Good Morning

Today is my Friday. YAY. I volunteered to work over time. Seemed like a good idea when I signed up 2 weeks ago. DH left again today firefighting thought he was going to Oregon this time but it is back to California. I am so tired today wish I could just go home.

Would love some of your rain here in Colorado. It has been kind of dry again this summer.

Today is my Friday too We recently switched to a 4/10 schedule it's only a trial period untill Nov. I really like it, I hope they keep it.

I hear rumors my company is throwing around the idea of switching us to 4/10's. That would be awesome, maybe. Would have to become a little creative with the DD in the day care.

Will absolutely keep those firefighters in my prayers. I love firemen. I love any human who puts his life on the line to protect strangers!

Hey guys, yesterday was my Friday too!!!!!!! Ain't we all just too special!!! You know what they say, " Smart minds think alike!!!!!!!" Wish my company would go to 4/10's, I would love that!!!. Don't see that happen'n' anywheres soon though. The dept I work in is small and usn' employees tried banning together a few years ago and we even worked out a schedule to propose 4/10's to the head honch-o, the big cheese, the man with the plan, you know the boss. He didn't buy it though. Of course he doesn't make the top decisions, just orders us little guys around. But, without his support the plan fizzled, died, failed on the drawing board. Bummer!!!!
Since today is a free day you would think I would be a man of leisure today. You would think, huh..............but noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo........ DW makes out this list longer then my arm of things she wants me to do today. Just lookn' at this list..........................some of these things are her chores!!!! I tried to mention this to my sweet and loving better half and I get this funny eye look, you know where you don't turn your head but give this side eye look, scared the heck out of me. And the look on her face, like if you mention this again YOU WILL BE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SORRY!!!!!!!!!!! So, ok I'm doing all of these special chores today.
One last thing before I start my day, I too want to give a great big thanks to all our firemen for all of their help. You guys are the best!!!!

Hi all ... Today is my Friday too, however Monday is a holiday for us so I get a 3 day weekend too.

Val ... Have a great trip to Hawaii! I would say I wish I was going with you, but then I would miss my cruise. I leave in 8 days, and the cruise is in 16 days.

As an aside, have any of you seen the new ABD adventures for 2009. The Boston/New York one looked appealing. I might have considered opting for that instead of this cruise if they had offered Little Mermaid instead of Mary Poppins, as I saw Mary Poppins in London last year. I told my daughter that we will skip an ABD in 2009. Hopefully they will add a Japan or Greece tour soon!

As an aside, have any of you seen the new ABD adventures for 2009. The Boston/New York one looked appealing.

No, DCL isn't paying me commission but perhaps they should? Maybe not so much for Christa because through my prompting, she chose the cheaper cruise. As far as my friend Lori, she hasn't made an appearance here yet but she will. She's an obsessive planner. She can't stay away forever!

I lived in Boston for a couple of years and keep whining I want to go back and visit. Of course, I think DD is still too young (4) because when in Boston, you walk and walk and walk. I've dragged a 4 year old through Boston many times (DS) and he did well but DD is not as good natured as DS! So, I will have to wait and return when she's around 9, I think that's a good age to tour the country's birth place. And it's so fun to take a train from Boston to NYC!! We'll certainly have to do that when we go and see a show in NYC!!! I'd see Mary Poppins. Just at work today we were singing the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious song!! (We were a little slap happy at work today!) I did see Beauty and the Beast in NYC and let me just tell you - it was amazing. AMAZING! Of course, what Disney Broadway production would be anything but AMAZING??

Hello everyone,

Just catching up with all the posts and seeing how everyone is.

I hope all of you leaving on vacations have a wonderful time! We are on a countdown to our cruise! 14 months and counting! Our vacation time between now and then will be spent college hunting!

The weekend has been beautiful here in Nevada! For the first time in weeks we have blue skies! The smoke is finally gone from all of the California wildfires.

We are talking about rebooking on board for the Oct 10 2009 St. Croix Eastern for next year...2009. They one ya'll are on!! Do you recommend we book now or wait the 2 months for the rebooking on board discount. Have the prices risen since most of you booked? I'm having some sticker shock! It is so much higher than what we paid for this year for the same date.

I think it would be fun to try a new port! We just don't know what prices will do in the next two months and if will offset the on board discount.

I would highly recommend booking it now. The prices are just going to go up. You can always rebook onboard if the prices are lower and/or discount and onboard credit makes it lower. If you book online right now, you'll only have to pay 1/2 the usual deposit.

Hope ya'll can make on our cruise next year Texasgirl. I'm from sunny Florida, but it's been rain'n here for awhile now. Thanks goodness, we need this rain. We rebooked while on our last cruise and got a 10% discount on the cruise plus a $200.00 ship board credit. Thought that was pretty good! But thinking about it, booking now and only paying half the deposit then if'n you can still get the 10% discount and $200.00 credit while rebooking on board is better you could still go for that. Now that does sound better. Wish I was in your position. One last thing I read that Disney has added, just like all the other cruise lines, a fuel charge fee on to everyone that booked a cruise after May of this year. I'm sure that is why the prices are some what higher. Not sure, but I think it is something like $7.00 or $8.00 per person per day for the first two passengers.

Thanks David... Time to get to some serious packing .. Looks like my mom is getting discharged from the hospital tomorrow (today is a holiday), so I will have time now. Regarding the surcharge, David is right. I paid mine off the end of April to avoid the surcharge. I can't believe I am heading to LA on Sunday. Take care all.
