10 nights....too much?

In 2006 (our first family trip with all children) we stayed 5nts/6ds. That was not long enough. Last year, we stayed 8 nights. That was not long enough. This year we have ressies for 10 nights. I hope that will be long enough. When I was at the POP laundry room last Aug. I met a lady from the UK who was there for 28 days! They had free dining and when I asked if they got sick of the food every night she said they ate at a signature restaurant every other night.

i'm planing a 10day trip for October 2009 or March 2010.
We usually go in december, but wanted to try out the water parks.
How do you plan your days?
2park days, waterpark, Rest Day, 2 Park Days, WaterPark, rest day, park Day?

:confused3 :confused3

10 days is not too much!

We are going in July for 10 days. We normally do anywhere from 7-10 each trip. With 10 days you are able to relax and take your time in each park, since you can always go back a second day. We can only go in July due to work and school. Therefore, with the heat and elderly/young members in our party, we have to go about everything really slow.

I say enjoy your 10 days and live it up!

I would love to stay 10. We're only staying 7 nights and are now kicking ourselves that we didn't book for longer. (our airfare is already paid and nonrefundable. Not worth the penalty to change). Enjoy your wonderfully long stay!!!!

We HAVE to do two weeks in May or we would explode. Besides, we planned our DVC points so we could do it. All we have to pay for is the food!

We'll start off saying we're on our 41 trip and our stays have been anywhere from 4 nights to 14. Long ago, in the 70's, one park, 5 nights were good. Fast forwarding to 2007, our vacations have grown to the 10-12 night varieties. We opted to stay longer per trip per year instead on 2 shorter trips, travel expense only once and stay alot longer. We really like the longer stays, we do not switch resorts, have no rental car, did a grocery stop and have our room set up like its our home. We see more, relax more and never return home tired. Commando trips went out with the extended stays, throw in a couple down days to see the rest of the world, and we never leave Disney Property to go anywhere else and it couldn't get any better other than to live in WDW, my dream.

Longer is better, too much to see and do and vacations are supposed to be relaxing, not hectic and nerve racking, so we now do 10-12 nights and love every minute of it.

10 nights and 11 days this time around for us. I don't think its too long, it gives you time to go to all the parks more than once with afternoon breaks if you want them. There's a whole lot to see/hear/do/eat!!

Ten days will be perfect. We have 10 days/9 nights and it's the perfect amount of time for us.

We usually just hang around the resort the first day, unpack our clothes, get a lay of the land of the resort, go by a nearby grocery store, etc.

On our 2nd and 3rd days, we hit the parks.

On our 4th day, we have a "down day". We sleep in and then do whatever we want that day. We may go shopping, rent watercraft or go swimming.

Our 5th and 6th days, we hit the parks again.

On our 7th day, we will hit a water park or Downtown Disney.

Our 8th and 9th days are spent in the parks.

Our 10th day is our check out day. Our drive is 14 to 16 hours but we still hang around the resort a while and usually pick up a bite to eat at the food court before heading back home. Just hate leaving!

I don't think it is too long. We too stay 10-12 nights and do pretty much the same thing. I have four boys ages, 11, 9, and twins that are 4. They love staying longer and don't get tired of Disney. It is easier for us to do one long trip than two short trips, and we only pay for travel expenses once. It is more relaxing to us. If plans get changed it's not that big of a deal because we have more days to work with. We plan a couple days to just sleep in a little bit and go to waterparks.

With a travel day on each end of my holiday, I usually try to stay at WDW at least 10 nights. Otherwise, I've spent too many hours in the air for too short a vacation! *LOL*

I have 2 park days, rest day, 2 park days, rest day, 3 park days, home.

Now , after reading all your posts, I am wishing our arrival was earlier in the day, so we could have even MORE time!! Boy am I spoiled!

We are planning to go in sept (VERY hopefully ) during free dining. We have decided on 10 nights, arriving late on the 12th, just getting there in time to sleep, and leaving the morning of the 22nd. So, this will give us 9 full days at Disney. The longest we have stayed before was 8 nights. I have to full rest days worked into our scedule. Does anyone feel like 10 is too much? Anyone else do trips this long? I guess you could say a week and half and it sounds like less!!

Well... I hope not because we are going for the exact same number of days on the exact same dates:cutie:
I am looking forward to a slightly slower pace and just really enjoying ourselves with the kids. If we're tired it won't be a big deal we can spend the day by the pool rather than feel rushed.
Enjoy yourself!:goodvibes

10 days is definitely not too long! Our best trip ever was last August for 12 days. Good luck and enjoy your trip.

GIrl, please.....

NO WAY! Its not too long....

We will see you there - arriving SUnday the 14th morning, and leaving the 24th in the evening!

11 days! Yee ha!

:goodvibes

I think a lot of people would be envious to be going for 10 nights, no question. We are. The last 2 times we went we were lucky enough to stay for 12 nights. It is awesome. You have enough time to relax and have a whole lot of fun in the same trip. We found that there were things that we wanted to to that we didn't have time for, seriously. I think there is never enough time to do everything you want at Disney.

Sit back relax and know that you're going to have an awesome time. ;)

Andy

we go earliest flight, first thing in the AM and hit the parks, we do 10 full days and 9 nights, and these are full days... no rest, rest when you are dead.

LOL this is how we vacation too! We'll be there this summer for
10 full days and we won't rest a minute!!!!:goofy:

We did 10 days this past April. I loved it. This year we are doing 8 nights. I'd love to do like 12 nights, that'd be heaven!
