10-Oct-2009 - Eastern Magic St. Croix

:yay: ...I'm so excited to be sailing with some old friends and hopefully making many new ones..:dance3: :dance3:

Old?? Who are you calling "old"? :confused3

 I can't tell you how excited I am you switched to this sail date. Everytime I think about it, I get butterflies in my tummy!!!! :yay: :woohoo:

Wanted to say welcome aboard to all our new cruisers joining us.:thumbsup2

Hey Jajomo, my DW, DGD and myself boarded the Magic last October as ya'll were getting off. We are going on a short 3 day cruise this October. We've never been on the Wonder and wanted to check it out. (To be completely honest with you we need a cruise fix to get us thru until we sail in 09!!!):lmao: But like all of us we can't wait for the nice long 7 day cruise. Even though those 7 days fly by much tooooooooooooooo fast!!!:rotfl2:

Well, I better get to work, boss is looking at me again. Talk to ya'll again soon!!!!

We did too!!!!!;)

Hi Christa .. You are welcome, however, I can't take full credit, as a friend from work gave me all the info.

So :welcome: aboard our joyous little cruise.

:thumbsup2 ........THANK YOU...for the warm welcome everyone...This is so gonna be a great cruise...............:dance3:  :dance3:

I wonder if I'm going to be able to afford airfare for this cruise, with all the craziness that's going on. I'm glad I have time to sit back and see if things stabilize. I'll be looking for insurance with default protection on it, for sure.

I hear you ... I bought my air for my August trip on the day SW opened up. My flight has gone up $88 already. At least I still get to bring 2 bags!

I'm trying real hard not to think about it and hope things make a change by next year. I get freaked out every time I hear an airline is going to charge $$$ per bag - knowing we needed 6 bags to get ourselves to the cruise last year. I thought 6 bags for 4 people on a week long cruise was really good. Ugh... :worried:

I'm going to forget even considering packing the smaller suitcases. From here on out, if they're going to charge me for even the first bag, it's going to be the big one, and I'll bring the travel scale to make sure I'm not overweight. United joined the ranks of charging for the first bag and Frontier announced that they'll be charging for the second. US Air announced that their complimentary in-flight beverage service will now carry a $2 charge.

DH and I are waiting for the sales at Christmas to purchase the really large suitcases, as well. If we're going to get charged, I'm with you - I'm bringing the biggest suitcase I can buy and keep the weight limit within guidelines. :thumbsup2

I did see about the $2 soda charge. The news has had nothing positive to say today and since I'm on vacation and at home, I'm hearing a lot of it. Talk about depressing stuff. :( It's too bad you can't bring liquids through TSA so you're left paying highway robbery prices in the airport shops or paying the airlines their $2 fee. Blogs have been teasing they'll start charging to use the toilets on the plane but I'm starting to wonder if they are on to something with their theory!! :stir:

Make sure the suitcases are within the airlines' size limitations before you buy them.

us too...our back up plan is the auto train...but we would much rather fly, 2 hours has 17 beat anyday!!

we took 2lg, 2sm and 2 large duffles plus carry on's...and i washed 2 loads mid-week...I know that is the bare minimum we could get by with!!!::yes::

We usually only carry on our laptop bag, but now, we'll be carrying on a lot more if they will charge us for the second and possibly first bag. For our August trip, we are grandfathered for both Frontier and Air Tran (I printed out the emails from their customer service saying that!).

DW & I was just readn' yer reports about flyn' down here for our cruise next October.:faint: We are sorry to hear about the increase in plane fares and luggage charges for everyone. We are lucky that we live here in Florida. We live on the west coast, just about 25 miles west of Tampa. We drive over to WDW the day before and spend the night, then drive over to the port from there. We're hoping something will give ya'll a nice break by the time our cruise comes up. We'll keep our fingers and toes crossed for you!!:thumbsup2  I crossed my eyes once and like my mama said, "keep it up smarty and someday they will get stuck that way." Scared the you know what out of me as a kid. Mama was good at that. She could scare the warts offn' a wart hog!!!!!:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
Well talk to ya'll soon. Keep thnikn' and dreamn' Disney thoughts!!!!:mickeyjum :donald: :tigger: :sulley: :ccat: :tinker: pluto: ::MinnieMo

So what is everyone doing for vacation this year? We have a few more small trips planned but nothing big untill our next cruise.

Jajomo0118 (Christa)

Glad you had a good time and enjoyed Betty's ... I'll have to try it sometime :thumbsup2 . I watched your video and it looks like the boys had fun. I can't remember if you told me or not, but was this their first trip to the falls? It is quite the sight to see. I don't remember what was more fun, my first trip, or watching my daughter's expression on her first trip when she was five.

It was their first time. I loved seeing the expression their faces when we did "Journey Behind the Falls" ..they were completely taken back by the force of it..It was pricless....:lovestruc

DH said in private "this sure ain't a Disney Cruise"...lol
I think he missed his towel animals at night...:rotfl: and the illusion of not paying for anything......:hyper:

Hi all ... Thought I would bring us back to the top of the board. Hope all are doing well! Take care and have a great weekend. We are off to see Wicked in Buffalo this Sunday and will probably get in some shopping as well! ::yes::

Enjoy! My family is looking forward to seeing Wicked in LA in three weeks :goodvibes The sound track has been playing constantly at home, in the car, on the ipod with headphones at work... love it!

Just wanted to pop in to say hi. We are finally getting some much needed rain down here in the Sunshine State!!!:worship: :worship: :thumbsup2 I know our visitors probably are not all that happy about it, but usn' locals are loven' it. April and May are normally our dryest months and this year was no exception. Seemed even drier then normal if you ask me. Yesterday it rained almost all day long, and today it is starting out the same. :cool1: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Well, I hear my lovely DW sweet voice bellowing.............. I mean hollering....
I mean calling to me. She must have a chore she needs me to help her..........
I mean she wants me to tackle on my own while she supervises and orders me around!!!!!! Coming sweetie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:
