Now that I am ten days away from leaving for our first trip to disney world I am getting nervous that i am overlooking something.:goodvibes I have been planning this since March 8 (the day we booked) but still i just can't get the feeling that I am missing something out of my head.
We will be driving starting 2am on saturday july 19 We will be taking i 75. We have a room booked in dalton georgia that night. Then we will leave dalton by 6:30 or so the next moring and drive to All star Movie resort.
That is me brief drive to disney plan.
My question is what should I be doing now, what could i be forgeting. Any advice for packing, the drive, or anything else at all please post.
I know that all you disney experts must have some good advice.:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

We're leaving the day after you (flying though). I feel like I'm never going to be ready but then again, I'm a compulsive overplanner:rolleyes1 I keep running out to Walmart for the things I've forgotten... latest is another memory card for the camera.

I assume you have kids? Be sure to have lots of stuff to keep them busy in the car. The "disney for families" board has lots of car activity ideas.

Be sure to have a good list of all your reservation numbers and such to take with you each day. As I make my ADRs, I make a calendar and plug it all in. Then, on individual recipe cards, I write down each day's info, along with the times the parks open, parades, shows, etc. I also note with rides have fastpass.

I have a really great Disney packing list. I can post it if you like.

I'm sure you are more than ready. Have a great time on your trip!

Recheck your packing list - get extra batteries for the camera - a little extra sunscreen - pack your sunglasses, and start to celebrate!!!

You will be in the States, and you will have your vehicle - so if you do forget something you will be able to get whatever you need closeby.

Have a great time!!

Thanks for the replys everyone. i am starting to feel a little bit more confident.

We are driving a 2008 Hyundai Elantra, carbon grey colour. Where are you leaving from?? We are leaving from hanover ontario.

good question, here are some answers.

1 make sure you have out of provence medical coverage ( available through work benefits or CAA) We have had to use it and worth every cent> ( about 30 for a family of 5 if you dont have it through work)

2. PAck the disney movies, it always gets us in the "mood"

3. Confirm your dining plans ( chef mickeys a must for first timers)

4.pack a cooler to take with you, you will be lucky enough to have your car so take some water down ( save $$)

5. purchase the battery operated misting fans here for about $8 or there for about $15, Again worth every penny.

6. Dont forget extra sunglasses, something you hate to pay for if you misplace.

7. A decent first aid kit in the car and keep the Tylenol handy.

have a great time.

leaving from bowmanville, ontario at midnight driving 08 silver trailblazer with 07 antigua in tow...taking i75..honk if you see us

If you are counting on work's out of province-check your coverage-alot of them have a rediculously low cap- you can get cheap travel insurance from the major banks too. I'm so jealous- have a great time!!

Recheck your packing list - a little extra sunscreen

I second this one. We didn't realize how much sunscreen we would be going through and ended up having to buy it at the resorts. It's much cheaper here - you can never bring enough.
