10 month old puppy with seizures

Our 10 month old started getting seizures daily mid June, the vet put him on phenobarbital, Keppra, and potassium bromide
We started at 60mg 2 times a day, the up to 90and now 120 mg
Seemed to be working, but he just started getting post seizure activity more frequently
In the past couple days he would just be walking around the house , freeze and fall over, getting up after 20-30 seconds l
He is full of energy all the other times
Has anyone seen this before

Yes. Years ago we had a young chocolate lab that started getting almost uncontrollable seizures. The medicine would work for a while, but if we missed giving him a dose by an hour, he would start seizing again. The medicine made him so drugged up, that he tore his ACL at 2 years old.

We took him to UGA vet school for ACL surgery, but the vet there told us he would continue to hurt himself because of the epilepsy drugs. He recommended putting him to sleep, which broke our hearts.

I hope that medicine has improved since our experience. It was a terrible time for our family watching him suffer so badly and not being able to make things better for him. Best of luck to you and your pup.

Yes had a dog with seizures took a while to get meds right, but then he did well for long periods. What kind of dog?

Yes, good question. Actually, is he on any isoxazoline class of drugs, including Bravecto, Credelio, Nexgard, or Simparica?
