We have our WDW vacation right now scheduled for early December when DD will be a little over 10 months old. Based on work schedules, etc.. we may have to reschedule the trip for early February when DD would have just turned 1.

I know that is not a great age difference but do any of you with experience taking kids this young know if it would be easier to take a 10 month old vs. a 12 month old? DD should be off bottles and eating more table food at 12 months so that would certainly be easier but I also thought she might not like being in the stroller for long periods of time at 12 months. :confused3

When, if ever, they decide to start getting out of the stroller depends on when the child starts to want her freedom. DS#1 started walking shortly after he turned 8 months. Still so little we have NEVER had freedom issues. DS#2 started walking at 11.5 months and everything became a struggle at about 13 months. I have a neice who started walking at 12 months and instantly everthing was a struggle and another neice didn't walk until 14.5 months and at 3 is still willing to just sit contently in a stroller.

No help, I know. But something like that totally depends on your child's personality. I don't think there will be much of a difference between 10 & 12 months. You can even change the trip into a 1st bday celebration.

There really is not a huge difference between 10 and 12 months. Depending on when they walk, they might insist on more freedom, but at 12 months, they should still sit pretty well in a stroller even if they are walking. I always insisted that my dd (now 4) sit in her stroller when we were traveling or shopping. We went for long walks in her stroller too. To this day, she will still sit nice for me in a stroller when I need her to. My nephew on the other hand struggled to sit in his stroller and his parents humored him by carrying him and pushing the stroller. It was always a problem when they went anywhere for long periods of time. If they start to fuss about the stroller, don't take them out and carry them or you will be doing that forever! They learn how to work you over at a very early age!!

Since you really can't predict stages because every child is different, I wouldn't worry about changing your date. You will have a ball no matter what age. Good luck!!!

DS #2 had just turned one when we went on our trip, and he did absolutely great! He rode in the stroller for hours, napped lots, and when he seemed to be getting fussy, we gave him something to play with or eat. He was out of the stroller for part of the time being carried or at a restaurant eating, but mainly he sat. I say go for it!

We took our son at 8 months & 13 months (& 18 mon) He did great all three times. The only thing that we really noticed between 8 & 13 mo was how much more HE noticed. He seemed to enjoy himself more each time, just because he knew more about what was going on. It will be fine either way. Have a great time! Don't forget to stop and enjoy the smaller things. :flower:

Hey! We just got back last week with a 4 year old and 10 month old triplets. They were wonderful. They are babies that are spoiled and LOVE to be held, but they were content in their stroller. They didn't mind riding in the stroller because their was so much for them to look at. We were in the park for over 12 hours one day and they were still good. We did at one point go to the Rose GArden at MK and put them on a blanket, so that they could roll around and play. It was a nice break for all of us though. They slept fine and enjoyed all of the attractions that we took them on. I think either age (10 mo. or 12 mo.) will be fine.
