many wonderful memories as the one full of running around.

Congratulations!!!

I went when I was 5 months pregnant. Still had a blast and never felt left out. Personally I would follow the recommendations of WDW on the rides not to do. That included the thrill rides that others have mentioned and the safari etc. My main reason is why take the chance? I had just as much fun people watching. You still get to soak up the magic and that's the most fun. Have a great time when you go!!

I've been to WDW at 5 weeks, 7 weeks and 23-25 weeks (about 5.5 months). I'm going to be there again in week 20 this year. I've been at WDW pregnant with every one of my kids!

With my first I was 5 weeks....I avoided stuff I knew would give me motion sickness, mainly Star Tours and Body Wars. I went on Splash Mountain, BTMRR, and I think that's pretty much it. At that point I had never tried Space Mt and didn't want to try it for the first time pregnant.

At 23-25 weeks I avoided all rides with restraints.....(this was my second pregnancy) and I didn't do Splash Mountain or anything big. I did ride the Safari at AK....just ask to sit up front where its less bumpy...they are very accomodating. I wouldn't ride it very late in pregnancy for fear of rupturing membranes (unless you're trying to induce labor!)

This past visit at 7 weeks I rode BTMRR, but nothing else that could be considered a thrill ride (unless you count the Barnstormer). This early in pregnancy there's really not much you can do that could cause a problem....barring significant truama to your body. That would have to be caused by an accident...and I think I'm safer on BTMRR than on I95. Later in pregnancy is a different issue.

On my next trip I'm skipping all the thrills (I'll still do the safari...sitting towards the front)....I just don't think I'll fit, besides the fact that baby will be right out there in front and more vulnerable. Plus, I think we tend to get a little more protective of our bodies as pregnancy rolls on.

10 weeks is probably getting towards where I'd stop doing the rougher stuff....but I'm usually starting to show by then! Or at least with my 2nd and 3rd (I'm actually almost 9 weeks and starting to show now... most people wouldn't know, but I can tell!) Use your best judgement and whatever professional resources you rely on for your pregnancy. And have fun! There is a lot to do without getting strapped in and thrown around!

And the Space Mountain thing is about the possibility of cutting off blood flow...the same reason its not comfortable to sleep on your back....ironically, this is the same position most women are forced to give birth in, so I take it with a grain of salt. Frankly, once you're big, you just won't fit! I'd be much more concerned about the restraints and what they'd do to the baby if there were a sudden stop than sitting in a semi reclining position for a minute or two.
